Tests today showed that 49ers Pro Bowl DE Nick Bosa suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Sunday’s win over Arizona, sources tell ESPN. It’s a clean tear, but Bosa now will need season-ending surgery.

  1. I take the blame on this one. I wore my Kittle jersey during game 1 and he got hurt and now this was the first game with my Bosa jersey and now hes done for the year

  2. I thought the 49ers were stupid to load up on D linemen during the draft. I was wrong and bad and I feel bad.

  3. We get a good discount re-signing him right? Won’t have to be a Micah breaking 50 million a year contract.

  4. Fuckkkk! At least Mykel Williams is getting better every week and Bryce Huff is playing like a top-5 EDGE.

  5. Year after year we lose absolutely key pieces to horrible injuries. How does this possibly happen such regularity?

    Fuck.

  6. Trying to be positive here. Huff off the edge has looked FAST. I’d love to see perhaps an in season trade for another quick guy on the outside. Williams looks powerful playing the inside on passing downs. Kalia Davis has plays where he looks completely unblockable. Collins will continue to develop. Even without bosa, who if we’re taking off the Homer glasses has been comfortably in the A-B tier of pass rushers below the S tier of Garrett, Watt, Hendrickson, etc., I still like what I’ve seen. I think the pass rush will suffer far less than it has in previous seasons where he’s been out.

    Let’s hope at least…

  7. We’re leading the NFL with most salary cap on the IR, yet still winning.

Seems like 49ers need to overhaul their strength and conditioning coaching staff, and increase training camp duration for an extra two weeks for conditioning, especially leg days. Lastly all contracts should have a provision that if players skip camp and subsequently get injured they lose their fucking guarantees.

  8. Am I the only one who feels like the season isn’t over despite the news? It definitely a gut punch for sure for but the Dline didn’t really skip a beat even after Bosa exited from the game yesterday. It’s early but I feel like they killed it in this past draft where dealing with Bosa injury is doable.

  9. I’m convinced DeBartolo prob. broke a voodoo priestess’ heart in ‘96 or something cause there’s just no way. Injuries are part of sports but this is next fucking level.

  10. This is a huge loss. Defense won’t be the same. Only 3 games into the season and we don’t have Purdy, Kittle, Aiyuk, Bosa, Jennings

  11. Professional sports championships these days are basically an award given out to the contending team with the fewest injuries to key players. I don’t remember it being like this back in the 90’s, when I first started paying attention to sports.

  12. How I follow the 49ers’ season:

    1. Assume everyone is on season-ending IR.

    2. Be shocked that we can put players on the field.

    3. Hope no one gets hurt.

    4. Cringe at every tackle.

    5. Repeat.

  13. Does the injury suck? Absofuckinglutely. No question. But the season is by no means over because of this. Bosa was not constantly sacking quarterbacks. Yes the line is noticeably different with him not on the field, but they held up after he left yesterday. There are still studs in there. They’ve won without most of their offense so far and let’s remember that Fred Warner exists. Maybe Lynch will swing a trade somehow. Saying the season is toast is a huge albeit understandable overreaction.
