Today, we’re going to be diving into uh one of the worst losses I have seen in a while. It was just all around pretty ugly. Uh, but before that, this episode is brought to you by Mazda. Like our players, we sweat every detail because when you make every move count, pulling off the unexpected is only the beginning. Stay tuned later for highlights in this week’s Moving the Game Forward. Mazda, move and be moved. All right, let’s just jump into this game with our instant reaction. There’s a lot to say, a lot to go over, but also not a lot you feel like you really want to say or really want to talk about. you kind of want to forget this game happened. But uh you know before we do that, we do have to spend an hour breaking it down. Let’s start off uh Lance with your instant reactions to the games to the game today. Yeah. Well, um honestly, after the way that the first two games kind of went, I think my expectations were pretty high for today. Not in the sense of we’re going to go out to Seattle and win because obviously I picked the Seahawks to win on Wednesday night, but I figured the team would be a little better prepared. I figured the team would have obviously a better showing than they did. Um I don’t I I honestly I’m I’m kind of lost for words. Um special teams obviously huge let down. some decision makingaking to me that was questionable especially early on in the game. Um, and like I don’t know like I’m I’m really kind of like to start those two first two games the way that they did and obviously we didn’t come out on top in those games but but to be competitive and to have the ball late in the game with an opportunity to tie or win both games to me is a is a great start. But again, this was the first road test for this team of 2025. And it is not like Seattle is an easy place to play. And I think it was a reminder that there are levels in the NFL. This this is a better team than us. And they showed that today on every single level. Um, and for us, it’s not like it’s going to get any easier because having to fly out and play Buffalo next week is going to be another tough road game for this team. So, I’m I’m a little bit confused. Uh, I wouldn’t say that I’m overly concerned because Seattle is a better team and they kicked our butts and that’s usually how it goes in the NFL with a team that’s that’s well coached and prepared. Yeah, that’s all I got for you. All right, John. What are you doing? I mean, what’s sad is the game was over before it even started, really. Like, that’s the the crazy part. I mean, there were definitely some decisions made. It’s like, why would you choose to go for it fourth down earlier than not go fourth down later and just kick a field goal, all this other stuff. Like, there’s definitely some like growing pains from this game. There are some questionable things from this game, but the special teams meltdown, that was obviously tough one. the defense not playing the way that they should. I mean, this has been a kind of a common problem the first couple of weeks and and again, you look at this game, I don’t know how many positives you can actually take out of this. I I I don’t think Rattler did anything that would lose him this game. You know what I’m saying? Like, it doesn’t look different if it’s Tyler Shook. I don’t think it looks different if you have Julian Blackman back there playing safety or some of the other things. Like, this is just kind of where this team is at. And I think what’s just so disheartening is the fact that you had two games where you were competitive and in this game you just looked like you didn’t even belong on the same field. And so first time they start 0 and3 since 2016. They just didn’t look prepared. Like they didn’t look like a team who either practiced or their head was in the game. Like they even traveled early to this one and such. Like it just looks like they didn’t show up to play the game. And and that’s what’s really hard for me to see is and and the undisiplined uh play penalties more penalties like they had so many more penalties and so that has obviously got to get cleaned up. It looked like it was going down. 11 11 penalties for 77 yards. 11. You can’t win games. You cannot win games. It doesn’t matter the opponent. You can never win games like that. Yeah. Brutal. Gosh. Um I’ve been on this show for three weeks, four weeks, right? So, I’ve never seen Lance at a loss for words. And honestly, I think that that should tell you a lot about where it is right now, right? Like, I expected Lance to come in here and have a rant, but the fact that he starts with I’m lost for words, I think it really does reflect not only where the Saints feel like they are right now, but where a lot of the fans are right now. To me, this is kind of a reset game. Not in the sense of I want to reset after this matchup, which I do, but it feels like this is the type of performance that resets everything we saw the first two weeks. you you walk in, you feel good about certain aspects and you take moral victories and yeah, I think the Saints are at a place where you can have moral victories and feel good about them and you come in with a game that absolutely crushes your morale. This was an extremely disappointing and depleting game. It was disappointing because you felt like you would be a little bit closer. I didn’t think that they beat Seattle, but I also think that Seattle is a step up from what they’ve been facing, right? I think a pertileless uh 49ers team that had a solid defense and you showed some things against their defense probably had people a little fooled. I think that this is what happens when you step up and you play some higher competition. It has me extremely fearful for what was going to what is going to happen against Buffalo next week because the the the Seahawks put up 44 points in three quarters. Three quarters and they don’t have Josh Allen. So this is this is extremely concerning. Not long term, more so just the next two weeks. But we’ll talk about what’s next on the offense. We’ll talk about Shuck coming in, Rattler. We’ll talk about the defense and their concerns. I’m I’m more concerned about what happens when we get to player of the game. And we all have to sit here mute trying to find someone to talk about because it wasn’t a lot of bright spots. It just wasn’t. So, this was a a disappointing game. This was a game that the Saints will quickly try to move on from. I think Cam Jordan a tweet something about the 24-hour rule not applying and he’ll be right and this is where we’ll get back to work for Buffalo next week. Yeah, I I I I feel like this this game is more of a reflection of where this team is than the first two games. Honestly, uh as disappointing as it is to have to say that I just playing those first two games at home, I think kind of saved the embarrassment for week three. Um, and and you know, it’s I feel like we all kind of figured that a reset would wouldn’t be pretty. Um, and and today was was one of those games. And I I mean, I totally agree with you, Darren. I mean, clearly Seattle is a step up from the the first two teams that we we’ve played this season. Um, and and it showed today. And there’s no there’s no running away from that. um 24-hour rules, sure, but they’re gonna have to answer questions about it all week until they get another opportunity and then it’s going to be h, you know, answering questions about how Buffalo is going to do or will do what it’s going to do. Um, so like I I just I don’t know. I think that that as as tough as it is to have these types of shows and conversations, it is a necessary part of a rebuild. Like a rebuild is never ever pretty. It’s never easy. And regardless of if Mickey Lumis or Mrs. Benson or Kell Moore wants to admit it, we are 100% in a rebuild. So as we’re losing games and it hurts and it sucks as a fan to watch and go through this, it’s necessary. And there could be a little bit of gold at the end of that rainbow because if we mess around and get the number one pick, right? Like that’s how you