🚨 Nick Bosa ruled out for the season with ACL tear 🚨 ‘Enormous loss’ for the 49ers | NFL Live

Breaking news is how we begin the show though and we go right to Adam Sheper. Adam, what’s the latest from the 49ers? Worst case scenario for Nick Bosa and the 49ers. Laura test today a short time ago showed that Nick Bosa did in fact tear his ACL during the game against Arizona. He hurt the knee, went into the medical tent, and as he walked towards the locker room, you could see him flash thumbs down to somebody in the stands. he knew that there might be a severe injury that he had suffered. Now, after the game, the 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the first test led them to believe that Bose’s ACL was intact, but they knew there was something wrong and they had to have him do additional testing to confirm or figure out exactly what was wrong. That MRI today showed that he had torn his ACL in his knee. Now, he had torn his ACL in the opposite knee a few years ago playing in Metife Stadium. This was a different knee, but it’s the same result. He now will need season ending surgery that will deprive the 49ers of yet another great player. They’ve lost so many great players this year. Brandon Aayuk out till the middle of the year. Brock Pury has missed time. George KD is on injury reserve. But maybe the most devastating loss might be Nick Bosa because he will not be back this season. Adam, you just hate to hear it for the 49ers. Injuries continue to be a part of their story. More from Adam throughout the show as we welcome you in Marcus Spears, Mina Kims, Ryan Clark, Dan Orloski. Swag, I start with you. What do you think about this news about Bosa being out for the year? First of all, it’s unfortunate for Bosa obviously, but you can’t help but think about how much the 49ers have been riddled with injury. And it’s not injuries to like mid-tier impact guys. their guys miss time like the the dudes that make the difference between championship caliber football team and a team that’s just pretty good. So, it’s devastating news, especially for Robert Salah coming over his first year and this defense was playing well. Obviously, Fred Warner is still there, but when you lose a edge rusher, we’re seeing across the league how important these guys are in or towards winning, not just playing well. So, it’s just a super unfortunate situation for the 49ers and Bosa as they try to move forward. I’d say one of the I guess unanticipated bright spots has been the 49ers defense this season with Robert Salah coming back and they’ve got depth there because Mike Williams who’s their first round draft pick Bryce Huff who they acquire from the Eagles good players but they’re not Nick. This is a defense right now that’s giving up like 16 points a game that’s third in the NFL. They’re only giving up about 160 yards passing per game which is top five. So this was a group that was ascending. It’s one of the reasons why the 49ers are 3 and 0 in first place. This is an enormous loss for this football team. Then, you know, we talked earlier about Muel Williams, also Bryce Huff that came over, but they don’t do the things that Nick Bosa can do. The way that he plays the run. I mean, he finished the game against the Seattle Seahawks with getting to Sam Darnold. And that sort of impact players helps this entire defense that is truly having to rebuild from what they used to be. And so, this is a huge loss for a team that starts this season 3 and 0 mean, and actually has a schedule that they can manage to get into the playoffs. Yeah, you really saw the impact. In fact, the second he went off the field, it felt like Kyler Murray had much longer to hold on to the football. I really like what we’ve seen from the two pass rushers you just named. Bryce Huff in particular, you know, he he was not even a starter in Philadelphia, but reunited with Robert Salah, you see, oh, it’s such a better scheme fit for him. The wide nine that they run where he can get after the quarterback. And with Muel Williams, you can line him up inside, outside, he has that versatility, but it all works a lot better with Nick Bosa on the field. And when you take him out of the equation, it just gets a lot easier for opposing offenses to game plan. Yeah. And I think when you look at what he does, sort of the attention that he draws as well allows some of those guys to get some freedom. Bryce Huff with a huge play in the run yesterday in the zone read as well. So Robert Salah is going to have to get a little creative in how he plays that front and way he utilizes some of those pieces as Nick Bosa will be on IR for the rest of the season. Adam, there’s some news out of New York with the Giants quarterback situation. What’s going on there? Laura Brian Dball, the Giants head coach, left open the door today to changing quarterbacks at some point this week. Obviously, all sorts of Giant fans in New York are ready for Jackson Dart, their former first round draft pick in this past draft. They’ve tried to stay patient with Russell Wilson, but today Brian Dable hesitated yet again, leaving open the idea that possibly this week he could be changing quarterbacks. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a lowgrade hamstring injury yesterday. When he came off the field, he threw his helmet in frustration as somebody who has known hamstring injuries before last year. He missed three games. This injury is not expected to be quite as severe as last year’s, but it is likely that Evans is going to miss games, possibly multiple games here. And CD Lamb, the Cowboys wide receiver who went down against the Bears yesterday with a high ankle sprain, is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks. And our Todd Archer is saying that it could be three to four weeks. So you’re looking at a 2 to four week range for CD Lamb. He is not expected to play Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers in Dallas with the Cowboys returning home to host Micah Parsons. But that’s going to be a big loss for a Dallas offense that needs all the points and production it can with the defense in Dallas playing the way it is. Tyrone Tracy suffered a dislocated shoulder last night. He’s going to miss some time now. We’ve seen how long a dislocated shoulder has sidelined Xavier Worthy from the Kansas City Chiefs offense. Now Tyrone Tracy Jr. went down last night with a dislocated shoulder. That led to more playing time for Cam Scataboo. And there would be probably more playing time for Cam Scataboo moving forward from this point on with Tracy having the dislocated shoulder. Naji Harris suffered an Achilles injury yesterday. We’re waiting for full confirmation, official confirmation from Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh that it is officially torn as everybody expects. It looks like it’s going to be a seasonending injury. You could see his leg move there. You see him go down, non-cont, all the ingredients in place. Terrible injury for Naji Harrison. Hopefully he’s back soon. And another terrible injury for the Cardinals running back James Connor who went down against the 49ers at a very awkward position. The crowd in that stadium gasped when they saw the replays that they wouldn’t even show on television. And it turns out that James Connor did suffer a seasonending ankle injury that is going to require surgery. We don’t know whether there’s damage to ligaments in there, whether it’s just a dislocation of his ankle, but whatever it is, I was told it was severe. And so, we certainly wish James Connor the best and hope that he’s back sooner rather than later, but it won’t be this season. Yeah, Adam, James Connor has been through so much. He’s trying to stay on the field. Certainly feel from him. So, that’s the Manning cast tonight. And Mark Andrews arriving for the Ravens, the tight end who Lamar Jackson actually pointed out has had some slower starts in previous seasons. They’re hoping to get him going tonight a little bit more as we get closer to Monday Night Football and the kickup of our game. Let’s bring in Adam Shfter for some injury notes on both sides. Adam, let’s begin with Marcus Davenport. A short time ago, Laura, the Detroit Lions placed Marcus Davenport on injured reserve, which means he’s out for a minimum of four games. He’s been dealing with a chest injury. He’s gone and sought second opinions, and it came back that he’s not going to be able to play anytime soon or at least in the next four weeks. And so, the Detroit Lions now have taken the step to put him on IR. He will miss tonight’s game nonetheless. Also, the Baltimore Ravens are dealing with a injury to one of their defensive tackles, Justin Matabke. He’s had a neck injury that prevented him from practicing. He’ll be out tonight. There’s been some speculation and question about whether or not they’d put Matab on injury reserve. The move has not yet come, but we’ll see if it does, but Matabi will not be playing tonight for the Baltimore Ravens. And the same will be true for a trio of Baltimore Ravens who already have been ruled out for tonight’s game as well. Kyle Vanoi has a hamstring injury. Isaiah likely still waiting to make his season debut due to a foot injury he suffered earlier this summer. And Patrick the fullback has a calf injury. All three of those Ravens will join Justin Matabiki on the sidelines tonight along with you Laura while you did the Lions. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

