Ducks fans exist! We’ve met some! 😅 #SDP #ducks #nhl #hockey

Ducks fans, I could see them online being upset about beaking. Hey, about Pat Verbeique being a pain in the ass. Who’s going to be upset? Uh, Ducks fans. Oh, no. The captain of the Ducks told me there are none. So, he’s one of many players who are like, “Yeah, no. I didn’t want to sign somewhere where there’s like pressure and interest. So, I’m just going to go where they don’t [ __ ] care.” But they do care. They do care very much. No, no, no. Those aren’t my words. The captain of the Ducks says there are no Ducks fans. I’m what? Just like there’s no Golden Knights fans and there’s no Panthers fans, which is a weird thing to say. Yes, it is. And I just want to be clear, we don’t believe that. For context here, I pull up this article. Get to Gudas’s quotes, though. A market like Anaheim where there’s much less pressure was a better fit. That is his I wanted to go somewhere where I can make millions of dollars for a fan base that doesn’t give a [ __ ] One of the toughest guys in the NHL is baby [ __ ] Why are you so worked up about this? Because I hate when NHL players try to have their cake and eat it, too. It’s a [ __ ] business. The money doesn’t come out of thin air.

  1. Personally I never got this argument from y’all. I think hes referring to media pressure and not fan pressure. Not everyone can play in those high pressure environments across all sports

  2. Steve, you’re mis-paraphrasing and getting way overworked about you putting your own words in and claiming they are from Gudas. He didn’t say anything like you’re claiming, obviously as Jesse pointed out. If you’re gonna complain about what the guy said at least get what he said correct.

As a Leafs fan you ought to get it, but you don’t seem to. I know your blood pressure is always on high, but still.

Ducks’ fans are Ducks’ fans no matter what. They show up and enjoy the game. The fanbase aren’t only fair-weather fans; it’s about hockey and being the Ducks. The main pressure is that they need to ditch the ruddy orange and black duck foot and go with the original colors and logo, or at least the 30th anniversary ones. And also there isn’t the same media “pressure” as there are on other teams. Nor the pressure to beat the crap out of other players instead of playing actual hockey… like he encountered on previous teams. Gudas has been a different kind of player, a good one, and a good leader, on the Ducks.
