Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns LIVE | September 23, 2025 | NBA PRESEASON | NBA 2K26
you want taking the shot with the game on the line right now? Well, certainly the tried andrue like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. You can’t go wrong there. Or a multi-time MVP and Nola Joic. They’ve got Nick Richards. Grayson Allen is out there with Green. Then it’s Royce O’Neal and it’s done in a small forward. That’s who’s out there for Phoenix. I’ll tell you what, they’ve rebounded the ball tremendously well. Now Butler pass to Jackson Davis and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. Tim, it was pretty unique to hear the Warriors vets say they don’t want a team to mortgage the future trying to chase one more ring. Really shows you the selflessness of this group. Here you’ve got Steph Curry, a top 10 player in league history who maybe would want one because there’s no time like the present. Thinking more like a GM than he is a star player. Smart keep that covered stopped. The first free throw is good and changes for the Suns legs in the front office. Coaching, you name it. Yeah, Brian, you had the feeling changes were coming for this roster as well. arguably the most disappointing team last season. A hard reset may have been needed. That one misses, so he goes one for two. And Grant Stephen Curry said his goal was to play meaningful basketball games. With the arrival of Jimmy Butler, that proved to be the case. Yeah, the Warriors have been looking to get Steph some help. The fit with Jimmy was questioned, but it’s worked out better than most people expected. And while we have a moment, let’s see some of the contenders for this year’s three-point contest. some of the players who have a shot to make the final cut. Hey, not a bad list of shooters at all. And really, with how many threes we see in NBA games these days, some of these games that become three-point contests. You take a look at Curry. He occupies the top spot in voting, will very likely see him in the three-point shooting competition. And he might already be the favorite. When he gets in a groove, he’s automatic. And this year’s contest is really shaping up to be one to remember. Plenty of dead eyee shooters on that list so far and lots of guys have a three-point shot now. But this list is really the cream of the crop when it comes to putting up long range bombs. A nice shot by Richards. That’s very smart use of the screen and it sets up a very close look. [Applause] Final quarter of play about a minute and a half off the clock. over healed for three and it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Going into halftime, he had two threes in his pocket but hasn’t added to that total since. A nice shot by Richard. They just look so overwhelmed inside. You know, that’s why they continue to get attacked. And it’s Butler with the ball for the Golden State Warriors pass heel. Outside Kaminga done with a steal. [Music] And here is Green and founded back in 2020, the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition. Still pushing for voting rights and eliminating bias in the justice system. A lot yet to be done, Greg. Yes, indeed. BA and give them a follow. I mean, it’s so much important work and it takes all of us to really create the change we all hope to see. Right side, Butler. Shot clock at five. [Applause] Rebounded by Dunn. Well, the defense was solid right there, but that’s just a missed opportunity at the rim. Green. The pass to Dunn. Some nice ball movement by Phoenix. Phoenix needs to get off a shot here. No good on the triple. The Warriors lead by 18. Outside heel. I got the help outside. Outside. Butler. Pass to Kaminga. Throws it up high. Stolen by Allen. Outside Green. Richards. The pass to Allen. Now here’s Green. Back to Richards. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Jackson Davis has got six rebounds in the game. Knocks it loose. Green against heel. Green with the ball. Here’s Dunn. And the Suns miss again. The Warriors have gone 0 for three in this fourth. Not good. Back to Heel. Pass to Butler. [Applause] Outside Craig. Six to shoot. Here’s He off the mark and the drought continues. Suns trail by 18. Done. The pass to O’Neal. Basket’s good. This run has been fueled by their Matador defense. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. He’s looking to make some very important adjustments here. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Phoenix making some changes. is Igodaro comes in for O’Neal and it’s Devin Booker in for Allen. Green’s checked in for the Warriors. Stephen Curry comes in for Craig. The Warriors lead by 16. Outside Butler Green a screen. No good. Unable to win this run. The Suns have got four of eight shots to drop here in this final quarter. Booker the pass to Richards. Hit his foot. Kickball. It’s being called a kick ball. O’Neal. He’s checked in for Gdaro. