Like when when you think of this team, I think of our young core as people like Meadows, Green Tolson. That’s that’s about all who’s playing in this one. Like I don’t think Rogers will be here for much longer. McKinster is a bit older. far as Embias are. But these guys are kind of placeholders for McGonagal for Clark. I I don’t know. Technically, all we got to do is start winning after today. And that’s a strikeout looking. So, both guys go down just not even swinging. But wouldn’t the Tigers also control their own destiny because all they’d have to do is beat Cleveland and Cleveland kind of has to win out like they’re like I I keep hearing that but it’s also like what if the Tigers beat Cleveland like like you know what I mean? But it could be that if the Tigers keep losing and the Cleveland wins the next six, we lose the next six, that means we’re kind of out of it. So, if we weren’t directly playing Cleveland, I think to close the season, there would be a lot more to the controlling their own destiny thing. and they swung out of the zone. Um with the only one going above 60 yards be it being Josh Allen when he went for like 62 in that game. Jaden didn’t even get a 100 on the Lions um when we played him in that playoff game. So I don’t know. I feel like Lions are a little bit better against runners. We’ll see how they do this week. If they can handle that, they’re they’re money. Hopefully the offense looks like looks sharp. Hopefully it’s uh more dialed in than it was against the Bears. Maybe Lamar will get the hot shits and he won’t be able to play. I’m not as worried about Derk Henry because the Lions actually play the run very well. Like of all aspects of that game, I’m like the only thing that [ __ ] us in that and literally everything the Ravens do, the Lions actually defend well except [ __ ] Lamar Jackson because they don’t play running quarterbacks very well. That’ll be a line out two away by Alvare. The Lions are a very good like run stop team. They’re they’re pretty good against the pass overall. Um like it’s like one of their small weaknesses, but like they they rush the pass well. They [ __ ] they do pretty good on passing, but they kind they’re they’re susceptible to penalties, so that kind of [ __ ] them. Um they’re they’re the aggressiveness is the reason their defense sees the field a little longer. Usually they kind of [ __ ] themselves pretty good. uh 10. Um I don’t know. They’re they they do things the Ravens kind of get [ __ ] on and I don’t think the Ravens have good enough receivers to completely hoe out the Lions corners. Yeah, the whole game plan is Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry because again, our corners and safeties should be able to pretty much man cover um their corners or their receivers. They don’t really have that good of a receiving core. Nothing our secondary um hasn’t seen in a better form in our own team. Tesla would be like the second best receiver on their roster. You know what I mean? Uh 3-1. That’s not even like an insult to um the Ravens. They’re they’re just, you know, they’re not that great at picking up receivers. So, again, it should be a safety on Lamar all game. Probably put [ __ ] Branch or Joseph on him and that’s pretty much how you deal with him. I think I think what you do is you play one less D. I I don’t know. You You almost got to like sacrifice a linebacker and put an extra safety up just to be on Lamar. And you almost wonder if you should use like Branch or Joseph to do that. probably branch um to do that for the game and just kind of keep him around tight ends and uh Lamar area. I don’t know. I don’t know what they should do. Branch is quick enough to keep up with Lamar. Um and probably smart enough to not get fooled by him every time. Meadows, Torres, and Carpenter. So, you need a smart player. like Brian’s Branch is probably like their second best player on that defense overall, him or Joseph. So, I don’t know. One of those two guys should be on Lamar tomorrow and like the short game. And I’m thinking Branch is the best option. Uh just the problem is [ __ ] Brian plays so [ __ ] emotional. Uh he might [ __ ] us in that. I don’t know. The goal isn’t to beat Lamar. It’s to just make him [ __ ] limited. Like make him do one thing only. They look better than they were last year at this point in the season. Um through two games, Lions look like a way better team than they did last year. They were one and one last year, too. It looked like I don’t know, man. I don’t know. The Lions looked really good last week, dude. And I know everyone’s like, “It’s Chicago.” I’m like, “Yeah, I don’t know. You don’t The [ __ ] Saints aren’t giving up 50 points in a in a game.” It’s really weird to see a team drop 50 [ __ ] points and look at that team and go, they could have scored more. And they probably should have. Like if it was like week four, the Lions would have probably dropped 60 points on that team without even thinking twice about it. And to me, that’s scary. I don’t know. Genuinely, you can’t make me feel bad if my team loses a game because it’s not the 07. is not that Super Bowl. I’ll never experience another worst loss in my life ever in my my whole life. I’ll never feel anything worse than losing that Super Bowl as far as like a sports loss. I still