start to get better faster is having earlier draft picks. Um and and obviously we’re only in week three and I’m way way far ahead of myself, but that to me is where this story is kind of leading to. And I think unfortunately and fortunately, let me ask first off, I think that this game is the type of game that makes you think about the 2026 draft. Like that’s when I say reset and it changed everything. I think after the first two weeks you may be sitting here like okay let’s see how this year plays out after this game there’s a lot of fans saying let’s see how the the college season plays out. But let me ask both John Lance Dilly all of you guys if the Saints come out and they lose to the 49ers by 14. They lose by two three scores and it doesn’t feel like it was a competitive game. Does that make this loss feel a little different in you guys’ minds? I mean, maybe a little. I mean, I I think that’s the thing is it’s just like the first two weeks and and or maybe a false sense of where the team was at and then maybe this game is more of a true sense of where they’re at is the undisiplined and just things not going right in all three phases, going to to hell in a hand basket, all this other stuff. I mean, I think that’s kind of where I’m at is is I know it’s the any given Sunday, it’s all the you show up and you play the games, all this other stuff, but this one was just looked like they just weren’t prepared. Like I could see them being at least doing certain things against the Cardinals and certain things against the the 49ers. This one they just couldn’t even get started. And so that was what was disappointing the most for me. Yeah. Um I I think definitely most disappointing. I mean, it was just an overall disappointing game. I’ll get into my my instant rant real quick just because um you know while we’re here and talking about it. Uh Darren, you talked about it being like a demoralizing you know just an overall disappointing game and I thought it’d be funny to to point back to the immediate point in the moment where in the game where I realized man I really don’t care what happens from here on out. Like let’s just get over with it. And it was 30, it was 3:38 PM. It was 30 minutes after the game started. My friend Shay, shout out to Shay, uh, texted me. I don’t think he got that te that that touchdown. And my only response that I could muster up was, who cares? And that is that is that’s really how I felt in that moment. And that’s kind of how I felt uh, you know, feel right now is like at this point that game was terrible. Uh it was it was bad to watch and it was you know again it is the early po points of a rebuild but man Kell Moore a lot of growing pains you know there’s people calling for his job or whatever that’s not happen it’s three games into his first season he he has time to grow but there’s a lot of things and a lot of early trends the presat penalties and overall lack of preparedness that has looked in in some of these games especially come like the start of games have been pretty awful. Uh, so I I think that there’s a lot to grow on, but I don’t think it’s it’s definitely not time to give up on Kellmore. Um, but it was just, you know, game three of what could be a pretty long rebuild or quick if they turn it around after, you know, getting a good draft pick this year. But as for the 2025 season, there’s not a lot of bright spots to look for um, you know, after this game in my eyes. I mean, this is the third straight game Blake Groupy misses a field goal. That’s that’s concerning to me, too. It’s just like you’re paid to kick and this is like once, okay, two games, now the third straight game, and it’s just like certain things like that. I just feel like you got to you got to make sure that stuff like that doesn’t happen because you need everybody you can on this team to do what they need to do and that’s what he’s paid to do. You can’t do it. Not saying a Blake groupy field goal would have been the difference in this game, but that’s a momentum killer to have a drive and then just end in no points. Yeah. And it’s that was actually the funniest moment of the game because if you watch the broadcast, not if you’re just live, but you hear them debating whether or not to go for fourth down on that play. And Charles Davis is saying, I think it’s the right call to go for the field goal because the Saints need points. And as he’s saying, the Saints need points, you see the ball just going right past the upright. And I couldn’t help but laugh. When you’re at the point when you’re laughing at games and moments like that, you know where you are. I don’t know if it was 338, 352. I don’t know. It was at that point though that I knew I was mentally checked out of this game, honestly. So, but that that’s where that’s where it is, man. I think the discipline and groupies misses are probably the two biggest concerns. The discipline has to get under under wraps. Like that. This is something that you can’t go the whole season doing, right? You said 11 penalties, Dilly. 11 for 77 yards. That’s two games with double-digit penalties. Two games with double- digit penalties. And that is a reflection on discipline. That is a reflection on coaching. Now, I that has to get fixed. Yeah. I I I I’ll add one to your your two, you know, the the miskicks. I would say special teams as a whole after today, the penalties. Um, and yet again, I I feel like Kell Moore and poor decision-m um was something today that I I I just couldn’t really understand why he was doing what he was doing and when he was doing it. It just it to me rings rookie coach, guy that’s not sure of himself, guy that really doesn’t necessarily have a plan for what he wants to do in any given moment, right? like the game of football is a bunch of different situational games within the whole grand scheme of game and to me it seems like he’s losing that battle. Um, you know, I mean, start with the first possession, moving the ball a little bit, end up going for fourth fourth down when you could have pinned Seattle back, give your defense a good little bit of momentum there, like, and you don’t get it. I it I just don’t understand. And and something I’m going to I’m going to cut Dylan so you can get to the break. But later in the game, there was a situation where it was it was obviously the game was out of hand and we had two plays to get a first down and it was a third and six, I think, and we ran the ball. And in my mind, I went right to, hey, just because this is four down territory and you have two plays does not mean you need to run the football on the first play. Like, you can throw the ball on third and fourth down and usually will better your chances of making the first down. So, that’s just another decision-making thing. And obviously, we’re look, we we’re at home. We can we can second guess the questioning all we want, but um you know, hopefully he gives us some answers at some point as to why he’s doing the things that he’s doing. And I mean, he he doesn’t owe it to us. I guess he can say whatever he wants, but I would be curious to know. Yeah. Uh and just uh just you mentioned two double digit point uh games with multiple two games with multiple uh double digit penalties. Oh my god, that was a tongue twister. 31 through three games. 31 through three games. 31 penalties. Not Not good. Not good. Don’t think a lot of Le, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think a lot of teams win games, averaging 10 penalties a game. No, not not good teams. I guess maybe two bad teams could be playing against each other and both have a ton of penalties and somebody’s got to win. Yeah. All right. Well, we’ll uh dive in a little bit deeper on the specifics of this game. We’re going to get get to the offense coming up next. And don’t forget to uh leave some questions in the chat for the last segment. You can use uh hashtag at least we looked good uh because those uniforms were pretty good. We’re pretty They look great. So at least we looked good. Drop in your questions for the last segment of the uh of the show. I’ve been playing prize picks lately along with watching Saints games and it can pro provide at least a little bit of something to be happy about if you get something right. I’ve been going heavy in on Chris Olive and Jawan Johnson catches so far this season and it has worked out well. I don’t know about yards because they like to get like three yards at a time or something through the air. Uh but catch numbers are looking pretty good so far this season. So download the Price Fix app today and use code locked on NFL to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code locked on NFL for $50 in lineups after your first $5 play. