Yeah I’d probably go home too.
I feel bad for Morton. He was clearly distraught after he was pulled from his last start. But what a ridiculous trade from Harris. Just one of those moves that everyone but the GM could see was dumb from the second it happened.
Bravo Scott Harris, bravo š, Morton came in, added gasoline to the dumpster fire and peaced out. Atleast trade for Verlander for the memories if youāre going to get an old af pitcher for innings.
What a disaster of a trade. I was wrong about him. I thought it was a quality trade but oof.
The last outing wasnāt pretty but we still have to hit the ball
I’m still waiting for all the reinforcement we were promised. Remember when Cobb, Lange, Urquidy and Sewald were the chosen ones just on the cusp of coming up and dominating?

I was hoping this exact move would happen.
Harris should face alot of criticism for what’s happened but I don’t remember any starting pitcher besides Wacha getting traded. Plus I don’t think he wanted to give up much because he knew this team wasn’t good enough
So, we just should have kept Ashton and thrown literally anyone out there every 5th day to get their ass kicked instead? Yeah? Just checking.
Tigers management is like the guy who buys an off-brand TV at Big Lots, tells his family itās ājust as good as those overpriced brandsā and wonders why the family thinks that it sucks just because the speakers are tinny and the picture is dim and grainy. š
I saw the 2.66 ERA and said “YAY š”. Then kept reading and saw 5.44 ERA in the majors and said “Oh Fuck š¤¦”

From whiffing on Bregman, to signing an injured Alex Cobb, to all the deadline flops/lack of hitters acquired, I gotta give Scott Harris a D+ on the year. Only Gleyber and Finnegan have been good moves these past 12 months, and honestly, most of this team is Al Avila still. Do we actually trust Scott Harris to build a World Series contender?
People were roasting the guys that wanted Verlander. Yes he was dog at the time but man has he completely turned it around. he has even outperformed Scherzer whom was basically pampered by the number 1 seeded Blue Jays before he started his season.

Fun fact: Fangraphs has a great article about how Tanner Rainey was the lowest leverage reliever of all time last year for the Nationals. You can find it by googling its creatively named title “Tanner Rainey is the Lowest-Leverage Reliever in Baseball”.
Morton wasn’t terrible. Everything’s all just magnified right now because of the importance of Friday’s game after getting swept by the Guardians. People are just pissed about that and transferring their anger onto Morton.

Gotta ask besides melton do the tigers have the worst pitching farm system in the mlb. Because every guy they have called up has been horrible

Am I crazy for wondering why Morton can’t go to the pen? He throws 100, has crazy movement, he’s just old. He can’t give us an all out inning?

Man, Scott Harris is really turning out to be pretty bad at the building of the major league roster part of the job, which is probably the most important part of the job.
This makes me profoundly sad. I think Morton could have pulled together, but even if not, Iām frustrated that if this turns out to have been his last season, and he was booed out of his last gameā¦
This is why boos piss me tf off. People think Iām āsoftā for being botheredā¦ but imagine an entire career, with injuries and setbacks, and a drive to contribute in such a time with this team and his former manager, to then have your last game be the crowd booing you off the fieldā¦
People shouldnāt boo him, or Maeda, or any player. Unless the player is egregiously phoning it in and has stated soā¦ there is no reason to cut people down, on your own effing team. Yeah, they get paid a shit ton, but this game is their *lives* and means as much to them in a lot of cases as anything.
He sucked BEFORE they traded for him. What did they expect from him? It was a pointless trade at the time and it stayed that way. Tigers went garbage picking at the deadline. It should come as no surprise that they acquired garbage.
