MASSIVE Jays Move Incoming… Report Reveals HUGE Updates | Toronto Blue Jays News
A huge Toronto Blue Jays move is imminent. And following what has been a crazy season thus far, but also a crazy past couple weeks as it pertains to injuries and rehabs for a few players, a huge report has dropped revealing that a move is incoming for the Toronto Blue Jays that changes the outlook of not only the rest of the year, but into the playoffs as well as the Jays are about to enter tonight with the biggest regular season series in over a decade. We’re going to break down exactly what this update is as well as discuss some other intriguing updates and some comments from the players. Folks, buckle up. This will be a crazy video. And tonight is the beginning of a crazy series and what has been a crazy year. But before we get into it, what’s also crazy is that 70% of you who are watching right now aren’t subscribed. So, if you’re a part of that percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, this is the place to be for Daily Jay’s content. You guys have been absolutely fantastic. You’ve been a beast of the support. So, make sure to continue with that support. Folks, a lot to go over today and we’re going to be diving into a big question mark the Jays have heading into literally the series tonight. Now, of course, this video is going to be uploaded early today, which means this the move that we’re all anticipating here according to a couple different reports. It’s going to happen, at least we presume, as soon as a few hours from now. So, if it does happen, let me know down below in the comment section. Of course, I’ll have a video out the moment any move happens across the MLB, at least with the Jays. But, let’s start with this. A brand new article has dropped from that we was shy of beating Benson Smith and it says the Toronto Blue Jays rehabbing slugger Anthony Santandere wrapped up the AAA season in Buffalo with a quiet day at on Sunday. The switch hitter hit second and he had a pretty rough day but he went total seven for 32 with two doubles and two homers in Toronto. Of course we know he’s made the major offseason acquisition hasn’t done well blah blah blah. Go to the third paragraph. Let’s get to the important stuff here. We all know he’s been horrible. I don’t need to uh to continue to milk that. Buffalo has now wrapped up its regular season schedule like I alluded to in yesterday’s video and Santandere could potentially join the team in Toronto as they begin a threegame set and rumblings are that he will be joining the Toronto Blue Jays as they begin a three-game set against the Red Sox because at this point the Bison’s have no um you know they have no more games. So you’re either going to be playing tonight and figuring things out or not necessarily playing tonight but getting called to the team or you’re just going to be done for the year. And folks, this is where things get interesting because not only is a move, we assume imminent according to everyone. I mean, reporters have been saying, you could see it there. They say potentially, but most likely happening. A couple questions to dive into and we’ll dive into, you know, what salt can bring, of course, things like that. But I want to ask you guys, who would you send down at this point cuz someone has to be sent down and a recent article was dropped by Mike Wilner of all people and saying that should the Jays activate Santere, the likeliest players to replace are Tai France or Joey Lerido. Lopeid has options which is why he was sent back to the minors uh in mid August of George Springer and of course Tai France I mean they’re probably going to keep Tai France. So folks I’m gonna ask you guys this and ahead of what’s going to be again a crazy crazy series tonight. A would you activate Anthony Santandere? For me it’s an easy yes. Absolutely. Their offense has been abysmal as of late and there’s been too many stretches of games where and listen Santandere he might not get base hits but you have a you know four times a game where where you have a good chance with Santander to hit a home run like 25% chance in my mind whatever the actual number is to hit a home run. It’s obviously not 25%. But you have a good chance to right as opposed to some other players who don’t really have that power threat and it changes the way other teams pitch around and you know manage their bullpen with and you know protecting the guys ahead and below them. So, I would take Santire in a heartbeat and I would option Joey Lero. It’s as simple as that. And I think that’s what the Toronto Blue Jays are actually preparing to do. We’ve seen Lfidto start less and less. He’s gone three for 14 his most recent stretch, although a couple of those were pretty big hits, including a solo shot a few days ago. At the end of the day, like this is a huge move that we need to see. Now, will Santandere be able to come out and actually make a huge impact, especially into the postseason? Maybe, maybe not. like we don’t know the answer to that question, but you have to give him a chance. And that’s the reason he played all these games in Buffalo. They would not have played him if they didn’t think that they had an opportunity to a bring him up to the big league club, but b these regular season games mean a lot. Like