10 Days until Lakers’ first preseason game. Which Lakers newcomer are you most excited to see play?

  1. Ayton. The other three are nice and I definitely want to see Smart/LaRavia grow into their roles and Thiero to get some minutes but Ayton could prove to be transformative for us. The game changes when you have a good center, particularly when your offense is being run through Luka.

  2. Excited to see LaRavia because at their worst Ayton is a huge upgrade and Smart too while LaRavia is a young player that we don’t really know, but that has good potential.

I don’t pay attention to second round picks until they show they are NBA prospects.

  3. Theiro because there hasn’t been a single video clip of this man playing basketball since his last college game.

  4. Excited to watch all of them tbh

Like others have mentioned, Ayton and Smart are obvious projected upgrades, so my eyes are more on LaRavia and Thiero.

That said, I will refrain from giving them too much judgement for now. Will wait until All-Stars to start glazing or yapping at them sincerely

  5. Is Thiero available to play in the pre-season games?

I’m most curious to see how Smart fits in, though I guess I’m more excited about LaRavia’s long term prospects.

  6. Ayton- can’t wait for us to get a 20/10 man in center . And who can defend as well but can he stay healthy ?

  7. Interested in seeing the young guys. I have seen plenty of games with Ayton and Smart playing and know what they can bring to the team. I have not seen Thiero or LaRavia, interesting to see if these two could be ‘wild cards’ going forward. Go Lakers.

  8. I’m just fucking excited to see Lakers Basketball again. It has been too long.

    To answer your question:
I’m not considering LeBron, Luka, AR or Rui.

Ayton – we didn’t have a Center now we have a top 15 center with a massive chip on his shoulder
LaRavia – he needs to fill DFS’s role who was a key player
Smart – finally a perimeter defender who is not a heavy liability on O
Vando – I’m a believer baby. He had a healthy offseason and I hope so much that he can be rotation player comes playoffs time
Then Theiro – he is a rook and I want to see good things but don’t expect too much

  9. If we get close to the best versions of Ayton and Smart, we are top tier title contenders. If we get lazy POR Ayton, and 30 games out of Smart, we are going to be fighting for the 5-8 seed.

Thiero and LaRavia hitting would be nice, but Smart and Ayton really determine our ceiling this year.

  10. Since Lakers were awful on center Ayton is the one who can elevate them most. Clearly they were also inadequate on defense so Smart can also help a lot. But I also want to see Laravia who could have the biggest ceiling of those three. I know nothing about Thiero so I don’t know what to expect.

  11. Ayton because for a couple seasons now we’ve been lacking that true Center and forcing AD to play when he was a true PF

  12. Smart. Last year the whole team let Luka get hacked and manhandled. We need a salty enforcer. Smart is going to be the closest thing we have to that kind of player. We really need one and I want to see how he helps team chemistry.

  13. All really. Probably Smart if I had to pick one just because he’s an emotional sort and was the heart for the Celtics. Now he’s with the good guys and I’d like to see how he wins us over

  14. Ayton + Luka/Bron connections will be real exciting to watch out for imo.

How Jake fits in will be my 2nd.

  15. This one is not even a question to me. The trajectory of our season pretty much hinges on how Ayton fits in to the Lakers structure and whether he has taken steps to become more of a force on the court (which he certainly has the talent to do.) Ayton is at the biggest fork on his career, and I am incredibly curious as to which road he takes.
