Yeah, I’m sure everyone expects to be back at their job until they get a surprise firing. Even if he expected to be fired, would he really say that in an interview? For the record, I kinda expect him back too unfortunately. But I think this article is a nothing burger

I mean it says Cherington expects to return. I think he may be the only guy that expects that.
I remember when Hurdle and Huntington said this exact same thing in September of the 2019 season
will make his firing all the more sweeter. Hopefully they catch it on video.
Can someone explain this word salad from his PC yesterday?
“To some extent, the last two weeks make you really confront the things that you have to get better at, that we have to get better at. It’s not just one thing. The roster needs to improve. That’s going to be a combination of guys who are already here and strengthening the roster in the offseason. And we also need to play a really consistent, smart brand of baseball. We haven’t done that consistently enough in the last couple of weeks. It’s not a lack of effort. We just haven’t executed the way we need to to win games. It’s been very difficult but also incredibly motivating. We’ve gotta be better.”
A 1-10 stretch is “incredibly motivating “? Ok, BC.
