  1. Brilliant long con the Cubs are playing to lay down for the Reds before turning it on again for the Mets, thus ensuring that the Mets miss the playoffs.

  2. Would still rather watch this team potentially get swept tomorrow than watch whatever the Bears put on the field

  3. 0-3 since popping champagne for a fuckin playoff birth

I don’t really like them doing that for anything but a division win or in the playoffs but if they wanted to do it they should have at least waited till they clinched the top wild card spot smh

  4. Just because you made the playoffs doesn’t mean the season is over yet…gotta still win some games.

  5. I’m probably not as concerned as I *should* be. It kinda feels like a “okay we made it lets take it easy for a set” before getting back to it.

  6. Stop serving up home runs to the Reds! They rank in the bottom third of most offensive categories in all of MLB

  7. Is there genuinely anybody out there that thinks this team isn’t going to be easily swept aside in the playoffs?

  8. Maybe should have focused on the remaining schedule rather than popping champaign for simply making it into the playoffs. I hope they wake up in the next week

  9. haven’t followed the since they clinched. what’s going on? are they sitting guys out and that’s why their losing? or is it a bigger concern?

  10. Blegh gross. Reds are desperate though. Counted 2 starters out of the pen for them, it is what it is.

  11. Cubs are going to give the Reds a playoff berth. How bad they needed this series…probably will sweep, Cubs look lethargic.

  12. More of the same since the all star break. No more clutch hits. Offense is done…put a fork in it. It doesn’t really matter what wild card seed we are. Go Cubs Go!

  13. The last three nights at wrigley they’ve had the outfield set up as a driving range, coincidence?

Maybe but I’m still going to blame these losses on golf and anyone who enjoys it.

  14. Folks, I’m getting that 2020 deja vu feeling. Like 2020, got off to a such a hot start, which is why we made the playoffs in the first place, played terrible down the stretch, limped into the playoffs, and got knocked out very easily. (And also feeling like 2018 as well, where we completely choked down the stretch). Would have been nice for the Cubs to play like they still wanted to compete for the division.

But, dear Chicago Cubs baseball organization – PLEASE don’t history repeat itself this year!

  15. That celebration the other day was pretty exuberant for getting to a wildcard. You didn’t win the World Series.