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. All right, let’s jump into it on the offensive side of the ball. And I’m going to start with uh I think the thing that has been plaguing the team the most on offense and it is the offensive line. Struggles, struggles, struggles. And they need to figure out something at right tackle. Hopefully Tis Fanga uh gets back to full health and starts playing like we expect him to because we talked a lot about his pressures allowed last week and in this game Pro Football Focus has Am Richards with six pressures allowed in 47 snaps. Uh that’s not good. Uh Torelli Simpkins also gave up a fair bit of pressure and the run game still didn’t look great. So, this offensive line is where I wanted to start out today because I think that it is the weakest part of the offense so far this season. Let’s start off with John. Yeah, I mean, I would agree. I mean, this has to be the bread and butter. That was what was the the thing coming into this season and then injuries are part of the game. That has always been the problem is the injuries next man up mentality, but there is no replacing some of these guys, right? And so, no Trevor Penning in there and Talia Fonga. I mean, even if they were in there, I just don’t know if it would have changed anything. That’s the thing that I’m I’m sitting here looking at. And the pre- snap penalties, the holding calls. I mean, it’s it’s it’s just tough to watch because you can’t get the ground game going. And if you can’t get the ground game going, you’re having to drop back. I mean, Rattler what, 39 pass attempts and they ran it, I’m looking at the score, 27 times. I mean, you know, and most of that was early in the game. I mean, they tried some later, but the offensive line just not getting the push, giving up some of the pressures. I mean, Rattler only got sacked once, but and that was later in the game and then they had the one that got wiped out uh from from the penalty. But it is concerning because that is what the identity of the Saints team was supposed to be is their offensive line to run the ball and not have Rattler pass it 40 times a game. That’s not not how they were supposed to draw it up, but that’s how it’s been happening. And so, I get injuries are going to happen, but Cesar Ruiz, he’s a guy that has to play better. And I just don’t know at what point you just say, “Okay, I’ve seen enough.” And I mean, we’re three games into the season, but I just don’t know how much worse it needs to get before you you make a change there. And so, but John, where do you where do you go, John? I know. That’s what I’m saying. We’re gonna bench we’re going to bench Ruiz. Now, now what? I mean, you might have to look at Luke Forner and maybe you put Simpkins on the right side. See if it’s a better better sync with with a guy like Ponga. I I don’t know. That’s the thing is you’re gonna have a lot of football left to try here. And it’s got something’s got to give. I guess that’s my point is that something has to give here and you have to be willing to try something different because if you keep doing the same thing, keep rolling it out hoping that it’s going to be better, that’s the definition of insanity and that’s not going to work for this team. Took three weeks for us to get to maybe we should give Luke Forner a shot. It is things are bleak. I was like I was going to say who who Oh man, here’s the thing. If the identity of your team is weak, what is your identity at the end of the day? Like, if we’re being honest, if your identity is weak, what is your identity? Because you’re not going to be able to run the football. I saw an interesting stat going into the game. Don’t know what it is now, but you had 0.1 yards before contact. That’s run blocking. You have 4.1 after contact. That’s running backs. They have to find some sort of synergy between those two stats. There’s no reason that I think that Kendra Miller and and Alvin Chamra are phenomenal at forcing broken tackles at at eluding defenders. I I think they do that well. I don’t want that to be what they have to do every single carry, though. I don’t want that to be the thing that they have to face in the back field. Okay, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get even a yard forward before I’m contacted. I don’t That is not the recipe to a good running attack, right? When you don’t have a good rushing attack, that’s the recipe to having to lean on your quarterback. And I don’t want to have to lean on my quarterback. We’ll get into the quarterback in a little bit, but I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to run the football. I want to be able to lean on Alvin Chimera. I want to be able to have a three-headed monster if need be between Chimera, uh, Miller, and Neil because, yes, I still like Devin Neil. Like, I want to be able to do those things with my offense instead of having to have Spencer Rattler throw the ball countless times. Rattler had 39 attempts this game. I I know that you you’re losing 44 to13. So, it’s more of a necessity than I feel like it was against the Cardinals, but that’s not a recipe for success for the Saints. That’s not how the Saints need to win. That’s not how they want to win, right? Or that’s not how they want to play because it’s not something that’s going to lead to victories. So, you have to be able to get this together. And I’m with you. I don’t know if I was trying to look up real quick if Raidens played any on the on the right side when he was in Tennessee. Maybe you have a healthy penning and you have Raidens there at guard. you know that it’s but it’s getting to the point where you notice Caesar Ruiz four or five times a game and it’s not because it’s good. It gets to the point where you have your left guard trying to pull around and he can’t get by because Caesar Ruiz is getting knocked back. He’s disrupting the path of the pulling guards, right? Like it’s getting to the point where Joey or not Joey uh Nick Bosa is rushing and Caesar Ruiz is doing a complete turn, right? Like you notice these things. It’s difficult at some point. Who is the guy? I don’t know. But that’s a question for uh uh for Moore to answer. That’s a question that Moore may need to answer very soon. Like I don’t that’s that hey if if they want if they want to hire me as the future GM, I’d be happy to answer that question. And I think and I think you have to I think you have to start getting away from okay, this is the guy that we drafted in the first round. I think Ruiz was a first round pick, wasn’t he? Like we drafted this guy in the first round. we’re going to give them every single opportunity. Well, at some point that that that those opportunities have to run out. And look, here’s something to add to your point, Darian. It’s hard to be a really good running team. If you’re always getting penalized and behind the but behind the sticks. So, if it’s second and 15, you’re probably not running the football. If it’s third and 13, you’re probably not running the football. And and a lot of our runs, I guess this is a PFFD question, like how often are we running on first downs? the most predictable running uh down of all in football. First and 10, how many how often are we running on that down when the defense figures that we’re going to be running. I think doing things a little bit differently could possibly render