tonight’s the beginning of the biggest regular season series in ages. You have to win these games. And that’s something that’s not really talked about as much here. Like the advantage between the AL East and winning that versus winning, you know, a wild card spot, which they’ve already done, is massive. It is gamechanging and you have to win that. It starts with Anthony Santandere. And it seems that a move is coming for him, which is obviously absolutely fantastic there. And again, he’s had a horrible season thus far. 577 OPS. He’s played 50 games. It feels like forever ago when he last, you know, buckled up and had a uh, you know, a good game for the Jays. He did hit some clutch home runs at times. He’s done some things at times that were encouraging, but as of right now, he has struggled and at the big league level, this is his chance to come back and prove that, hey, I’m still that 44 home run guy. And if this team can get Bobette and Santander back, you do that in a heartbeat. But of course, you do have to pick as well your playoff roster, which we’ll dive into in a minute here. But there was also an interesting kind of uh I guess point made up here and within this article from Mike Wner, and I’m not the biggest Mike Wner fan, but he made some interesting points in this one. So, I’m going to go ahead and talk about it. So, Eric Lowour versus Brennan Little. With Brennan Little having pitched the fifth inning Sunday, of course, the Jays went to Eric Lowour, who looked really good. You can see there the last sentence, Lowour might wind up being the go-to lefty while the games get bigger and bigger. Another question for you all. Out of these lefties that you have right now, Fly, Mason, um, Mason, Mason Flerty, Mason Flerty, Brendan Little, and of course, uh, Eric Lauer. Who would you pick between those three? probably, you know, between Little and Lowour to be the first lefty out of the bullpen because some people are saying, “Okay, this is simple. It’s Brandon Little. He’s been your guy all year. That’s you’re going to go to.” He has struggled over the past while he had a little bit of a bounce back and then had to kind of sold almost the last game. Four hits in one and a third inning. Got bailed out a little bit with a double play, but also got screwed a little bit. Uh I mean, everybody got screwed a little bit by the uh you know, the vibe following the Daltton Baro missed call on the catch. I don’t think the Jays would shy away from Brennan Little in a playoff game right now. Like I think that’s their guy and that’s what they’re going to do. But it is a serious question between Little and Lowour and something that I think they need to use Lowour more. He looked really good in his brief appearance there the other day and it’s something to keep an eye out on as you start to look at who will make the cut for the Toronto Blue Jays postseason roster. And we’ll of course have videos covering that. But you can see this here from Ben Nicholson Smith. As much as we would like certainly from the outside, they’re going to play these things out until the very last minute. So, we probably won’t know what they will do regarding their postseason roster until they a figure out whether they clinch the division or clinch, you know, just, you know, coast into the wild card spot and b how these guys perform down the stretch. Like if Santandere comes out and starts playing today, let’s say for example, and slashes 110 with no home runs and one single in 25 at bats or something like ridiculous like that or 20 at bats, even one hit in 10 at bats. Um, you know, they’re going to give him enough runway where he’s not going to go one for five and you cut him. there’s a good chance where he doesn’t make the playoff roster. Like that’s not out of the realm of possibility. If he looks absolutely abysmal, they’re not going to put him on the playoff roster because they have other guys. Few guys you can pencil in like even Miles Straw I think you can pencil into a playoff spot. But it’s going to be a very difficult decision to make here even surrounding you know Santandere and there are big moves beyond Santandere choosing to hey who do you use out of the bullpen? Who’s going to be the playoff roster? All of these are massive moves that for the first time in a very long time matter in the regular season. And of course, we’ve seen regular seasons matter in the past, but not like this since 2015 when they won the division because I mean, you think back to 2023. I mean, horrible offensive year. Defense pitching first horrible. They coast into the wild card spot. Same in 2022. 2021, you miss it by game. 2020, you of course make the wild card, but it was a Mickey Mouse year with co. So, it’s going to be interesting. Folks, let us know down below. Let me know rather down below. I’m the only one. What your thoughts are on this. And um you know as we look ahead to the Red Sox versus Raid series, you have to take care of business. You’ve done well against the Red Sox all year. You’ve done well at home all year. 1525 I believe it is or 51 to 25. Finish the job. And like George Springer said, everyone’s playing for the name in the front and not the name in the back. This is the time to prove that. Thank you guys for watching. See you in the video later.

