The lost boys. Of course, this episode brought to you by our friends over at Bet365. Download the Bet365 app today and use the code ph next 365 and you deposit $10. Check it out. Right now, I believe I’m up as far as delivering the bets this week. Johnny, you did it pretty well last week. I did. Yeah, just don’t use your bonus bets on any of the overs with regard to the Cardinals pass catchers, but again, they’re free. Do what you want with them. Yeah, I am doing well. I uh I’ve hit What did I What did I pick last week? Oh, I picked the Denver Broncos. So, that that was unfortunate. Chargers ended up winning. Um big time losers here. We had a loser Monday yesterday. We’re back and uh we got to get our bearings about us because the Arizona Cardinals kickoff Thursday Night Football, their first prime time game of this year, very appropo against the top rated defense in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks. And um it’s funny, you know, I remember we do hundreds of shows a year, majority of the summer, we talked about every facet of this team, but the common denominator that we talked about endlessly was, hey, if the passing game and the connection between Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. isn’t there, it’s going to be very difficult for this team to succeed in 2025. Like you could lose a pass rusher, you can lose some corners, right? You can have, you know, your first round pick start on pup and and those are all manageable circumstances. In fact, the Cardinals have managed those, right? Yet the the situation with Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr., And really this entire passing game has is it’s on the cusp of potentially derailing this season because again you start 2 and 0 but the optics were not good. Embarrassing performance by the offense in Santa Clara. We begin this week yesterday with Jonathan Ganon defending Drew Petting which is you know I love he’s sticking up for his coach but it’s pissed off the fan base right and now you’re a loss on Thursday from starting in an 02 hole in the NFC West. I mean, it’s just it’s turned into a very tumultuous time for this team, and I’m sure they didn’t see this coming earlier. No, I I don’t I don’t think so. Especially when you’re an organization that chose to lean into chemistry, continuity on the offensive side of the football and just ran it back as far as that group from play calling standpoint to the playmaking standpoint. And then here you are with a chance that things as we said on Sunday night post Niners loss could snowball very quickly because you were playing within the next four days and you’re going up against a team that after week one has really found itself like the Seattle Seahawks are are one of the teams that are trending in the right direction. They did exactly what you should do against an underman Saints team. a Saints team that is 0 and3 that’s going to be at top the draft by the end of the season and at the end of April next next year they they stomped them. That game was a laugher going into the locker room at halftime. They’re a team that does it in all three phases backto-back weeks. They’ve got return touchdowns. You’ve got Sam Darnold after a really below average debut for the Seahawks that’s put together some nice uh back-toback performances and then this defense has been able to parlay last year’s end into a hot start this season and it’s just you got a very for real team coming into town. It’s like and you’ve got to make these changes on the fly. It’s uh it’s really going to be fascinating to see like how they can regroup. What’s your resiliency level from your quarterback to your offense to your coaching staff to your defense playing a lot of big-time snaps down there in Santa Clara? Yeah, you talk about resiliency. I I think that’s the key word here. Like when are when have we seen Jonathan Ganon’s teams be resilient? I I look back to the Philadelphia win, albeit in a lost season two years ago. I think probably the Charger game on Monday Night Football last year. They had lost a couple in a row and that game allowed them to kind of reset. But again, that that game specifically, by the way, that was the last time they beat a team with a winning record. Midocctober last year. They’re two and nine in their last 11. It’s the stat I’m going to continue to go back to because Jonathan Ganon himself said, “We’re a good football team, but you got to beat good football teams. You got to be able to put yourself in a position where, yeah, you got a you got a two in one Seattle team that we think is talented. They’re not world beaters. Can you take care of business against them in your home environment? Can you not be embarrassed by their by their defense with your offense that’s fledgling right now? Like that’s going to dictate the season because yeah, they’re they’re going to be games where the Cardinals are favored and they’re going to take care of business. I think they’re going to win against Tennessee late in the year against Cincinnati, right? They’re going to have cupcakes. Everybody does on their schedule. But year three is not meant for that. Year three is about, hey, you you think back to Bruce Aren’s year three in 2015. big-time wins on prime time over