Chiefs vs. Giants REACTION ๐Ÿˆ ‘NO CONSISTENCY’ in Kansas City’s offense – Herm Edwards | SportsCenter

The Giants hosting the Chiefs. Both teams going into this game in desperate need of a win because no one has been able to get on that board yet. Russell Wilson. Patrick Mahomes, who I said this earlier. I think he showed up to the game wearing aluminum foil. Second quarter, Chiefs up 6 nothing. Second and 10. Patrick Mahomes. The pass to Kelsey was tackled for the two- yard loss. Not their usual chemistry. But Bucker, that’s weird. He misses wide right. Kelsey and Andy Reid getting into it on the sidelines. Some fractures there. H third quarter. Chiefs now lead 96. Wow, what a Taquan Thornton. That was a great throw. Chiefs up 166. Russell Wilson, can you do anything? No. Tackled for a loss there. Giants had to settle for a field goal to make it 16-9. Mahomes again deep. Thornton. That was on a third and 10. That’s significantly more than that. Down to the run. Next play, Mahomes hands it off to Kareem Hunt. That is good for six more. Chiefs took a 229 lead after a missed point after. Next Giants drive on a fourth and five. Wilson. Wondelle Robinson. Needed five, got 26. Down to the Chiefs 14. Now on fourth and goal from the 10. Wilson looking. Wilson. No, that is not even close. Giants turn it over on downs after being down there in the red zone. 229 is the final. The Chiefs get their first win of the season. All right. So, Uncle Herman is with us and look, they finally get that win. Would you say how impressive was it nonetheless? But let’s talk about that Kansas City defense for a second. From what you saw in this game, what did it tell you? Well, think about the last three games. Really, it’s been the Chiefs defense that are keeping him in games because right now there’s no consistency with their offense. I mean, we we seen throws again tonight of Patrick Mahomes that he gently makes with his eyes closed, but the Chiefs defense is what’s keeping them in the game. Uh, in this game again tonight, they did a nice job of keeping the score down. Hold the Giants to nine points, you should win that football game. They held the, think about this, they held the Giants to nine points and it took almost the fourth quarter before you realize, yeah, the Chiefs will probably win this game, right? When you think about it, they only gave up nine points. And you were wondering if the Chiefs are going to win or not because they can’t score enough points on offense. Not a not a Chiefs offense that we that we’ve seen like this before. And it’s it’s kind of strange when you watch them play, but it’s their defense. They get after you now. So, how are you then translating some of the things that we are seeing on offense? Yes, we’ve got Patrick Mahomes and Mahomes can still do the Mahomesian things, but then you’re seeing sort of the should we call them out outbursts from from Travis Kelce. You’re seeing the the convers conversation between Kelsey and Andy Reid on the sideline. How should we be viewing that? They’re frustrated. They’re competitors. They know they should be playing better than this on offense. Every guy on that offensive unit knows that. And they’re struggling. I mean, think about this. This game got into the fourth quarter. Look at Andy. He’s holling at Kelsey about something. Kelsey’s holling back. But you know what? After the game’s over with, they’ll kiss and make up. They’ll be fine. These are competitors. This is why they win Super Bowls. This is why they’re in the playoffs all year. They uh every year they have a certain standard of how they want to play. And when they’re not doing that, they get frustrated. That’s part of it. You want competitors on your team like that. So, how do you fix the chemistry issues, though? Because it’s not just happening with Kelsey. It’s happening with the other receivers as well. How do you fix this offense that has historically been great? Well, a bunch of young guys and I think Patrick Mahomes is being patient. Um, but Patrick Mahomes, his accuracy at times when guys are open, he misses them. And that’s not like Patrick Mahomes. I I think sometimes he almost tries to make uh, you know, those throws where he’s running right and he wants to throw it back left rather than planting his feet, go back to the mechanics, throw the ball with accuracy, make some plays on offense, and get this thing going. This is a good win for the Chiefs. They needed this win. They’re in a good division all of a sudden. The Chargers are better, right? The Denver Broncos are better. They both have really good defenses. The Raiders will be competitive. So, this is not a a conference anymore. The AFC West said it belongs to the Chiefs. They’ve got some competition now. 1. Andy Reid Needs To Send Kelsey Home… Just Tell Him To His Face, Your Old, Your Not Committed To Us, You Have To Many Distractions Off The Filed, Fix Them And Let Me Know
If You Even Want To Play.?? If Not Don't Come Back, We Will Trade You

  2. We gotta acknowledge that Mahomes is always playing with a highly cripple offense. Out WR1 and WR2, Virtually no Running Back depth, and his o-line is basically subpar. Itโ€™s only so much ANY QB can do in that situation but heโ€™s pushing through better than any other QB in the league would right now.

  3. Reid said before the game Mahomes had a wrist injury on his throwing hand. Could explain some of those way off throws. Hope so, and he gets back to the form that's run to watch instead of frustrating.
