A loss today for the Rangers and a win for the Red Sox and they will be officially eliminated. The Marlins have the chance to continue to play spoilers. That’s the thing too. And the Marlins continue to stay in that playoff race. It’s going to be hard, but you know what, they’re still in it. Merrill had a little bit of a rough outing in Houston, but he’s been a consistent pitcher for a while now in major league baseball and he’s a guy that can keep you off balance. We know that the Marlins are aggressive hitters and a guy like Merrill Kelly. If he’s hitting his spots with his different speeds and locations, he can have some quick innings and he lifts this out into right field. Well, soon was very deep, comes racing in and makes a sliding catch nicely done one away and the pitch check swing did he go around? He did in straight three. So down goes ramirez on a change up and it’s two, up and two down bounces this back to them out. Kelly makes the easy to, to first and it’s a 123 1st inning. You his last start pretty good one. There’s a swing and a Miss Cy and a that’s 98 just blew his front doors in payoff pitch ball four. Langford takes the free ticket. He of course is the ranger leader in walks. Alejandro Osuna is the daddy breaking ball and that one’s driven out to the alley in right field and that one gets down, pops up into the bullpen and that’s a double for Osuna. Unfortunately, it stops Lankford at third base and it just hit the fence. Frankford could have scored two , two to Taez that one, a foul tip held on to by Navarret. That was 99 at the knees great pitch from Yuri and that could be a bit of a bail out there. That’s out number two on Yuri’s second punch out chopper to third Paul. He’s got it. They went with the sweeper. The inning is over and Yuri works around a little bit of trouble here in the first, Yuri Perez was forced into 24 pitches in a scoreless first that a called third strike 98 dotted on the bottom rail and Yuri flashes the smile as he walks in the back of the hill swing and a miss TD inning over quick and easy Helman who has been excellent to kick start his major league career. That one a called third strike 98 paints it on the lower outside corner. Yuri’s got another punch out already. It’s his fifth, got him with a changeup back to back strikeouts for Yuri to begin the fourth inning. He’s now punched out four of the last five rangers that he’s faced. He got him there and Yuri Perez strikes out the side here in the third, bounced out back to the mound his first time up to finish a 123 1st, Kelly and the one pitch is lined through the left side of the infield for a base hit. It was just one to the other way and that is perfect. X runner takes off the throw down to second is off line and a stolen base for Xavier Edwards. No Kyle, that’s the ninth stolen base by the Marlins against the Rangers in this series pitch coming there goes Edwards. The pitch is a ball and the throw to third is also not in time. Another stolen base for Miami got a runner at third base with one man gone Otto as strong situationally as any hitter in the Marlins lineup and Lopez swings and that is crushed high and deep to left field that is banged off the wall. They got both runs last inning, Marcy with a drive to left center field and deep sending Langford back and it’s over his head one hops on the track and over the wall. Every ball that bounces on the warning track. Here the Globe life field goes over the wall. It’s an automatic double to figure out the best way to attack Augustine ramirez and Augustine yanks one down the left field line rolling into the corner hit streak. Now 12 games for Augustine Ramirez who also makes it 30 back to back one out doubles for the Marlins. That might just do it for me. Kelly back on the pitch 891 up for the Rangers Helman on deck and Peterson swing and a miss. It’s a punch out for B there’s one away in the home for the nine man Michael. He 32 is cut on and missed 96. That’s back to back punch outs on the fastball from B two in the home Petersons one to first a diving stop by liam Hicks in the inning is over a perfect 123. 5th inning for Lake Langford has walked and struck out over one of the ball game Osuna and to set to follow that ball smashed deep to left field, hernandez is back that is gone off the facing of the second deck. Lankford hits his 22nd home run of the season to put the Rangers on the board here. It’s 3 to 1 that wakes up the crowd and it’s a leadoff home run. Young zero for two. Struck out his last time up the reach on the wild pitch and that is hit sharply up the middle base knock for josh Young. He turned on an 01 fastball extends that hitting streak now to six games and that’s in the dirt and bounces off the chest protector. Navarret. So Young goes to second on the wild pitch. So a wild pitch will put young into scoring position backer with the 21 and that ball is lined into left center. That’s a base hit for freeman hernandez over to pick it up. Rounding third is young. He scores easily. Cody freeman with the RB I knock. This is a one run ballgame rangers now trail 3 to 2, 89 and one up against win. All of a sudden it’s a one run game 32 Marlins over the Rangers in the top of the seventh inning. 31 pitch. Pauley swinging away lines one out to right center field. Long run for Helman back to the track. He leaps up, it’s off the edge of his glove and it bounces off the shutter out wall is straight away. Central Paulley around second. He’s headed to third. He slides in there and Pauley has a leadoff triple to kick start the top of the seventh inning and absolutely hammers it out to center field. I thought for a second there though Helman was going to make this play because he got back there quickly. I believe the ball touched the inside part of his glove. A big insurance run looming for the Marlins and the batter will be Bryan Navarret that is swung on and lifted in the air to center field, going to be deep enough to score the run back near the track. His helmet, he makes the catch tagging from third and scoring is Graham Pauley, a sacrifice fly has made it 42. Miami top of the ninth inning, Miami leads by two as Sean Armstrong is back on the mound for the Rangers. That one line in the right field falling, quickly falling quickly. It dive from Osuna and he smothered it. No, he did not catch it. Yeah, he smothered it, did not catch it. And that is a leadoff knock for Dane Myers. He is aboard Osuna with a heck of a diving effort. But ultimately, that ball fell and we’ll see if Texas wants to challenge the call. It is a will see Graham Polly. So yet another pitching change mid inning for Bruce first pitch to Paul that one, a looper and a jumping attempt from the shortstop. Durant that hits off the edge of his glove and trickles into shallow center. He tried to time up bunny hop on a little looping liner and that kicked off Durant’s glove and just fell harmlessly to the turf. Jacob Marcy, he has kept his hit streak alive here today. Xavier Edwards has got it in the ball game is over. The Marlins have won their sixth game in a row. They have swept their six series of the season back to back sweeps to open up the road trip for Miami and they down the Rangers in Arlington on this Sunday by a final score of 4 to 2.