some different results. But I I I just I think it’s hard to you you your point about 0.1 yards before contact is literally insane. Like if we didn’t have the backs that we have, we’d literally have zero yards rushing. Like it’s it’s incredible to think about that. Like you literally are getting hit at the line of scrimmage every single play pretty much. Like that’s insane when you think about it. Yeah. You can’t And for the record, Raiden’s played right tackle for uh Tennessee. I know we’re talking about guard, but he did play on the right side. Now he’s playing inside. In 2023, he primarily played on the right side. If if Ruiz continues to have these struggles and Penning comes back and he’s able to play and he’s healthy, it it may get to the point where you’re just like, I’ve seen enough and I’d rather put Raidens out there and see what he can do because this it’s I’m tired. I have Richards to the right and I’m seeing Ruiz more often. It’s just 51 keeps flashing in my my face every like every fifth snap. It feels like I’m seeing Ruiz Ruiz Ruiz Ruiz and it’s it’s a glaring hole that has to be addressed at some point. Uh I I think I’m I’m looking at I think I see seven or eight, this is just off of me looking at the play like the playbyplay, but I think I see seven or eight runs on first down in the game and only one of them went for at least four yards. I think it was the first play of the game on offense for them. that went for eight yards on the left side because they ran at Banks and Simpkins. So, there you go. Yeah. Yeah. The second play, no, the first play of the game was uh was a was a nine yard pass and then after that first down and then they got a first down run for one yard and ended up punting. Uh so, yeah. Oh, yeah. I’m thinking second drive. My bad. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. It was uh Yeah, it was just it was just ugly. I think is the is the way I would say on offense. Um just to talk about it just for a little bit before we go. Um Bratler is not the problem. I I he has not been the problem. I I don’t think it’s it’s a a situation where like man the Saints are 0 and three. You better put in Shuck. See what they have. I feel like if Rattler hasn’t been able to win in these situations, I think there’s no reason to believe Tyler Shuck would have won any of these games. Uh, and I do think Rattler, this was probably his worst game. There were a lot of early on there were a lot of missed passes, a lot of miscues, and he’s and he’s playing with fire, man. Like several dropped interceptions in this game. the pick that he threw. I understand he was trying to make a play, but you can’t throw that ball there. You just can’t you just can’t do it, you know? And and uh for somebody who has played now what he’s 0 and 10 as a starter, like I think he’s kind of got to know better. Sure, it was a I believe it was a fourth down play and he’s just trying to make a play, but I mean tuck the ball down and run and try to get it with your legs at that point because you know there’s I mean it’s just it’s just tough, man. Like the it it He’s not the main problem, but he’s not uplifting everybody around him in the way that you would want your franchise quarterback and your quarterback of now and the future to do. Um, and I’m not saying he can’t do that or can’t be that, but right now that’s he’s not that. He’s not the problem, but he’s also not the reason why we’re winning games. you know, where there’s there’s other teams that have quarterbacks that uplift everybody around them. I mean, think back to the Drew Breezy years. I mean, that dude made everybody around him better. So, um, he’s not the he’s not the sole issue, but he’s got to play better and he’s got to do a better job of not putting the team and the football in particular in harm’s way. I mean, I think there was two passes that I can recall. Like the first one when they went for the fourth down, people said Chimera stopped running. I don’t know, maybe the ball could have been placed a little bit better. I mean, this is six and one half dozen the other I feel like in some aspects, but the one to L in the end zone, it looked like it was a little behind him. So, I mean, there were some passes that I feel like were a little bit behind the the receiver some, but again, to go back to the thing where I don’t think there’s anything Rattler did that lost him the game necessarily. And even if it was Tyler Shuck in there, it’s going to be the same result. Like that’s the thing is I think this is more about the the struggles on defense and the complete meltdown on special teams. Like this is probably the bigger takeaway for me than they just didn’t do anything on offense. I mean the play calling in certain times and the situational football that was obviously a big thing. But well and and again no big plays. None. Yeah. No big play. They didn’t even try and they didn’t have a secondary like the Seahawks were down. Julian Love and all these other guys and they didn’t take any deep shots to nothing. Nothing. Yeah. I don’t I don’t think that Rattler was the problem, but I do think him not being a part of the solution at times uh specifically in this game. I do think it’s something that plays in right because at the end of the day, he may not be the problem, but he also doesn’t have a win on his resume. Not he doesn’t have impressive wins, not he doesn’t have a lot of wins, he doesn’t have a win on his resume. And though I agree to a certain to a certain extent that okay, he’s not the sole reason over these first three games, specifically in weeks one and two, I thought he played well enough to where they could have won that game in those first two weeks. But I feel like there’s only so long that we can keep reading in between the lines and there’s not wins before they finally say, I want to see what Shuck can do. Right? Like I agree with you guys. I really do. But I don’t think that that’s separate from eventually wanting to see what the younger guy does if you don’t start to get wins. So, um I’m not going to go too long on that point. I just think that it’s something to monitor. Um John, you mentioned that we scored 13 more points than the Falcons. We also played our second year quarterback a little bit longer than the Falcons. And I do think that says a little something, right? Like he got benched. He got benched for Kurt Cousins. I saw a report earlier today about what the Falcons are looking for from Kurt Cousins. Then a couple of hours later, I see him in the game. So, we’re not at panic mode, but I do think it’s something to monitor. And next week, I don’t think it’s going to be much better. So, I think you’re going to have two weeks where it’s questionable play from the quarterback. Uh maybe a large margin of defeat and then it becomes a question of when does Shuck get in. Those questions start to rearise. And I thought that it shouldn’t be here after two weeks. After four, I think it’s going to be right on the tip of many people’s tongue. Yeah, I I I would I would agree. It is. And just to be clear, uh, you know, not defending RER or anything or anything like that, if the Saints do, you know, continue these performance where Spencer RER looks solid and they go and the end of the year they have the first pick, you better believe they’re looking at a different quarterback. Uh, so yeah, that’s just that’s the quarterback right now. It’s definitely not the biggest issue, but it’s also not the solution. Um, and then let’s take a little bit of a look at what is coming on the defensive side of the ball. What what’s next? And how do they go uh how do they go from giving up 44 points to the Seattle Seahawks? This episode is brought to you by Maza’s Moving the Game Forward. For those who believe it’s not just about playing the game, it’s about redefining it. There are moments that do more than just put points on the board. They move crowds, move culture, and keep moving the game forward. Now, I know you might be wondering who moved the game forward for the Saints