And a very light rain falling here at the ballpark. A swing and a miss and Manny Machado strikes out. It’s a one, two, three first inning. White Socks are coming up on the ground at third. Machado picks it off that wet surface and fires to first round number one. Vargas to left center field. This is going to be a gapper. It gets down. Tracking the wall is coming around from first is Montgomery. He will score the game’s first run. White Socks take a one- nothing lead in the first inning. Popped up from third comes Machado onto the infield lawn to make the catch. It will end the inning. White Sox get a run, take a one- nothing lead after one. creating talent where they can find it and have done a really nice job with Gomez. This is driven out to deep right center field for Jackson Merrill and it is gone to tie the game at one. Home run number 15 of the year for Jackson Merrill. Ties it at one. Sitting the right. Oh, chop left side as Vargas cuts it off. Slings it to first to get Sheets. Swinging a foul tip held on to for strike three to end the inning, but leadoff home run for that guy. Jackson Merrill Caro the DH leading it off here in the second inning. Battling away and hits a fly ball to left field. Over goes Lauriano. Step or two for round number one. popped up. Foul ground first baseway. Ryan O’Harn will make the catch for out number three. Through two at Chicago tied to one of goes and a line drive to right field and diving is Tman to make the catch. Could turn it into two. It is two. sinking line drive turns into a DP with Fine running little hit and run and [Applause] to right field and that ball is going to get down to the track and the wall. Live makes his way around from first base. He will score. It’s an RBI double and the White Socks take a two-1 lead. Up the middle, Cronorth will go to first. lots of spin on that baseball and looking with his gapper double to right center. Vargas hits one to the ground to short. Chron to his left gets him at first base and the inning. A run for the White Sox who take a two-1 lead to the fourth. [Applause] Fly ball center field. Struck pretty well. Taylor going back onto the warning track. Makes the catch right in front of the fence. Line to right. Tacman on the move dives and makes the catch route number two. That one was sinking on him as well. Made a few plays out there to third Vargas. It’s a 1, two, three, fourth inning for Gomez. It’s a 2-1 White Sox lead. That’s with Tman at first. Base one away. And this is the deep third. Machado will go to second for one on the first for two. Double play around the horn they go on the 543 inning ending double play. Nicely done. Some good cutters, some good sinkers, some good change ups. The four seam fast ball as we just saw well located and a base hit right here to start things off in the sixth inning. But Gomez has been very effective using his entire repertoire tonight, guys. Just out of the region. Thrown behind him. Wow. And up to second goes Fernando. But Gomez is like, “What did I just do? Fernando takes off for third. Ball gets away. He’ll take third. Stolen base. Love stealing third. Machado lines it into center field for a base hit. Fernando can jog home and this game is tied at two. Machado comes through for the RBI single. Yanked that one. It gets away and Machado will scamper to second base. [Applause] And that is ball four. So down to first base goes Merryill. That will get away. And the runners will advance again. Another pitch in the dirt. Machado takes third. Merrill takes second. Swing. [Applause] All four. And that loads the bases. Second walk allowed by Ellard. line to left field in there for a base hit. This is going to be a gapper and clear the bases. Machado is in. Merryill is in. Sheets coming around. He’s in. Bases clearing double for Ryan O’Harn. Fly ball down the right field line. Tman heading over into foul ground. Tacman makes the catch. Goes into the crowd. Nice catch up into the screen. [Music] Back to the mound. Mory Hol will go to second for one to first. The two dug out by O’Harn. [Applause] Fly ball right center field. Merrill will make the catch. It will end the sixth inning. We’re going to the seventh. It’s 5-2 San Diego. Ripped and picked on the back hand by Sosa. Taking himself to the bag for round number two. 2-2 in the air to right field sending Tman back to the warning track to make the catch to one two three. Seventh inning for Wilson. But it’s a 5-2 Padres’s lead in the air to shallow right and it’s a rise backpedaling to the short line and right for the first out in the swing and a miss and he struck him out on the splitter. First strike out for Estrada and a strike three gets him looking to the splitter to get it done. A one two three seventh inning for Estrada. his 36th game. 217 opponent’s batting average. This is drilled out towards left center field and that will get in with a track in the wall. Jackson Merrell headed to second base. Got himself a double to lead off the eighth inning. Line to right field. A base hit. Jackson Merrell’s going to be waved around. He will score. An insurance run for the Padres’s on top now six-2. Gavin Sheets driving in a run. That a strike three gets him looking. Second out of the inning. [Applause] Swing and a miss and corner strikes out. Backto back cage for Boozer. But a run for the Padres as we head to the bottom of the eighth. 6-2 San Diego. So Hearn is out of this game. Strike three and the first out of the bottom of the eighth. That’s three. That’s three. There’s three in this league. Oh, live ball center field. It’s done pretty well. Merryill going back in front of the fence to make the catch for round number three. [Applause] [Music] Fernando chops one left side. Montgomery goes to second for one onto first. Not in time. There goes Fernando for second base. Pitch down and in and uncontested stolen base. Line to right center field. That’s in for a base hit. Here comes Fernando around with the seventh Padres’s run. 72 San Diego. We srise an RBI single. [Applause] Fly ball right field sending Tman back to the dirt of the track to make the catch. It will end the game. If Padres’s tack on another run, we’re going to the bottom of the ninth. Second, high drive deep left field. Gloriana looking up and it’s gone. Sosa gets his 21st home run of the year. to right field. Fernando is there and he makes the catch. Padres’s win.
