"People are trying to do this study about gym shoes, low cuts, why they hurt their Achilles, and stuff like that. I say their bones are still fragile. Their bones haven't matured. Their bones haven't really gotten strong because a lot of these guys, if you look at them, don't drink milk. They don't drink real vitamin D milk," said Hardaway.

"It was for your bones. It helps your bones get stronger. When you broke an arm, when you broke a shoulder, when you broke something, broke a wrist, they always, the doctors, were like, drink milk, drink milk, drink milk. That's going to mend your bones and make them stronger," Hardaway added.

  1. There are many studies that suggest many of us are Vitamin D deficient, even with recommended values in our diets. He’s not wrong, he’s just not wording it in the best way

  2. The funny thing is, bone density rates have been improving for women over the past couple generations, mostly thanks to the sudden popularity of lattes. Starbucks isn’t as trendy for boys, I guess.

  3. Ahhh shit. Cue the milk propaganda. Vitamin D is added to milk folks. Hardaway you were fartin because 70% of the population is lactose intolerant sir. High levels of calcium can reduce vitamin D absorption, and of course we also know that milk can negative impact bone health (contrary to the bullshit we’ve been indoctrinated with) because people consuming it without realizing their intolerance can experience inflammation which affects bone health. So yeah. I hope you got a check for that complete crock of horse shit Tim.

  4. I mean, hear me out on this. Even as a white guy that now lives in the north, I feel seasonal effects from the lack of sunlight when it’s wintertime here. Like most of us, there’s a large period of time where the only time the sun is up, I’m inside a building, so I don’t get much actual sunlight. I’d imagine, that it’s even harder for black people to get adequate amounts of vitamin D through sunlight. I would really recommend supplemental vitamin D (or eating lots of fatty fish, think mackerel etc.) for almost anyone, but probably even more people who aren’t super light skinned, no joking around. It’s not going to be a panacea for everything, but I do think it’s not talked about enough how important that could be for general health.

  5. I buy lactase enzyme to add to my kids milk. No more farts. I myself loved breaking wind as a kid. I took pride in it. They don’t make em like they used to…

  6. RFK Jr.: get this black guy a position ASAP. If he says inject milk to your veins then give him a bonus

  7. Vitamin D is good for the bones, but sleep’s important too for growth. With all what’s accessible nowadays you have to think sleep time’s drastically cut

    Fuck I miss midday naps