Loperfido is the most likely to be sent down.
Let's see. Santander has been off 4 months with an injury. Before his IL time he was batting under 200. The Jays are in a sprint to win the AL East. Santander is known in the league for slow starts. There are only 6 games left in the season. It makes absolutely no sense to me to bring him back. But most importantly, the Jays when they are at their best, are a contact team with all 9 players contributing. Santander represents a completely different philosophy about baseball (more like the Yankees). He just doesn't fit into the current configuration of the team.
I think it's gonna be joey loperfido And yes Bring back anthony santander
Little has to go!
Santander was a bust in the clutch with the Orioles.
It's been confirmed Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto are on planes headed for Toronto. Insider reports reveal Rob Manfred made a trade deadline exception for these moves to go down. The return packages include Anthony Santander, Jeff Hoffman, and Max Scherzer.
I like your content but I slow the playback speed down to 75%. Keep up the good work and please don't consider this an insult – and you seem like you'd be ok with honest feedback.
the scouts have figured out Little's stuff, I don't think he can be counted on in high leverage
I would hate to see Loperfido go but if it happens I would suggest that Santander be the dh on the bottom of the lineup. Should Clement or Gimenez get on you have that home run threat. Pitcher’s will also avoid intentionally walking him because Springer is the next batter. Just my opinion.
You have to give him a chance.. If Tony plays like he can then that is a legit home run threat.. If Bo can come back to then hopefully everything jells.
The team started to win when Santander went to IL, expecting to be a hot offence jyst because a low average player was added?
Send him to Florida. He strikes out alot his defense is OK. Pinch hitter is gd 4 bench.
Dominguez should be our closer, he’s been lights out
If the Bisons Season is over where are they going to whichever player it is ? as always Go Jays Go from Timmins 🙂😎☕⚾🎙️🍁🇨🇦
I don't see the point of bringing in an inning ender/rally killer for the off chance he hits one or two home runs. To say nothing of his mediocre defense. And he's a slow starter. Playoffs will be over by the time he finds his stroke.
This really isn’t the time to be experimenting. Santander is terrible. He can’t hit. He is prone to injury. He has contributed absolutely nothing to this team. Loperfido actually has. I don’t understand wanting Santander back right now. It makes no sense. Maybe someone else who understands baseball should be running this channel.
I would send down France. He is a rally killer and Loperfido is a better hitter. It is proven.
Imagine DFA'ing Ty France? hahahaha – lets break it down:
Jays traded away Steve Pierce who was having his best season to the Red Sox a few years back (follow me here) at trade deadline and got Espinal Santiago who was a 29th/25th prospect in the Sox org (I believe), he was not top 20, Pierce went on to to be an MVP that play-offs and vital piece to the Red Sox WS win and not DFA'd before the play-offs started.
FF to this off-season, Shatkins traded Horowitz leaving a huge hole at back up 1st base, giving up power on a poor power team for defense at 2nd (even though Ernie and Davis who play 2nd very well and much more offense) were on the team.