think about I still know where I was sitting when that game went final. I have a perfect memory of that moment in time. It’ll never leave me. Even when I’m in my most [ __ ] up, I can think about that moment crystal clear. If I if I was ever driven insane, it would be that thought. How the [ __ ] did he catch that football off his helmet? It’s all I think about it is the way I look at it. I’ve already experienced the worst possible loss that I could already experience. So, I try not to let reg like this doesn’t bother like the Tigers are going to blow this probably and lo not make the playoffs and I should be pissed. But it is what it is. It happens. We move on and you heal. And see, no one lets me suffer as a Patriots fan. Everyone pretends like it’s been all sunshine and all glory. We have five Super Bowl losses. I’ve experienced three of those. One of those is considerably one of the worst losses in NFL history. I don’t think people understand how difficult it is sometimes to be a Patriots fan. And I say that nobody ever understands what I mean. But imagine your team goes undefeated and then loses in the Super Bowl. You can’t even [ __ ] fathom what that feels like. Nobody can. It’s just like, “Yeah, that’s a good [ __ ] point, isn’t it?” And then try to imagine losing a regular season game and then going, “All right, that’s okay.” And then just five short years later, you replayed that team that you swore you would have beat if you played them nine out of 10 times. Oh, we’d beat him. If we got a rematch, we’d destroy him. They beat us again. That didn’t hurt as bad. That one didn’t hurt as bad. Yeah, the Lions are in a good spot. They’re they’re moving towards being that which is nice to see. Uh the Tigers had a bad couple years there. I don’t know what the [ __ ] happened. Stupid ass team just goes through shitty phases sometimes. 32. Then we got to get the Illiches off this team. We got to get a guy who wants to spend some money owning this team. That was not football related, but I haven’t. Yeah, the Oh, the Dolphins. Yeah, that sucks. Being a Dolphins fan is hilarious now. It’s like you guys are the new Detroit Lions, which is wild. At least Lions fans have been to the NFC Championship in their life now. One away for Perez. It would suck to be the new Lions. I’m not going to lie. Being my being a Miami fan is literally being the new Detroit Lions fan. Like all your Super Bowls came back when it was like Super Bowl eight. Like god damn it. Haven’t been good since [ __ ] Dan Marino was on the team in the 90s. It’s just like damn, dude. Jill, we’re really bad now. Yeah. You never want to be drawing comparison to like Barry Sanders era Lions. That’s what you guys were just a couple years ago with that team. Uh oh. Yeah. basically because in baseball you can’t buy a World Series. It’s um the Dodgers are like the only team that I’ve ever seen actually like it happens every so often, but like all those great Yankee teams are always homebuilt. Like all the great like all great dynasties in baseball are homebuilt dynasties. Um you never really see a team build and buy it like buy and build the dynasty that way. Doesn’t happen. Part of the reason why the Dodgers are so good is because they actually draft and develop players extremely well. Um, and that was how the Yankees used to be good too back then, like when even in like the early days of the money era. Um, they were a good team because they like could draft into like they draft they still draft well, but they trade everybody. Um, they have a very good eye for talent in that organization. Top eight still 6-1. But the Yankees don’t do that. The Dodgers do. The Yankees just get anybody who’s good. that’s available and they’ll trade for whoever they can. But the Dodgers are very good at um building teams. They they understand drafting, developing. The Tigers are good at drafting and developing now with what they have in place. We just have to get to like 2027, I think, to actually be relevant. This sucks. I hope we win, dude, tomorrow and the next game because, you know, today’s pretty cooked. I’ll be right. I I can’t think of a time other than like Max Scherzer and JD Martinez where we haven’t played players. Um, we gave what, Verlander, like a record-breaking amount of money at one point for him to sign an extension. We gave a 35-year-old Miguel Cabrera like $300 million. Um, you know, you know what I mean? Like we offered Koreah 330, he said no over a years. Bregman said no because Boston offered like $400 million a year, but we had offered him what? 264 million. Every penny that he wanted. Like I don’t know where this notion that the Tigers cheap out comes from, but it’s like a wrong notion. We gave Hobby Bayas like 260 $250 million. We We gave [ __ ] Kenta $15 million for some reason. We’re not a cheap team. I I really despise the notion that we’re a cheap team. We’re one of baseball’s largest market franchises with some of the most money in the sport. I don’t understand where we have this notion that we’re poor. Again, you don’t have to like it, but it’s an example of the Tigers spend money. And again, it’s hard to dispute me on this. Like, yeah, we don’t have a big payroll now because we don’t need one. Like, it’s stupid to do that for no reason. But like we could compete