QB Tua Tagovailoa meets with the media after #NEvsMIA | Miami Dolphins
all that thought for the tough one that final drive you have the opportunity to win a game and go down and then those mistakes late. How frustrating was that final drive in particular to not close it out? Yeah, that that was really frustrating. Uh it was frustrating with the communication with the guys inside the huddle and then what the personnel is then the play for those guys. Do we have too many guys in? Why do we have another guy running in? Just the the whole operation of that was was not up to standard was not up to par. And I got to do a better job with our guys in that sense. Who’s that fall on? How does that fall out? What’s the communication like in such a hurry when you’re trying to get the plays going? How kind of the process of that? Well, we have until the 15 um second mark until it cuts off with the communication with Mike. So, depending on what the personnel is, depending on what we were trying to do there, if it was a wristband call or if it was a call it in the headset, you know, there there’s a lot of things in that sense that play a role in if we’re getting to the right things or if we’re not getting to the right things. So that was sort of the mixup of communication there. Those two plays post snap. Can you take us through what you saw of both the interception and the sack? Yeah, the interception was just trying to make a play. Fourth down. Um and then the sack just trying to step up and try to maneuver through the pocket. Maybe we got something and uh was going to try to give one of the guys a chance. Did you think a Chan had won it? Uh well I seen I seen the ref. he he started doing that while while Ahan was in the um end zone. So, uh that would have been cool, but still when when we have that opportunity to go uh you know go down there and score, we we got to come up with that. On on a short week, how do you balance the urgency to prepare for a team that knows how to win a division? Well, you got to learn from this game. You got to move on from it quick. And that’s that’s what that is. uh you go in tomorrow, you watch it with the guys, you watch it with the coaches, get a gist of what the game plan’s going to look like going into Thursday. Um and then throughout all of that, right, tonight, tomorrow, that’s when you sort of have your recovery as well. So, it looked like we saw a quicker trigger from you to push that ball downfield to to Jaylen to Tyreek. What was the what switch flipped for you this week from last week to trust that pass even more? I think uh well having having uh some some talks with Reek and whatnot um that if I do just don’t think that that I’m going to throw at it 80 yards like as you’re running just do your best to track it because you could potentially stop. That’s what ended up happening on that play for for Reek. And then with him and Wadd with those deeper outbreaking routes um just trying to help them get open while maneuvering uh you know the corner uh in the flat. Ter you mentioned the players meeting last week. Did you address things today despite the loss that you had talked about in the players meeting? Uh we we didn’t address any of that. um we came together and then Wadd had something to say to to the guys and um I thought it was really good and um you know just things like that we we just can’t have we just can’t have any of this 0 and2 um you know we’re not saying this the end of the season but um I think for me and Wad in the league I don’t think we’ve started it uh started uh you know a season 0 and two um So, just trying to maneuver through that and then with our our guys as well. It’s a new team, right? Um new guys and we got to keep going. Man, you know, there’s 15 games left. Obviously, your brain tells you that the whole season almost is still in front of you guys, but like you said, it is 0 and2 and history says that’s a pretty scary record. You know what the odds are going forward? Just what is the level of concern right now? Well, I wouldn’t say there’s there’s alerts uh going on right now. Um with man, the season’s over. I think the alerts are more on like, dude, what are we doing that we’ve done all these other years to start fast to help us get to where we want to go to where we want to have those explosives, the pre- snap communication, the timing, the operation, all of that. Like I think that’s where the alert is more um a concern is trying to find that urgency back for our offense and then for our team as well. Fans are booing during during this game. A group of fans flew a banner saying fire. What are you thinking as you’re seeing all this? I didn’t see any of that but did hear the booze. Yeah, it’s a part it’s part of the game. Uh the fans pay money, their hard-earned money to come and see their team play and we go out there and you know we don’t look the part as we have you know previous years and so it it’s all understandable and it comes with the game. You get the booze, you get the cheers. It’s like anything else. You get the highs, you get the lows. Uh but for for us mentally as players like we got to stay even ke we got to stay together. We got to continue to trust one another and build off of whatever this game was. Tula, you had a a different look on the right side of your offensive line. Um, how did you feel about the performance of Larry and and Keon? I think they did a great job for what we asked as asked of them uh to do in this game. Um, you know, there there’s a lot of the situations that could have been avoided with our operational deals that we had. Um, but I think they did a good a great job for the most part. to what’s your confidence level in getting all of this