the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, over the Vikings on Monday Night Football. They just started stacking meaningful victories. They beat the Pack, they beat the holy hell out of the Packers a Sunday afternoon late in the year with Joe Buck and Troy Aman calling the game and you could see that team. It was the crescendo of what they had been building. And then frankly, Cliff Kingsbury early on in his third season 2021 did the same thing, right? Had a bunch of in meaningful wins. I think they beat the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Is a bunch of impactful year three meaningful dubs. I I don’t want to have this feeling in year three of a rebuild where you’re like holding on for dear life. Like be the aggressor. And unfortunately for them, like Seattle is feeling themselves. They’re a very comp conf competent franchise, more than that, and they’re a confident franchise. And right now, it feels like the Cardinals, I mean, like this is not a get-right game for the offense. This is a game where the defense is going to have to step up and continue to make plays. Yeah, we talk about uh resilient performances. Just looking back at last year, I mean, week two after a tough loss to Buffalo, you come in and you just smack the division rival Rams 41-10 and then coming off the brutal Washington performance where you’re really kind of like left picking up the pieces and you’re like, “What the hell was that?” Right? And then you go to Santa Clara and and you sneak one up. You steal one from the 49ers. So, uh, you you got to have one of those. You you absolutely have to have one of those when they lost big on the road to Green Bay. Like you said, they bounced back on, uh, you know, an app game, an app prime time game, right, that they got the ESPN. Yeah. And they were able to get that dub against Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh, who appeared to be upstart at that point under new leadership. So, you got to be able to turn the clock back. You got to be able to you understand the stoicism. you understand uh digging in on your process and and being level-headed after a win, levelheaded after a loss. The Arizona Cardinals have to come out and they have to find a way to to slow down a team that’s been playing very good football in back-to-back weeks and and really showed something at the end of last year. So, just like you had your concerns and that created that skepticism that the Cardinals could get on track offensively because of how things ended and how things have begun, like the opposite could be said of of how the Seahawks are going right now. So, you know, you’re going to hear from Kyler Murray, you’re going to hear from Michael Wilson, you’re going to hear from some key members of this organization as far as what’s being done and how they see it. Does it match with what the fan base and what this show is telling you? So, I I can’t wait for you guys to see that. that’s coming up here in the show shortly. Yeah, I I think I think it’s worth having a conversation because the the last 48 hours with this team, I mean, like I I don’t know if you and I would have signed up for two in one, but like had they started the year two and one and you know, depending on what it looked like. Yeah. We we might have felt differently about the prospects of this team. I think the optics are really important. Yeah. Yeah. And I think the optics for Jonathan Ganon right now are tough. And this is the first time in his tenure really consistently that I have people reaching out to me that I see the comments on social media that yeah, John, this isn’t going to work out with John Ganon and they’re two and one right now. And I I think that like the Cardinals internally, I hope not, but might have a different sense of like, hey, we’re fine. We we feel good about it. I mean, we heard people last week, you know, Marv publicly putting on a brave face like, “Hey, we’re two and0. I don’t want you to worry about targets, right?” But when when, as Claymore Jones says, the optics are bad. You’re two and one, but is it a fraudulent two in one? And now people don’t have belief in the head coach for the first time in three years. Not a not everybody, but a segment of the fan base. That’s that’s a very difficult water to kind of navigate. And and you see people saying bench Marvin Harrison Jr. And this is the last year for Kyler Marine. It’s like we’re in September. And I I I think like if they ever needed a perform a get-right performance, it’s Thursday night. And I don’t mean like for the offense. I mean just to get out of there with a win. I mean, like losing to Seattle yet again. I mean, you haven’t beaten Seattle in the JG tenure. I mean, I think Cliff got swept his last year. Was it 2021 was the last it was? I think it was Colt McCoy on the road that won that game for them. Very M. Joneses in those in those efforts. But I I just this feels different like last year like you felt like okay Kyler’s got to play better and Ganon have his players and you got to give them more time and like I think it’s unequivocally I get people sending me like here’s who I want for our next head coach. Unequivocally patience. Yeah. Patience has run out and it’s sad because I I have immense belief in Jonathan