this week. Uh I And for me, I went with the clock, the game clock. It hit zero eventually. It was a match of mercy that we all got to move on to a better part of our day, listen to the state squad postgame show, uh and put the blowout loss officially behind us. There wasn’t much to count on on the field. The Saints couldn’t couldn’t execute. But what was there and reliable? It was the play clock. Play clock. It kept moving and it kept moving away from that one. It kept moving and we all just knew that eventually it would be over. So, thank you for the reliability. Play clock. When you move, when you follow what moves you, the expected is only the beginning. And just like that, there’s more to every highlight. There’s more to a Mazda vehicle. Mazda move and be moved. That’s your second strike, Dilly. That’s your second strike. Second strike. Man. Oh, man. I needed that comic release. Dillan’s ad. I I am going to have Chad GBT write every ad read from now on and ask it to not put in any any confusing words because that is uh it’s where we’re at. I cannot uh you know whatever move. There we go. Um the defense. Okay. Okay. The defensive side of the ball. Defense. We’re talking about defense. That’s not even the quote. I don’t know what that was. Uh, let’s talk about somebody broke Dylan. He’s just saying stuff to try to get away. Yeah, I know. All right. Well, let’s defense. Where do you want to start? Let’s start with Darien. Oh, man. I had a lot to say, huh? Spotlight on me. No. Um, they go from giving up 44 points to the Seahawks to 45 against the Bills. Um, I just don’t think that this is going to be a step up next week. You have a lot to take care of. I think that hopefully you can get Chase Young back on a serious note. Hopefully you can get Chase Young back and we can see if he’s helps to boost that pass rush in some way. I think that right now there’s not enough in too many pivotal positions. There’s not enough at corner. There’s not enough at edge, right? Like I’m we’re gonna do play of the game. So I’m I’m gonna leave my talk and please no one claim Quincy Riley. I’m gonna say it right now. Like I’m just gonna throw it out there. probably go with him because of his one play. But it’s time to start getting some of the young guys some action in games like this. It’s time to start thinking about it. If we’re having conversations around Caesar Ruiz, we should have conversations around Riley. We should have conversations around Stman. Like we we should have these conversations on whether or not young players can get into the game, especially when they’re blowouts, right? Like the Seattle starters sack at the end of the third quarter, so you have the whole fourth quarter. I would have liked to see some of the younger players get in a little bit earlier. I just I am about the future. I think the Saints are about the future. I just think that some of their actions don’t align with that vision. So, when it comes to the defense, I want to see some health with Chase Young. And then I also want to see some youth with some of the guys out there because it that’s what it’s about to me. It’s about evaluating know what you have because this is the best time to get that in the midst of a rebuild. I don’t want to give up, right? I know it’s only week three, so I don’t want to sound like I’m giving up as if, all right, just everything hits the fan, you’re done. Put all your backups in and see who’s going to be here for 2026, but I do think it’s time to start evaluating some of these guys in live reps. Uh, I just want to address this real quick. Can we stop talking about the Falcons? Their failure doesn’t help us. Speak for yourself. I need something to get through this season. I need I need to get I need something to get through this season. Sorry, I just had to address that while we were while we were on there. No. Um, yeah. No, it I I think they got at least one win this season, though. Um, yeah, John. No, it’s not the time. Whose team are you? No, it’s not the time. Hey, now’s not the time. The other side of the coin, that’s all. Yeah. No, of course. Okay. All right. The other side of the coin is the Atlanta Falcons. Um, uh, let’s see. Let’s talk about It Yatam and Quincy Riley. I think that, you know, Darien, you talked a little bit about you teased it. Um, that’s a replacement I think has to happen sooner rather than later. Ayatam didn’t look as bad this week, but that’s just because they weren’t picking on him as much. Uh, I think the biggest concern in coverage on this team right now is number 20 Pete Wernern. That is he’s getting bullied bullied every week. this year. Another week where, you know, I don’t love PFF coverage stats, but it’s good for an initial initial look at it. He was targeted four times, gave up 69 yards, uh, nice on defense, and then Kool-Aid was targeted a bunch, too. He gave up two catches, uh, on three targets for 59 yards. And uh you know, it’s overall just not a great day for the defense, but I think Pete Warner is the biggest uh biggest hole on the defense right now for me. And it’s it’s a shame because he’s playing so well against the run, but he’s almost unplayable in coverage this week this year. And you know what, Dylan? Like I see people saying it’s only week three. And yes, I acknowledge it’s only week three. I don’t want to just press the panic button, smash the panic button. I’m a saying this is something something to monitor, but then also b it’s not just week three. Like it’s not as if we stepped in feeling like Pete Warner was this stalward on the defense. There was question marks going in. So it’s week three of this season, but it’s not as if everything just refreshed because the season was over. You take all of that information and you make it into your decision. Like that all factors in. So I see some of the it’s week three comments and I I do agree to a degree. I agree to a degree, but at the same time I can’t ignore some of the concerns I had going into the season as well, you know. So, that’s that’s what I’ll say on the it’s week three comments. Yeah, I I think uh there was a um a bit of positive for me in in that Seattle averaged 2.6 yards for per rush today, right? And and a a a team that needed to get better against the run after last season and how awful it was to see that today was was positive. I I would, you know, I mean, how many carries did they have? 33 rushing attempts for 87 87 yards. I I will take that. Mhm. Um part part of the issue uh though beyond them being okay against the run when you watch this game whenever we were throwing the football, it’s like you’re like holding your breath a little bit. Is somebody going to be open? Is the ball going to be in the right place? Then you watch Seattle. whenever they were throwing the football, which was only 20some times, they always had guys running wide open. Not always, most of the time. So, at some point, it’s like, okay, well, what what what are they doing schematically offensively to be able to get their guys open? Or is it, hey, they’re calling the right plays at the right time? It just looks different when we’re on offense compared to everybody else that we’re playing against. We have guys that are wide open two and three and four yards down the field. They’ve got guys open 16, 18, 25, 45, 69 yards down the field. We just can’t we, for whatever reason, we just the offense is like I mean, Chris Olive, what do you have today? 