FF to this trade deadline – Shatkins trades (either a top 10 pick or Roden who was MLB top 100 prospects just as early as April) for Ty France. Shatkins claims he identified a hole at back up first (the same hole he created just weeks before) and that he also needed a right handed bat (with Davis and Straw on the bench) – Shatkins didn't get a (Pierce) to which he sold for pennies but got a (France) as a knee-jerk move , and is nowhere near as good as what Pierce was playing that year for thousands of dollars. Now France who should have been had for a 25th or worth prospect (at least) is talk of DFA'ing, and all you monkey's are OK with this stupidity! This failure to negotiate to Shatkins/Blue Jays advantage is why we have a soft unprepared minor league system! If DFA'd, Jays would have paid 2 top ten prospects for Varland. Holly f@ckk that is dumb to me! hahahahaha – other teams are mocking us Canadians as "dumb" because YOU all defend Shatkins and his "lightning in a bottle" year thanks to Davey-boy and his team.
Mike Wilner has been bang on with his reporting of the blue jays longer than you've been alive
Little is CHEEKS
everyone always talking about him talking too fast, but i actually increase the playback speed to x1.5 lol
About Scherzer:
He should start game 1. I know you monkey Tik Tok clip watchers disagree – I heard Keegan on Hockeydrive yesterday as he spreaded is genius managerial expertise in the "what have you done for me lately" philosophy in all full anxiety-filled-uncertainty personality. The ability to NOT be able to trust more than the previous second that just happened, is monkey minded.
Moving on – yes Max had a bad game, he is 41 but doesn't need to be to have those types of games. And I don't care if Max had 4 games like that, because in his ENTIRE career is how I evaluate. No, he aint what he used to be, and yes, he always has been touched for the long ball – and here in Toronto its nervousness 24/7, always want "NEXT!", and if a player does two "bad things" in-a-row, they want "new" immediately, there is no room for error or the anxiety hits the roof – because most don't know the game.
Baseball is up and down, in and out, back and forth and extremely hard to predict (that's why many don't gamble on the game like they do NFL or NBA), I've said before baseball is a finicky b!tch!
What I do know of Max – is that he can trip, stumble and fall flat on his face, maybe even break his nose BUT when it's "go time" (not 4 games up with a dozen games to go), when it's do or die, Max is a cowboy, and can still "pitch"! I want him beside at the brawl, he knows when to "when". Not many are built like him, not many have his type of career and what I've seen this season is not numbers, not what he did "wrong" because my expectations were a ridiculous 2.50 ERA and double digit wins for me to understand what is effective for winning – but that if I need Max for one last go at it – he can still rumble. Max grabs ya that first win, and the team could be 3-0 just like that with Gauz and Beebs dancin' next. Max is number 1 material in a play-off series, always has been, still is (the mind hasn't gone, and he can "pitch" better than most in a play-off series in the MLB today) that's why he starts first game.
Loperfido will go down
I'd be excited for Santander returning if he wasn't worse than Gimenez.
I think the boys that got them here should be the boys that play.
Love your show but too much hyperbole. Not every video you do can be the “craziest”
Santanders struggles at the beginning of the season are well documented. It would be unrealistic to expect a "switch-on" performance after some months away so I believe that the Jays would be better served by omitting him from the remaining regular season games.
Tough decisions for Schneider but yes Loperfido because he has options is the right move. We really hope Santander comes back "raking" ! I also think Dominguez should begiven a cha ce at closing, I have faith in Hoffman , his vel is down because he is tired and at this time of year that fatal.
i will be in the minority here but i would keep Joey and not Ty France.
Either France – automatic ground ball out or Lukes- automatic pop up to left.
Santander shouldn’t be on the roster. He hasn’t played since May
Ben Nicholson-Smith
PER @bnicholsonsmith 1h
Anthony Santander not in Jays’ lineup or on their bench for tonight’s game.
I think trying him out as a pinch-hitter to throw off some relievers wouldn’t hurt, especially since he can switch. If that goes well enough you can try him out in LF or DH him with George in LF. Gives the pitchers something to think about and you don’t sacrifice much.
It's official! This past weekend, the Toronto Blue Jays are now in the post-season…….and Anthony Santander will be returning at a good time.