Ganon the culture builder NFL PA grade. He got an A. He’s He’s good for this franchise. They’re lucky to have him. But the biggest kind of bugaboo for defensive head coaches, and you know where I’m going with this, it like Mike Zimmer got fired. If you can’t get the offense right, it does not matter. It doesn’t not in the year of our football lord 2025. You cannot be a bad watch offensively. You can be average and you can have complimentary offense to a dominant defense. And I’m sure that’s what they were hoping to have this year, but man oh man, you cannot be the worst team in the NFL week in and week out throwing the football. You can’t. Right. It can’t have taken a a step backwards. It didn’t have much room to to go back. Right. Right. It needed to not even stay the status quo. It needed to get better. And we haven’t seen that brand of football yet. You know, LA yesterday I brought it up back and people are gonna say, you know, devil’s advocate or I’m carrying water this and that. Yeah. Um, brah Brock. Brah Brock. Uh, you know, but at this point last year, the defense was in a tough place, right? And and it’s a game of adjustments. And I think when you see quotes like you saw from your head coach yesterday, he understands that his best path forward in the interim in the short term is to is is make sure that Drew Petting isn’t worried that he’s going to be fired tomorrow. I I I do I do believe that there’s something to that. Like say that one more time for audience. I mean as far as Jonathan Ganon going to bat for his guy Drew Petting is that like if you’re m the grass isn’t going to be greener on the other side. like I don’t think there’s any like true internal options there. There’s still a sense of conviction and confidence from the head coach for his play caller and he’s not going to just go out there and just try to appease a radio audience or a press conference corp and you know them you know tweeting out quotes from it and and and really kind of put his guy uh you know throw him under the bus. I I just don’t think he’s going to do that. So what he what he’s going to try to accomplish is is what you saw defensively last year where you saw them pretty much a mirror of where the offense is this year is where the defense was at this point last year. Can they kind of jumpst start it? Can they start to trend those numbers the other direction? I understand the skepticism. It’s not Nick Rollis, it’s Drew Petting. It’s also your head coach is a defensive savant. Where’s the help come from? Drew is on an island and and frankly he was probably given too much power and leeway. He probably should be a run game coordinator or historically people have thought that now the run game does not look good this year. I I that’s my biggest concern and I think that’s JG’s biggest concern. It’s like no I think Drew is smart and we need Drew but for whatever reason Drew’s this is this cannot be argued. The Cardinal would would push back on this and it might come off as disrespectful. their their messaging offensively is not resonating with the players. Okay, the players can say everything they want publicly when no one is performing offensively outside of some tight ends and and the quarterback’s frustrating, the receivers, it’s a passing league, your message isn’t working. I’m sorry. You’re they they have lost belief in you internally inside themselves knowing that your scheme is not a winning scheme. Like we you want to go to bat for your employer or your leader because you believe in what they’re saying, right? in every walk of life. If if you go to the playbook and you’re in the huddle with Kyler Murray and you hear 13 personnel or you hear a draw play on third and nine, guess what the receivers do again? We’re giving up a drive again. How about I just go back to that final possession? You see Dan Campbell last night on Monday Night Football beat the Ravens in Baltimore fourth and two throwing the football downfield and his players have immense confidence. By the way, Dan Campbell looked like he aced his new OC hire. What do the Cardinals do for three straight weeks? They wet the bed with a chance to put the game away needing a first down. And Drew Pine, those first two plays on that final first and 10. It’s a carry. It’s predictable. It’s Kyler Murray on a keep. It’s predictable. We have to throw the ball now on third and nine. And you can’t execute because you never throw throughout the game and there’s no rhythm. The Lions throw all game long. Amanron St. Brown is effing hot and at the end of the game he’s ready to make the winning play. Like the co the Cardinals, this is so easy to telegraph that I’m not gonna toot my own horn here, but that’s why this is easy to see coming because they have no cohesion with their passing game and I think the players have shut down. Let’s hear from some players here in just a bit. We’re going to of course go to break and then you’ll hear from your franchise quarterback, Kyler Murray. You’ll hear from Michael Wilson. I want people to feel like, hey, let’s let’s talk. Let’s have a good time. And now it’s time to dog on the Cardinal offense some more. So, what I was going to say is you were in Tempe today. The who’s who. I thought Marv was talking today. First of all, did I