10 catches, 56 yards, not even six yards per catch. Sure, he was active. And I think he looked the best today as he’s looked all season as far as catching the football, running after the catch, getting hit, not limping off the field. Like he looked he looked like he was engaged. Like I I liked what I saw in in that manner. Um and I know we’re supposed to be talking about the defense, but it’s all good. You know, like just the the the defense, good job against the run, especially late, you know, like they had a little bit of pride about them to me. like that. That was important to see. You know, you’re getting beat by 30 plus points, but you’re still going to have a little bit of pride in and getting yourselves off the field a couple of times even though Seattle had their whole entire second team, second unit offense on the field. Um, but honestly, I like no pass rush, zero sacks. Um, short fields. Uh, I mean, you know, like it’s it’s just today was the perfect storm for them to go and get shellacked and and and honestly like what’s next for the defense? I don’t have a clue. I don’t know. And maybe Darien’s right. Maybe we need to start seeing some of these young guys earlier. Um, Kool-Aid’s got to play better. You’re the oldest guy on your defense. Now I’m second oldest. Your oldest guy guys on your defense can’t be your best players. I I just I just like they should not be at this point and and you know like some of these younger guys have got to start stepping up and making some plays. The defense has to find a way to create more turnovers. Like the the last one, sure, it counts because it was a fumble and we got the ball, but like backup really third or fourth string running back. Like I I just I don’t know. I don’t know where they go. It’s because it’s it’s definitely it could get ugly even quicker next week if they don’t figure something out. Yeah. John, what are your biggest thoughts on defense right now? I think Lance kind of hit on it. It’s the pass rush. You know, if you would have came into this game and I would have told you the Saints were actually tied for second in the NFL with eight sacks coming into this game, they would probably like, “Huh?” Because today they didn’t have anything. Like I may have saw Carl Granderson’s name mentioned once. Cam Jordan wasn’t in there, you know, and I just don’t think this magically gets better just because Chase Young comes back. I just don’t see the pass rush just magically transforming. I think this is a big problem. And Sam Darnold only 18 pass attempts today, 14 to 18. They only hit the quarterback twice and one was Brian Breaz and the other was Jonah Williams. And I’m pretty sure Jonah Williams was one on Drew Lock. So I don’t know that it was on Sam Darnold. The Seahawks defense hit quarterback eight times in this game. So it it’s just a matter of getting home for me. like there’s there was just so many plays you just don’t see any push like there’s no push from anybody and and that’s a problem and and so while you can say look the run defense looks better I thought the run defenses look pretty good the first few weeks but at the same time if you go peel back some layers they’ve given up some big plays they’ve done some of the things the third down defense I mean they were three of nine today but they they I mean that’s like I don’t know what how to celebrate that you can’t celebrate that you know what I mean like they were giving up 50% tied for 29th in the league coming in on third down. There’s a lot of things that need to get better on this defense. It starts up front. I think the pass rush is obviously the key thing, but you’ve got Josh Allen next week and you got Cook. You You’re going to have your work cut out for you. And I just don’t see a Chase Young return or something magically changing that’s going to say I’m going to slow down the Buffalo Bills because they just got too many weapons and they’re better. They’re way better. their league’s better than what the Saints are. And that’s just the cold hard facts of it. And so linebacker play, Deari looks fantastic still. I mean, he’s doing his thing. Pete Warner at some point, you got to figure that one out. Um I I JSN today, he was lighting him up. I knew he was going to be a problem the entire game, but man, he just you’re giving up too many big plays still. You’re not getting a pass rush. You’re still struggling with some tackling. You’re still struggling with just kind of the fundamentals here. And that’s the thing is you fix that with coaching, but you have to also execute because you can coach it, but if you don’t execute it, that’s the other part of the coin. So, it’s it’s a little bit of everything to say what’s next on defense. The biggest thing is be competitive, try to continue to play some game and and you got to have a a short memory here and then be willing to try something different, right? Like what you guys were saying, if it’s Quincy Riley, okay, put him in. If it’s Danny Stzman, go ahead. Okay, put him in. Christian Boyy’s been riding the bench. Like, we had this great training camp in preeason. Why is a guy like that just riding the bench? I mean, guys like Mason Typton, why are they on the roster if you’re never going to see them on the field or play him and stuff like that? There’s too many of these players that are like that that you just aren’t seeing. And so, you got to be willing to try something different here. And it’s it’s tough watching that game because Seattle consistently for the first three quarters rushed three guy or four guys and got pressure almost all the time and they were in there all the time. Yeah. Yeah. Dar and and let me say this about the Saints pass rush. They had eight sacks. They were second in the NFL, but they also were very low in pressure percentage. And I think that when you’re looking at pressure that those two stats kind of fly in the face of each other. And I think that the pressure was going to be the one that won overall because you weren’t getting to the quarterback frequently. Like they they had three sacks, I believe, against San Francisco. But for the majority of the game, M. Jones was comfortable in the pocket. That is a bigger reflection of where I think the pass rush was. So these type of games, they didn’t I think that the sacks masked that this type of game was inevitable. Like this was going to happen because the Saints have not been able to consistently get pressure. They did a better job of turning pressures to sacks, but they have not been getting to the quarterback often. So, I don’t think that this was a surprise to me. Next week, I don’t expect it to be a lot better, right? Like, these are things that I don’t know if you I agree, John. I don’t know if this gets fixed with a Chase Young addition. That’s me being hopeful, right? I don’t know if it gets fixed. It could just be a personnel thing. Personnel, execution, coaching, all the things mixed together. But this is not a good pass rush as currently constructed. And today really exposed that because there was no sacks to mask the pressure rate. Well, I guess we’re not going to be giving a uh a pass rusher our player of the game flowers, but uh we’ll get into our player of the game flowers. And if you have any questions, drop them in the chat hash at least we looked good. Uh, and we’ll try to get to a couple of questions if y’all have any uh for the game because I don’t think we have a we don’t think we have one yet. So, drop them in the drop them in the comment section if you’re listening live. And if you’re not listening live, I don’t blame you because it’s who would want to listen to something right after that game. But, uh, let’s wrap up wrap that up. Let’s start with Darien because he he claimed his early on. So, let’s let’s get into it. Let’s go Daren. Um, I really don’t think that there was a player who stood out a lot in this game. So, I’ll be really interested to see, you know, which route that everybody goes, but I did think my favorite moment was Quincy Riley forcing a fumble. Um, in a game like this, you try to find any sort of bright spot. And what I’ll do is I’ll tie it to his past. And, you know, as a defensive back, you’re going to look at his ability to get interceptions, but I’ll put it all together that he’s been a guy who over his collegiate career showed the ability to get to the ball. And in this game today, he got to the ball. It’s one of the reasons that I want to see him on the field. I would actually argue that when it comes to Ike versus Quincy, my desire to see Quincy is more about Quincy. Like, I just actually am excited about him as a prospect and his ability