Some insights from Charles Lee's media luncheon last week.

  1. All exciting news. If Brandon can take a leap, Lamelo can stay healthy, and the rookies can contribute (mainly Kon but certainly Kalkbrenner will have opportunities to contribute from the start), I can see us as a team that’s competitive every night which is at least a large improvement from the past few years. If we had a better group of bigs I’d be even more encouraged although I am excited to see Moussa in extended minutes next year. Not sure what free agents look like next year but maybe we have the opportunity to have a major growing year than add a somewhat big name C/PF next offseason to lift us into the playoffs ( a la Al Jefferson). Only difference being that we have far more talent than we ever did during the Kemba years so an addition like that could elevate the team further. Very encouraged by what we’ve seen so far from new coaching and ownership group so far. I still have bad dreams about the Mike Dunlap hire.

  2. Grant and Green will be out to start but Grant is close it says. So we’ll probably get a run of Salaun as primary backup 4. McNeeley is basically the only competition there.