operational stuff situated? You know, I’m I’m I’m going to go have a conversation with Mike. I’m going to go have a conversation with Bev uh with our offensive guys and talk about it because what we what we put out there that was just that was unsat. Like you anyone who knows football and anyone who doesn’t know football just knows like that that was not clean and that was not right with what we were doing in the end of the game. So, we’ll get that fixed, communicate that to those guys, and we’ll move forward from there. To on with a short week, especially after a loss like this, is it almost is it almost a relief to be able to get back on the field faster and just behind you quicker? I think there’s always a sight of relief when you get to touch the field again and you get the opportunity to uh, you know, put the last game to to bed. Uh that’s sort of the feeling that we had with the Indie game and then now you know it was in hopes of getting a a win uh this week and so you know can’t can’t have what you you know feel didn’t earn you know I didn’t feel we earned this win um and so that’s that’s what it was and so we have that opportunity to play on Thursday. Do you feel like uh next week going into well Thursday going into the game you guys will be heavy underdogs. You feel like you guys play a lot with nothing? Well, I I I wouldn’t say we’ll we’ll go out there and play loosely. Uh we we want to go out there and we want to play football the way football should be played with the right fundamentals, the right techniques for us, offense, defense, special teams. Uh we want to play sound football. You know, we don’t want to just go out there and and just let loose um thinking this is just another game. Like I believe every game is is its own season and you know this game on Thursday is its own season for us. Last question to a I have a weird thing with Mike Greybel. You you know that no I went three but first loss to the Patriots. Any weird kind of thing with with that? No. Um this is the NFL, right? You you win, you lose. Um and this this was this was a loss. That’s that’s that’s all that was. You know, I don’t look at it as um whatever the record was against the Patriots and then what it is now. You know, that’s that’s part of league. If you don’t come prepared against really good teams, that’s what you should expect.

We need a O line just like every other good QB has in this league..
MR. HAWK TUA, time to go. You have an offense that's this fire and only you could fumble this bag. This team has potential, but you aren't the right signal caller bro. Just being real
FIRE GRIER AND MIKE MCDANIEL
Yall still making excuses for this man I see 🤦🏾♂️
LETSGOMIAMI!!! way to early in the season. Just gotta focus shut everything out and ball out. LETSGO!!!
We need a QB 6'2 + this is bad. Dude freezes up every time. Not a franchise QB and no improvising skills. I'm done 6 year's of this we deserve better
This feels like a low key mutiny
That locker room has to be on fire. I’ve never seen Tua talk like that. McDaniel and him have to be bumping heads.
Let's go Uce! It's only Week 2. Have fun and play safe against the Bills, because I smell a W coming this Thursday. 🤙🏾
We just need an O-line and tua will lead us
about to be 0-3
Can someone that’s an interviewer let tua know after the bills lost they are going 0-4??
The worst mistake in the history of the Dolphins is having this coach and Mr. Interception.
One other thing that's harder than losing and that's talking to the media after losing.
THIS PLAY CALLING PROBLEM BEEN GOING ON FOR 4 YEARS NOW GET THEM ALL OUT OF THEIR INCLUDING THE OWNER HE NEED TO FIRE HIMSELF
You can sense the low morale and lack of leadership on this team. You can tell that these guys’ hearts aren’t into it. I wouldn’t even let McDaniel coach for one more day. I would fire him first and foremost, since he has more of a direct impact on the team. Grier would follow. But these guys are frustrated, lost and soulless. That comes from terrible management and coaching. But you can sense the low morale. As much as the players are to blame, the coaching is more to blame. A change is needed. Why wait?
I don’t think this is on Tua but I also don’t think Tua is a great QB that defense and that o line is atrocious this team will be lucky if they win any games this year.
Tua is washed up 😅
I wanted tua to do so well but he's not our qb
Tua nothing to lose go full out put it all on the line f it
Been a fan since 2012 I’m tired of this organization there needs to be toughness and grit here in soflo im glad I got my Florida panthers to cheer for lol
Been a Dolphins fan for 55 years, and this team is a total DUMPSTER FIRE….might be the worst team in the league……
Hire gruden. He will match vrabels energy and with that kind of toughness we could smack buffalo in buffalo…
there is nothing more depressing in sports than being a dolphins fan
I am all the way done with you, and this entire front office.
If they lose against the Jets, McDaniels, Tua, and Grier can just pack there bags and head out for good after getting back to the dressing room.
Can someone teach Tua the word accountability
Fire Grier and McDaniel after the Buffalo game
Tua isn't the same player he was in 22-23
Tighten up and be the player you know you are!!
Tua is SCREWED without Waddle and Hill.
We need to get rid of Mike, why the extra motions. It doesn't work, well in madden it does but Defenses got him figured out.
We’re about to be 0-3 lmfao oh mannnnn
Anybody else think it’s crazy the players refer to him as Mike? lol What about coach? There’s no respect here. Imagine if a player on the Pats called him Bill..like they’re buds.
This is a LEGACY defining game for Tua.