monetarily with all of the top teams right now. It’s not that’s not a problem for this franchise. Scuba wants 425. Guess what? We’re probably going to pay him 425 million and that’s that. We’re just going to have to pay him that over like 10 years. Hell, I hope we give him 500 and defer [ __ ] 200 million of it. Oh, 100%. And we probably will. Look at how much we paid Verlander like 12, 13 years ago. And that’s your answer to what we’re probably going to pay Scooball. I think we paid Verlander at the time like $25 million for a five-year deal. I’m not I’m not kidding, by the way. Go look up what we paid him back in like 2011, 2012. Uh maybe 2013. We paid him so much [ __ ] money for the time. Yeah, I would be stunned if we don’t resigned him. Yeah, it’s it’s not even a problem to pay him that much money, especially because he’s probably winning a second Scion this season. By the way, we’ll probably wrap it up after this at bat round here. I’m I don’t think I’m going to finish out. We’re we’re we’re we’re under like 20 people right now. Everyone’s checked out. Plus, I kind of want to go play games and [ __ ] tonight. Plus, like the problem is we don’t really know what’s about to happen. Um, so I we’ll probably be able to afford Scooball and those other teams won’t be able to do so. I would imagine we’re going to have a very shitty salary cap installed in baseball. However, the good side of the salary cap, I think the way we get one is a salary floor where teams are going to be forced to spend at least 100 million on their roster. If that’s the tradeoff to get the salary, like the salary minimum put in, I think it’s worth it. Dude, we just got pitched by Tyler Elder into [ __ ] oblivion. The salary cap. Yeah, dude. Salary cap sucks dick. I hate salary cap. It’s the [ __ ] dumbest thing in sports. I wish it was just salary floors cuz like dude, teams like the [ __ ] Red Wings who have all the money get punished because of dumb salary cap horseshit. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. We have very wealthy teams in Detroit. I don’t know why we can’t utilize our [ __ ] massive monies. Like look at the Lions, dog. They they seem to have unlimited money like the Eagles. They can just sign people into no problems. You ever notice that the Lions just sign anybody to whatever amount of money and then pretend they don’t have enough other money? They’re somehow going to pay every player on that team some money. And I and I don’t [ __ ] believe how they’re going to pull this off. They’re going to they’re going to because if it goes up like 20 million the salary cap, I think the Lions can keep like four more guys. And it’s [ __ ] dude. The salary cap going up the way that it’s gone up in the last two or three years and the way it’s about to keep going up is basically the sole reason why Detroit’s going to build a monster football team that may never be bad again. That’s a deep fly out by Mckinstry one away. I’m not kidding by the way. It’s like they need like 25 more million in cap space and they can probably resign Brian Branch and uh Hutch this off season and maybe Leaporta. I think they’ll have enough for all three. Um, it’s the Fords are also incredibly wealthy and the the Ford Firestone family. They’re a very very wealthy group of people cuz you got to know they like they like don’t they make money from Ford and the like like they’re so [ __ ] rich. Like them spending money ain’t [ __ ] they can just keep pumping money into that football team. It doesn’t it doesn’t [ __ ] them up. Like signing bonuses, taking less for a bigger signing bonus. They can just pay that. Um because again, that’s how they’ve how they’re getting kind of decent [ __ ] deals on some of these deals. How big was JO’s signing bonus, by the way? Does anyone remember off the top of your head if you’re wondering why you got J Mo for so [ __ ] cheap? like 20 [ __ ] five mil a year for J Mo, dog. That’s that’s so that’s so lame for everybody else. There’s like 30 mil for JMO, but that’s not that bad for a bonafide one. A guy that can average [ __ ] 54 yards a catch. Put up Randy Moss ass numbers. Two catches, 108 yards, and a touchdown. That’s so [ __ ] stupid. If you’re a Lions fan, you have JMO. It’s like, yeah, we just we just have a whole nuclear weapon on our team and he’s the fun. He’s the coolest guy in the league. But yeah, Jo signing bonus is um a good example of why you why it’s nice to have rich owners because they’ll backload everything and really negotiate that contract weird, push money aside. It’s it’s how you do things. The Eagles are a true Wizard team. I don’t know how they do what they do. Howie Roseman is a [ __ ] genius with the salary cap. Yeah, it was a three-year extension worth like $90 million or something like that. But like he got a huge signing bonus um that brought it down from being like a record like a new top contract to two that he probably would have got on the open market. 83 mil 67 guaranteed. So about 20 something a year. deep. That’s f. And again, it’s he got all 67 of that guaranteed. So, he got a signing. I wonder what a signing bonus was. [Music] Again, that’s a pretty good contract for a receiver like J Mo. That’s not a lot of money. And that’ll be the third out. Tigers are going to lose this game. All right, folks.