Adam Schefter, Dan Orlovsky, Marcus “Swagu” Spears, Ryan Clark and Mina Kimes join Laura Rutledge to react to Nick Bosa being ruled out for the season after tearing his ACL against the Cardinals. Schefter also reports on other injury updates around the league.

  1. All yall saying that the window is closed… you forget we will have our offense from 2023 back expect better with pearsall and our defense is getting better everyweek. KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY See yall on the playoffs 🫡

  2. Brandon Aiyuk, Brock Purdy, CMC, Kittle and now Bosa? Is it just bad luck? Play calling? Or the training staff? Either way, this is perfect timing for Purdy. He can come in and lose, then finish the season 5-12 and everyone would make every excuse they can for him.

  3. The 49ers should be used to it by now, they’ve been playing without Nick Bosa since he signed the big contract. 😂
It shouldn’t be too hard to find someone to replace his 10 sacks/ season.

  4. Everybody saying their conditioning staff is bad is going for low hanging fruit. They are rumored to practice more intense than most other teams and that's coming from former players in interviews

  5. SF cycles through trainers every year. Same results. Common denominator? The HC.

Something about his program and the prep leading up to games is off. EVERY year you’re a league leader in injuries? EVERY one?

  6. It's true everyone a always injured in the ninners im devastated I can't believe this loss it's ah huge loss we need to pick up ahn elite pass rusher before the trade deadline asap 😢

  7. As a 49ers fan here, but we absolutely need a newer staff changings coming to take over due to injuries because it always have to be us every year of grotesque injuries year to year to year in matters what. RIDICULOUS AS F4CK!!.😡🤬 Who ever is in charge to know the fact that every other staff should demand to be fired as this is starting to get out of hand whatsoever. Hoping for Nick Bosa of his speedy recovery, and never deserves to go down as he was not been dominant against the rush for Robert Saleh’s brightening defense that he turned it around. This is starting to really crawl our skins of what is Red and Gold’s organization is doing of no leadership role and taking full responsibility. WE FAITHFUL ARE TIRED OF THIS BULLSH1T ALREADY!.🤬🤬🤬🤦🏻😫