have that wrong? A lot of people thought Marv was going to talk today, but it’s it’s a different schedule. Okay. Marv usually follows Kyler Murray’s press conference on Wednesday afternoon and um just with the Thursday night schedule, I think guys were kind of starting to roll in around 10. Media availability was like 10 to 10:45. Marv uh he was either working out or he was somewhere else in the facility. Didn’t get to catch up with the fourth overall pick, but who we did get to catch up with is a friend of the program. Yeah, of course you saw him throughout last season uh and on this show several times before, Michael Wilson. And you’ve pointed out Michael Wilson’s part of that group of of wide receivers that you’re looking for to make an impact, but has been, you know, saddled with what was it, three catches for 21 yards. Yeah. And you know that Michael Wilson, former third round pick, guy that had success his rookie season and success his second season, that he’s way better than that. Those the statistics kind of point or will allude to. Here’s Michael Wilson just talking about uh just how he’s feeling as far as his role and his impact. I don’t know. I think obviously you got to look internally first and uh I think we definitely left some plays out there. I thought Kyler played a really good game and gave us opportunities and I think we had some unfortunate, you know, error catching the football and I don’t think that’s been a theme of our room since I’ve been here for the last three years and I think it just showed up in the game unfortunately. Um, but as far as I understand like catches and stuff haven’t been there and obviously production hasn’t been there. Um, and we do have a small sample size. We played three games. It’s a long season. Um, but we just got to continue to practice and prepare and yeah, that’s that’s really all you can do is just keep putting one foot forward and eventually, you know, you keep doing the right things, hopefully it’ll it’ll yield the result you want. But I definitely know that I mean I’m not I’m not satisfied at all having three catches for I don’t know 20 20 or whatever yards like that definitely hurts my soul and it uh it kind of it kind of keeps me awake at night, you know, not not feeling like I’m able to produce at a high high enough level to help our team. speaking somebody has a three-month-old and he’s got a less than a month old baby and like sleep is is precious. Yeah. And if you got something else other than your new bundle of joy keeping you up, that’s tough when you when when you got to, you know, obviously focus day in and day out and and gear up. Uh it it’s it is really atrocious what’s happening with the wide receivers on. I mean, does does he not sound like I’m not I don’t want to use the word defeated cuz like they got a 14 games to play. They got everything in front of him, but like tell me everybody we got 400 people watching the show right now. Does that sound like a player that’s ready to run through a wall for his OC? That sounds like a guy who’s been stymied by his coordinator. And I I just Here’s where I’m at with the drops. I hate the drops, but I don’t hate the drops for the reason that I think everybody else hates the drops. I hate the drops on Sunday because I think it’s a gloss over this problem we’ve had as a a vertical passing game here in Arizona for the last 18 months and I think everybody’s keyed in on the drops like well if D Marcato catches that pass everything’s fine. No, everything’s not fine. You target your receivers the least amount in the NFL and you’re and now we’re using these drops as well that’s the reason we didn’t win the game and we’re going to get to where we want to be. Like this is 2025. You don’t have a modern passing game. You check down to running backs and tight ends. You run 13 personnel more than any team in the NFL. Like I your receivers have either shut down or stopped responding and now it’s impacting clearly their play. Like Michael Wilson was a thoroughbred when he came to Cardinals camp two years ago. We were there covering it every day. He was an ascending player. Why is everybody getting worse suddenly? Why does Marvin Harrison Jr. leave the Big 10 as one of the most highly decorated players of all time? didn’t need an off seasonason, didn’t need the draft season, and comes here and suddenly he can’t play. Like, what’s the common denominator? I wonder. They can’t all be bad. Like, again, and I think that that’s the problem right now with the messaging unfortunately from Jonathan Ganon. It’s like we’re putting it on the players. It’s like, “No, man. Look in the mirror. Look at the coordinator. They’re not resonating.” Like, they the Cardinals made a decision last off season. They fired their defensive line coach who had no players because Jonathan Ganon said we weren’t getting the production we needed. What What’s Why does Drew Petting still have a job as an offensive coordinator when we don’t get any production from the wide receivers? I remember like we’d heard rumblings the Cardinals were going to make changes on their staff and they came out and they were defensive guys. I mean, it blew my mind and now we’re sitting here and it’s like, “Hey, they can’t throw the football downfield and all