Any chance the Rangers and Red Wings both wear the centennials when they face off against each other this season? Seems like it would be a missed opportunity if not, but I could see the NHL not allowing it because it would suck for people with color blindness (and because they hate fun).

That would be cool
Definitely should be wearing them against the other original 6
When they first rebranded to the Red Wings, they didn’t have white uniforms… so yeah, that’d be pretty cool. I think they announced the dates they’re wearing the jersey already though.
Would be sick. These look awesome side by side.
The Rangers are wearing their Centennial jerseys in a game against Detroit on November 18th. Perhaps the Red Wings wear theirs then as well.
I like what the Rangers did but man the Wings jersey is absolutely stunning. Best of the bunch by far.
It would be incredibly stupid if they didn’t do this, which is why the NHL won’t do it.
Would be dope for original 6 era night in Nov.
Per the rule book, section 9.1:
“All players of each team shall be dressed uniformly with approved design and color of their helmets, sweaters, shortpants, stockings and skates. … Each member Club shall design and wear distinctive and contrasting uniforms for their home and road games, no parts of which shall be interchangeable except the pants.”
I would say red vs blue very much falls under the distinction of contrasting colors, however, if both teams are wearing red pants, the league could say no. It’s not *impossible* but it is improbable.
Wait, aren’t we getting a new Winter Classic design?
They’ve done Maple Leafs-Red Wings games color on color in the past (at least for the Winter Classic), so it’s possible!
I’m going to this game, and it would be my favorite thing that’s ever happened to me