to get turnovers because the Saints don’t really have that on the team that much. You had it in Tyron, he retires. You had it in Blackman, he goes down with an injury. This is the type of player that I think the Saints need. And Kell Moore talked about him at length. Um, did he have a standout game? No. But I would argue he had one of, if not the standout positive moment for the Saints. So, I’ll give him the player of the game in a matchup like this. I like that. I definitely think that it was the number one like fun moment because, you know, you know, you finally see Riley, everyone’s begging to see him. He gets on the field, he he plays solid whenever he’s on the field. You know, you have to go back and watch it because, you know, who knows what the defensive backs were doing in that game. Sure wasn’t covering. Uh, but Quincy Riley coming in, forcing a turnover, getting the ball, you want to see that energy. Um, and you know, I think especially in the Brandon Saley defense, you want to, you know, you want corners who can tackle, who will tackle, and then, you know, leading with the shoulder into the ball resulted in a nice play. And then, you know, shout out to shout out to Pete Werner and the defense for having us back. And it was the bad moment, but they did not wait to celebrate. They they hyped him up. they gave him his flowers for the big moment despite the loss. And I think that’s kind of what you want to see, you know, as much as you can in a game like this. Uh whenever it’s a blowout, you want to see someone uh delivering some hype moments and something to cheer about. Uh and I think Quincy Riley did that would he would have been my pick if uh if you didn’t go there, Darien. I’m glad glad I called dibs. Uh John, who’s your who’s your guy? Yeah, I think uh I’m just going to say this before I up until the interception, I thought I was going to say Spencer Rattler, but I’m going to give it to Chris Lave. 14 targets, 10 catches. I know his yards per catch were sucky. I mean, but 57 yards, but I think it’s a good building block to see a little bit better chemistry with Spencer Rattler in my opinion. So, again, I think it’s just building blocks because, you know, with the things that we’ve seen in the past couple of games is they just haven’t been on the same page as much. again just the the touchdown pass if if he leads him a little bit more I think has a better shot at getting that one but you know in a game that doesn’t have a lot of bright spots on it I guess I would go Chris just because the sheer volume and things that he had to do there were some things where he was able to get yards after the catch and get first downs and such and just a lot of creativity it wasn’t just a one single one note route from Chris he did a lot of different things at the route tree and so that’s where I would go with this Lance. Yeah. Uh, generally when when you’re speaking of players of the game, players of the year, etc., etc., like whatever superlative you want to give them, you’re thinking about somebody who stands out. Um, and and I I you know, not trying to shoot down your your guy, Darien, but that was a play to me that stood out. So, like, yeah, I’m I’m okay with that. like what what what was the moments in the game that made us go, “Oh, okay.” Like I like I like that. I have an honorable mention. You know me, I like I like to play by my own rules. It says players. I’m gonna do this two weeks in a row or I guess I wasn’t there last week, but the last time you guys get it. Uh how about Jack Stall? Like yeah, first career touchdown. Nice catch in the back of the end zone. Getting his feet down, securing the ball. Like hey, congratulations to him. like I I I like what I’ve seen from him. They keep calling him the blocking tight end, but we saw in the preseason that he can catch the ball as well. So happy to see him make a play, get in the the scoring uh department for the first time in his young career. Like that’s great. I I I will say honorable mention for me. But to me, it’s Deario Davis. like a dude who’s 35 years old that still plays with the most energy on your whole entire defense that is still making plays all over the field is still running backs down from the backside to make tackles behind the line of scrimmage. like dude is a baller and and I I text one of my buddies earlier and said, “Man, I feel bad. I feel bad for Tamario that like you know his his career now, which probably doesn’t have a lot of years left, is is going to be I’m not going to say wasted because I I don’t I don’t I don’t like using that term a lot, but he’s gonna it’s going to get spent on a team that’s in a a rebuild and playing the way that it’s playing.” Like it’s unfortunate because he is such a great player and the attitude, the effort, the energy that he plays with it. It some of the younger players should really take note with with not just the plays that he makes, but the attitude with which he plays, the energy to which he brings every single time out. Like he he he’s not the player that he was seven, eight years ago. We all know that. Like it’s Father Time is undefeated. Sure, he’s slowing down, but he still looks like one hell of a player out there. He’s still getting doubledigit tackle games at 35 years old. Like, I think he plays with a level of energy and pride that not a lot of players in the whole entire league play with. But when we’re talking specific to this team, just watch a game and it just you can see he radiates the type of energy that if I was a coach or a general manager, I want 11 of those guys. I that’s that to me is what like he plays inspiring football and and I’m happy that he’s on our football team. I think that’s I think that’s a fair pick. Um and I really don’t know where else I would go after I was thinking about it. Uh Kai Kroger had a couple of nice punts. Uh you know, but he also had a punt. He also had he also had a punt block watch. So can’t can’t give him the play of the game there. I was I was actually just That wasn’t on him, though. That was not I mean that that like not not only not only did the guy who blocked the punt come unblocked, but they gave him a shortened edge because for whatever reason that right wing jumped inside. So, they gave him an even shorter path to the punter. I mean, like I don’t know what else he could have done except for maybe like fake punt it, run to his left a little bit, and then just try to get a little punt off. Like I honestly um but yeah, I mean, my bad. I mean to cut you off, but I I got to take I got to take the the hit off of him a little bit on that one because like there was literally like nothing he could have done about that one. Um I think I might go with Kevin Austin Jr. I think I saw him play one snap. go out there, block his guy, and then get back to the sideline. And honestly, what more can you ask from him? If there’s one player who went out there, one for one, he says, if there’s one player that went out there, did his job, it was Kevin Austin Jr., No, I I do I’ll go with Kai because I think that Kai Kroger, he was the guy that not a lot of us expected to win that job, whatever was going on. And uh you know, then he got the job and it hasn’t been perfect. you know, the block punt wasn’t his fault or whatever, but he did have a really good punt uh punt punt today. Uh and so I’ll I’ll give him some just because there’s not much, you know, there’s not much going around there. Wasn’t a ton. Chris Rump is is still uh active and efficient whenever he gets into the game. That’s nice to see. Um, but yeah, overall it just again, final words on this game, I’m gonna go with uh, you know, man, I sure hope that the gaming is the Bills goes better. Uh, I don’t think that it’s going to. Uh, but, you know, all right, that’s that’s my those my closing thoughts on this game is whatever. That’s stunked. That’s stunk. And then, uh, let’s move on. Couldn’t do diddly poo to to quote the great Jim Mora. All right, Daren, what are your closing thoughts? I’ll go optimistic. I was thinking