An EMOTIONAL Farewell Leads To A Final Home Game Victory For The St. Louis Cardinals

In their final home game of the 2025 season, the Cardinals take advantage of the Brewers generosity to pick up the win. Hey, it’s JD from Lock on Cardinals. And the boys managed just three hits in the game, but they won by a score of five to one. Mathematically, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but they got seven walks from Brewers pitchers and took advantage of them after a leadoff walk in the second inning. Ivon Herrera belts a two-run home run, his 17th of the year to give the Cardinals a two to nothing lead. Then in the third, two more walks set the stage for a Jose Fermine two-run double. He’d finished the game with three RBI’s on the mound. Matthew Liberator, he was excellent. Goes five innings, striking out six, allows just one run, bullpin toss, four shutout innings to take the final series against Milwaukee. There was an emotional moment before the game when before the first pitch was even thrown, starting third baseman Nolan Aronado was removed from the game by manager Ali Marmal so he could receive a standing ovation from the home crowd. It’s possible that that was his last home game as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. The team will more than likely try to trade him once again this off season.