the wide receivers are broken.” It’s like, nope. I actually really like his play calls. It’s like what? Right. And it it it feeds into what we heard from Marvin Harrison Jr. I asked him his locker last week. You know, are you not content, but you know, did you feel like you made an impact the previous week where, you know, he had the 38 yard DPI and you’re finding these these just kind of little wins within the game? and he said, “No, I mean, the way that he prepares day in and day out, the amount of time that he puts into this, and this goes into the off seasonason where we’re hearing, you know, Marvin Harrison Jr. hasn’t left the facility. He doesn’t go on vacation. He’s just preparing for his second season in the NFL so he can make his biggest impact.” And then week in and week out, he’s robbed of that ability to do that. Same thing goes for Michael Wilson. He’s just cut from a similar cloth as MHJ. post practice, he’s out there catching 200 balls. He’s doing everything that’s being asked of him. No, no rock. No, no block, no rock, right? They’re blocking. Yeah, they’re blocking plenty as far as a wide receiver room should. You got to reward them. And you got to re reward them by by giving them opportunities to produce for this team. that like when I saw that bite today, I’m like, “Okay, yeah, this is clearly like between that bite and Marv’s bite and now Kyler Murray’s comments today,” which I mean, he was very like not stoic, but he was very like I don’t know, he had good leadership qualities at his presser today, but clearly like he’s not happy with it. Somebody tried to get cute with him and asked about the uniforms for Thursday and he was quick and he was like, “I was that you by the way? I I didn’t know that was you. I’m sorry.” No, you were trying. I’m sure you were trying to provide some levity. Levity. It was the end of the press conference. He’s like, I’m just trying to win a game. That’s great that that was your question. I had no idea. Oh, man. Noah, isn’t that the the greatest? Oh, that’s pretty good. That’s pretty good. I unders I I I got the sense. Hey, hey, buddy. Kyler, what do you think? You have the clip, Noah. Hold on. I I got the sense that the press conference is over and I just wanted to get a a vibe check, you know, as far as the uniforms. Holy hell, that’s gold. Let’s see it. And then this was the franchise quarterback’s response. Man, I’m trying to win the game. Yeah, we got to win the game. Guy talking about uniforms out here. That means Kyler Murray could go out there in a burlap sack and be like, just I just want a dub. I don’t care about the new Nike freshness. I don’t care about I like that answer. Absolutely. I like that. I think that’s a great answer. I mean, I felt like a total complete idiot. But no, like you said what you said. I understand. You can’t There’s no coming back. I can’t I can’t go back on that. Uh listen, we all have our off days. That’s fine. Wow. No, I’m just kidding. No, but I I appreciated the answer. I I did. It was a good answer and it was a good question by my co-host. And man, oh man, what a segue. Get serious. We’ve had We did ask We did ask questions. Can I like Can I give you some credit? Like I didn’t think that he would respond to you that way. I assume he was responding to some other reporters that way. Like given given the history and he’s been on our show and and we have a relation you have a relationship, but like clearly it’s everything supersedes that now because of the fact that how how the offense looks, right? Well, and we did talk to him about uh you know the offense in a lot of the stuff. you know, it’s just it’s getting a a pulse of it. Um, but you know, my co-host doesn’t seem to understand that. He just lets a dumb question’s a dumb question. Let’s get into uh actually brass tax with Kyler Murray in this offense. No, I mean, I don’t think one series is uh is just, you know, means you’re playing good offensive football. I think um in totality we got to play better complimentary football. Like we get we get a pick, we go three and out. Uh we get a safety, we don’t finish the game. It’s stuff like that just honestly, man, just uh it’s it’s it’s tough to swallow. You know, it’s uh especially when you know, you feel like you’re on the the winning side of what’s taking place throughout, you know, in that game. Uh you know, usually you’re on the other side of that or I’ve been on the other side of like, damn, you know, we got to come back or something like that, but like defense held up, defense did what they needed to do, and you know, offensively we just didn’t finish the game. So, um no, we got to be more consistent. We got to make the plays when they’re there. It’s really simple. Simple as that. You know, it’s it’s really not a complicated game. you got to make plays. So yeah, simplifying it like, hey, we’re not making any excuses for it, you know, and you’ll hear more, I think, from Michael Wilson on that same kind of topic. Like we heard Ganon saying, hey, well, like in order for the pass to work, you got to have the run game to work. And that that’s not what Kyler’s saying. That’s not what I mean, it would help. It’d be just nice to have get that run game back. Yeah. And and welloiled, but we understand that we just