An EMOTIONAL Farewell Leads To A Final Home Game Victory For The St. Louis Cardinals

In their final home game of the 2025 season, the Cardinals take advantage of the Brewers generosity to pick up the win. Hey, it’s JD from Lock on Cardinals. And the boys managed just three hits in the game, but they won by a score of five to one. Mathematically, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but they got seven walks from Brewers pitchers and took advantage of them after a leadoff walk in the second inning. Ivon Herrera belts a two-run home run, his 17th of the year to give the Cardinals a two to nothing lead. Then in the third, two more walks set the stage for a Jose Fermine two-run double. He’d finished the game with three RBI’s on the mound. Matthew Liberator, he was excellent. Goes five innings, striking out six, allows just one run, bullpin toss, four shutout innings to take the final series against Milwaukee. There was an emotional moment before the game when before the first pitch was even thrown, starting third baseman Nolan Aronado was removed from the game by manager Ali Marmal so he could receive a standing ovation from the home crowd. It’s possible that that was his last home game as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. The team will more than likely try to trade him once again this off season. For the latest updates and info, be sure to keep it locked on Cardinals.

Cardinals defeat the Brewers in their final 2025 home game and fans say goodbye to Nolan Arenado.

JD breaks down the St. Louis Cardinals’ impressive 5-1 victory, highlighting Ivan Herrera’s clutch two-run homer and Jose Fermin’s game-changing double.

  1. I didn't get to see the DVR yet. But heard the fan's gave Nardo a nice applause? I know his hitting tailed off towards the end……But I don't believe you'll ever see another 10 time Gold Glover at the "Hot Corner" in St Louis or the MLB? If this is it in a Cardinals uni….."Thanks Nardo!" One of the best defensive 3rd baseman next to Brooks Robinson I've ever had the pleasure to watch. 👏

  2. Yes, keep Fermin and let him play. Trade Gorman and maybe Walker. Bring up Prieto. Keep Donovan, Herrera, Burleson, Winn, Contreras, and hopefully Arenado. Not sure about Nootbar. Maybe keep Scott as late innings defender

  3. Emotional for who? Its pretty hard to get emotional for a guy, that makes 25 mil a year and puts up 2million dollar numbers🤦🏻🤷🏻‍♂️🙏✌️❤️🤍💙🌎🇺🇸

  4. Have always liked Nado, but we should have gotten him much sooner. Great defense and was a pretty good hitter for most of the time we had him. I'd try to not have to pay most of his remaining contract to whoever he ends up with. He will probably help someone for a couple years.
