Major League Baseball and WNBA are on Saturday, but we’ve also or sorry, on the weekend, but we’ve also got Saturday college football taking center stage. Sundays for week three NFL. For the New York Mets, it’s it’s uh Nolan Mlan listed as a starter in this one. While the Washington Nationals, no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded. I have seen Cade Kavali listed as the starter in a couple of places. We’ll have to see if that ends up being the case. But, if it is Cavali, I mean, this season a 4.76 erra. The problem for Kavali is that in four road starts, he does have a 7.85 ERA. Now, the Nationals done a good job with him on the mound. They’ve won four of his last five starts, including a pair of starts on the road against the likes of the Phillies and the Marlins. Um, but for me, you’re still going to be up against it here. This is still a New York Mets team that has something to fight for. And this is a Washington lineup that I just don’t know if I trust against Nolan Mlan to be able to back up Kavali here if he has a solid start. I mean, in the month of September, the Nationals are, you know, top 15, you know, just outside the top 10 in terms of team OPS against righties. The batting average is above league average. The isolated power numbers are still fairly decent for Washington, but it hasn’t translated to wins. I mean, this is a team that’s lost four straight and seven of nine entering Friday’s action. And I said, I think that this could be a bit of a struggle spot for the Nationals with how well Nolan Mlan has pitched on the other side. A 1.19 ERA. So far through his first six starts as a major leager, he’s been every bit as good as advertised, especially in his starts at home. Mlan has yet to allow a run in three starts at home this season across 19 and a3 innings of work. Control’s been an issue at times. Did issue four walks in his debut against the Mariners, but since then in the two starts against the Phillies and the Rangers, 13 strikeouts to two walks. I also h I have my concerns with this Mets bullpen as well, but it’s not like Washington’s is much better. These two teams are neck andneck right next to each other in terms of bullpen erra in the month of September. So for me there is a clear edge in starting pitching here for the Mets. You know they have a better they have the better numbers against right-handed pitching in the month of September. I got to roll with the Mets on the run line here. You add in the motivational angle of teams that are starting to breed down their neck in the NL wildard hunt. If the if the Mets can’t get it done here, you can I I I think I’m really ready to stick a fork in this team as I think they’re going to get laughed. So, I’m going to roll with the Mets here on the run line and that’s going to be my free pick.