I was like, man, I haven’t really said much good all day. Uh, the Dolphins looked terrible. The Dolphins looked terrible in week one and then we saw them compete with the Bills. So, you know, week-by-eek basis, it doesn’t feel confident to say that they’ll go out there. They’ll go out there and play well with the Bills. But hey, you never know, right? Maybe we just need a players only meeting or whatever the office did. Oh my goodness. Players only beating. Oh, I I think I I think we’ve we’ve only got two more weeks um before we start seeing some real changes. Um and and I’m not I’m not talking only Spencer Rattler. Like I I think it’s, you know, you you go to Buffalo, nobody’s going to pick the Saints to win that game. So, let’s just move on to New York um and the Giants. If we don’t win, if we don’t win that game, I think it’s it’s you got to start making some changes. Um 0 and five, nothing really looking up. Um so like you really have to um it’s and to me it’s not even about seeing what you have. It’s about what we have right now is not good enough. So we need to go to somebody else. Like give somebody else a chance. It’s not even let me see what I have for the future. It’s these guys aren’t working. Let’s swap them out and put some other guys. And then we know like it’s the NFL. There’s not a hundred guys on a roster. You can’t replace everybody. We get that. But there are certain guys that have have not just a reputation of not playing well or playing consistently, but have shown that it’s reared its ugly head yet again in this season. And you know, at some point you’ve got to give other guys opportunities to go out there and compete. You know, John, close us out with your closing thoughts. Yeah, I mean, you look at the Sunday games. Um, the Packers were supposed to run the table, right? They thought they could go undefeated. They lost to the Browns. That was a really fluky one, but you got So, three games down, you got 14 more to go. I mean, you’re just going to have to see where the chips fall. I mean, we’re we’re talking about a team that most everybody said four and 13, five and 12. I think this is the hardest part of their schedule, the brut most brutal part of their schedule. And I I think this is just kind of playing out how we thought it would probably play out. You might have said, “Oh, well, they have a chance. They have this and stuff, but if we’re being realistic, they were going to probably be at this point anyway.” Um, and and so now you just got to see where the Chips fall. And it is a week- toeek thing. We’re not going to expect them to beat the Bills. I I would be absolutely 100% floored if they come back and just magically find a team that can beat the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo of all places. So, I just don’t see it. But after that, the Giants, I think, are your test. If you can’t beat the Giants, like Lance said, then it’s time for changes. And I mean, drastic sweeping changes. You got to look at trades. You got to look at all sorts of things. It’s it’s it’s you’re a rebuilding team. And I just don’t understand for the life of me why you don’t ex embrace that or say that when everybody else knows that it’s a rebuilding team. And so you you got to be honest with yourself. And if you are in a position like they’ve traded away future assets to get certain players that just to fill out their roster and that’s not really the the management that you want to do. So maybe they need to look at something different. And I mean, it starts up top. And so, they got to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and they got to figure this thing out because you can’t go in to to the by-week, you can’t go in the next several games and not win a game out of the first six, seven games that you have. You just can’t do it. Um, I just think that if this they at some point they need to acknowledge that it’s a rebuild because if this is your not rebuild performance I think that there are a lot of really big problems and I think there are a lot of big problems overall already. So they don’t need anymore. So but you know what there are no problems with it’s the eight squad show. We’re a perfect, you know, perfectly run and it goes smoothly and it always ends exactly at an hour and only always starts exactly on time. So they, you know, we’re a model of consistency that the New Orleans Saints could look after. But uh until we’ll see you next week, but until then, thank you for listening to the State Squad Show. Check out me, John, Lance, and Darion on our socials for the latest. will be right back here on Wednesday to talk a little bit more about this loss and then look forward to seeing if the New Orleans Saints can beat the Buffalo Bills. Spoiler alert, no.

The New Orleans Saints were blown out by the Seattle Seahawks, looking weak across the board. What went wrong with the coaching? How did Spencer Rattler perform? What’s next on defense? All that and more with our instant reactions.

  1. We are entering dark times as saints fans. This rebuild should've started soon after Sean Payton left. Gayle won't fire Mickey because that's low key his girlfriend lol. I don't think the coaches are even in control of who is on the team. This is all on MICKEY and until he's gone we will continue to suck like this

  2. After three games, I'm convinced that Moore was the wrong hire. I see him so far as a guy who was lucky to have a great roster in Philly, and once he got here, what he has sold to players is starting to get stale quick. I could see a fire sale in the coming days and weeks with Kamara, Cam, DeMario, and other vets gone in a fire sale. It's best to recoup picks and possibly see another change at head coach and finally at GM because where this team is heading is purgatory.

  3. I know they keep saying how much of a "Genius" Kellen Moore is…

But our team needs some damn DISCIPLINE! He's gotta drop his nuts and DEMAND more from his team. This crap is RIDICULOUS

  4. This is get back for choosing Derek Carr and that Bum of a former head coach over Michael Thomas.. Rattler never passed the eye test for me as a starting quarterback in the NFL🤦🏿‍♂️🚮

  5. Embarrassing and Inexcusable ! This Team is totally unprepared and obviously poorly Coached ! As a Retired High School and College Coach I’ve never seen a complete collapse in all aspects of a Team like this in one week ! Special Teams was a Disaster ! Grupe needs to be replaced ! Rattler is getting no help from this Staff ! Poor Play Calling and bad decisions by the Offense . Moore looks like he’s over his head ! Both the Saints and the Pelicans are both perennially bad organizations now ! The City deserves better ! Mrs. Benson either has to make changes or sell the Team to someone that can make those changes ! Loomis has to go ! He’s responsible for this mess !

  6. I guess im just a bad fan. Im rooting for fun competitive losses. i am totally fine losing every game because honestly, who on this team is superbowl Caliber starters, who on this team can we put franchise labels on I've been wanting this since drew left definitely when Sean left Dennis made me hate watch the saints now idk it's like taking medicine 🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. It's not as bad as the score indicates. Seattle could not consistently run the ball, but had great pass pro. Saints had about 5 min. more time of possession. Rattler only got sacked twice and made some nice 3rd down conversions. The blocked punt and the 95 yard punt return by Seattle are really the only two big blunders the Saints made. If Rattler would have hit a wide open Kamara in the 1st qtr. 40 yards down the field, it would have changed the complexion of the game early on.

  8. This game proves, CARR did not deseve the hate from saints fans. One good QB can not lift 52 terrible players. The saints cant win with rattler. The saints cant win with carr. The saints cant win with winston. The saints cant win with dalton. The saints cant win with 3 different head coaches.
