THRILLER: Cleveland Guardians EXPLODE In Extra Innings for Dramatic Win Over Detroit Tigers

Goonies never say die and apparently new to the Cleveland Guardians. Holding on to my chest right here after another heartpumping win. Justin L here from lockdown Guardians and thank goodness on how Martinez couldn’t get a bunt down. I’ve never been so happy for someone not to be able to bunt even though he was trying to bunt because instead of bunting and giving up an out in the 10th inning, Anel Martinez has to swing away. swing away Merryill and gets a double, drives in a run. The Guardians explode for four runs in the 10th inning. Who needs all those runs in the first nine innings? You could just wait till the 10th inning to do the bulk of the damage. Why not? I love the Rob Madford extra runner roll. Who doesn’t love that role? Joey Canelo was good enough, not great. The bullpen walked the tight rope all night long and then Cade Smith got the first two outs and there’s that guy Carrie Carpenter again. Thought we were done with that whole thing, but no. He hits a game-tying pinch hit home run in the ninth inning with two outs off Kate Smith. Guardians closers just cannot beat Carrie Carpenter apparently. But the Guardians still managed to win. They’re still not getting any help, but they are hanging tight. They’re making sure the Tigers can’t clinch the AL Central in Detroit against Cleveland. And they’ll continue battling all week long.   5. What a wild and exciting affair with playoff tension, right through the conclusion of the game! (And seriously, why are Tigers fans leaving after the top of the tenth with the new extra inning rule? Makes no sense.)

    In any case, after the Arias miscue in the 2nd inning, some excellent defense by the Guardians.