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. Pajimky comes in for healed. [Applause] Golden State on D. They’ve given up just eight points in the fourth. Shot clock at six. Here’s Booker. What balance from Booker and just fearless Devin Booker not afraid to go right at the defense. [Applause] The Warriors lead by 14 outside. Curry. Green. A screen. Launches it. Curry. No good. I’m surprised he missed that one. He is a dangerous guy to leave open. Done. The pass to Richards. Count that one. He’s scoring at a nice clip. He’s six of nine tonight. Just so successful getting the ball inside and finding those great looks. Here’s Curry outside. Moody outside Butler to end the drought. And the Warriors miss again. Well, he’s not having as much success shooting the ball early as he wanted, but so far it’s not hurting their team performance. Pass to Booker. Screen by O’Neal. Booker with it now. Guarded by Butler. Left side O’Neal. And the Warriors pushing it up now. And here they go. Outside for Butler. The three. And that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Green’s got assist number eight here already in the game. All right. Well, a look at how the hustle game has been going for the Warriors. Well, their D has been a major story tonight. I mean, those steals and putting pressure on the ball, clogging the passing lanes. Impressive. And I’d say offensive rebounding has also been a big factor as well. And not just getting the boards, but more importantly, converting those into second chance points. on the wing. Curry. Booker defending. Curry passes to Green from outside. Off the mark. And they’re winning this game despite his difficulties at the offensive end. That’s the way. Pajimsky with it. Green picks him up inside. Green gets up and powers it down. I love the show of force by Green putting the defense on notice with the jam. And so it’s Booker with it. He brings it up for the Suns. Pass to Green. Some nice ball movement by Phoenix. Booker. Good. Booker’s got 15 points here in the second half. That’s 10 straight points they’ve given up in the painted area, huh? The Warriors lead by 13 now. Here’s Curry. [Applause] Five to shoot. Curry creates inside. Now, his efficiency throughout this game has really been something and his team has been able to succeed in large part because of it. Here’s Phoenix. They’re on a 16-7 run. Green. The pass to Richards. It’s stolen by Curry. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. 13 ft out and Booker pulls it down. Booker’s got four rebounds in the game. Done. The pass to Green. And here’s Butler. Now Green. [Applause] Now here’s Dun. Moody defends. That’s in. They’re having a good half offensively shooting over 50% from the field now trying to close the gap. The biggest lead of the game was 24 points outside Moody. Now Green outside Butler clock at six. He shoots. Oh, he missed the jumper. The defense really didn’t do enough to alter that shot. It’s simply a miss. Curry against Booker from about 16. Yes, locked in on the J. And Booker finds his groove on offense. He is a pure scorer and it’s going to be a long night for the defense. Now Butler. He launches. Oh, it doesn’t go. Suns trail by 11. Booker with it. Now guarded by Moody. Up top. Booker. Spins. Oh, it misses. Well, coaches really appreciate when guys defend with that kind of effort. Just a fantastic job protecting the rim. Curry against Green for three. Oh, no good. And the Suns with possession. They’re on a 20 to7 run. Booker goes in. Oh, it doesn’t go. I think a bucket here, Grant, would end this game. Absolutely. That would put a bow on this one and the clock will wind down on this one. Just a solid effort and a good win for the Warriors. They never gave up when they were down earlier. Forced their way back into this game. And look at them now. And this one was all about desire, the perseverance of never doubting your teammates or the game plan. I mean, I love what they did here tonight. And this is a nice victory for them. It’s win number 14 of the year. And with the win, the season series is tied one to one. You have to love how competitive these games have been with two more left to play. We’ve come to expect big time games from him. Just another day at the office for Stephen Curry. Yeah. And watching that last game, you could see the comfort zone he got into. Just filling it up from all of the spots he loves. And so it’s Golden State winning this one. Exceptional effort on the road. They were ready and they were focused. Focused indeed. I mean, it takes a strong mental approach to block out the distractions. These guys stepped up 100%. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. Draymond, you were stacking the assist. How much do you take it on yourself to be a playmaker for this team? Uh, I play with a lot of great players. I just try to find them in the spots that they like the ball. Uh, you know, guys really shooting the ball well. You know, I’ve been a playmaker on this team for some years now. That’s my job. So, try to get them the ball in spots on the floor that they like. You always bring it on both ends. Thanks, Draymond. Ally, thank you as always. And that’s going to do it tonight, folks, for our broadcast with Tim Leggler, Ally Leforce, and Grant Hill. This is Brian Anderson. As always, we appreciate you tuning in tonight. See you next time.