need to make plays. we need to make plays as an offense and uh I I my question there was you know it wasn’t you know what what’s your favorite color it was you know what do you what’s it going to take to get this offense back on track is it is it a good play is a good series is it a good is it stacking a couple good series or is it you know a full complete game and he just said in in totality they just have to play better complimentary football and play better overall as a unit we have this graphic let’s pull this up Noah um for Kyler Murray. And I got this from my my buddy Seth Cox at revenge of the birds.com. He sent this to me this morning. Then he posted it on Twitter. Basically, the Cardinals uh are last or close to it in the NFL. Um when uh leading uh and then yet, let me see here. I’m I’m butchering this here. The Arizona Cardinals uh pass are so good at passing when they’re trailing yet can’t throw the ball consistently consistently when they’re leading. their top EPA pass when trailing in an NFL game and then they’re 18th. So they’re not last when they’re leading, which I I find hard to believe. Um, so they’re the they’re the best offense in the NFL throwing the football when trailing. So I like I look at that and it’s just like people want to understand and again they’ve trailed over the course of all three games. You think about like with this team specifically. What are you guys snickering at? What were you laughing at? Sports hero just roasting me. Okay, that’s great. Properly. I love that. They hate Kyler. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Okay, came off a brutal loss. I I like short week. Dee, I echo that. I think like that graphic and then like the throw like Kyler Murray’s arm looks good. Mhm. I think his arm looks good. I think his mobility looks good. I he threw a touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison Jr. from How far? How deep was that play? 31 32 yards. That reminded me like the CD Lamb play in the Oklahoma Alabama game. his one of his last games last game in college football where he’s on the run, you know, he’s thrown on the run to see Lamb in the end zone. Like I I think K like Kyler Murray’s ready to throw the football. Clearly, he’s ready to rip it. And if I I am starting to believe more and more that Jonathan Ganon wants to play this way offensively and this is this is how they believe they can win. And I just I clearly like it’s it’s costing you games now. I’m just kind of befuddled by this whole thing cuz I not I didn’t think they’d become like a run and shoot offense, but like I thought this offense every year would take a step in in terms of like evolving. So like Cardinals use their receivers the least amount in the NFL. We had that graphic yesterday. You know who uses their receivers the most in the NFL? Does anybody know in that same graphic? The uh Los Angeles Chargers. And you saw that team early on with Harbaugh and they ran the ball because they love it. But they also ran it because of their personnel. And as they got Lad Mani and they brought in Keenan Allen and Quinton Johnson, got coached up, they now spread the ball around. And it’s like, and they have Greg Roman who loves to run the football, right? And it’s just like Cardinals, what’s your excuse? This should be the, again, I use the word crescendo. You developed Michael Wilson, he’s in year three. You’ve developed Marvin Harrison Jr., he’s in year two. I mean, you love Z Jones, you brought him back on a one-year deal. Greg Dorsch has been here. You’ve tendered them every year. You’ve got the best tight end in the NFL. You’ve got a nice complimentary receiving tight end. You These are all your guys. You’ve made this decision to keep them here. This is not Josh Dob’s offense with Zack Pascal from two years ago. It’s like the Cardinals. And I said this all off seasonason. They’ve regressed from this point. But I said, I thought Drew Pian would be a great entrylevel OC, but he has a ceiling. Can he get through that next step as a as a play caller? He is failing that opportunity right now. I don’t I don’t think that can be argued. Like we we were hoping, okay, take what you did well last year and build on it. Well, they can’t run the football as well as last year and their passing game is suffering as a result. I I just I I you almost feel like they went into this offseason like, yeah, we we’ll move Marvin around a little bit more, but everything else should take care of itself. Is uh the slow start to the passing attack, is it impacting Kyler Murray with his wide receivers? We’ll get into that here coming up next. PHX Cardinals. Uh we’re going to do trending up, trending down right around the corner. But first, Bo, Kyler Murray continued on with Marvin Harrison Jr. absent today. Uh not from practice, but we did get Michael Wilson a little bit of yell to Froalt. Um, I know people are are kind of taking the task, Marv, in this passing game and you could tell like Kyler Murray, it’s this is a really good week for them to play on Thursday night football to be able to shake off what happened on Sunday. I I think I think if if you’ve got a sense of pride as a play caller and now as a passing game, you know, unit with Marv and everybody else, like you should want to play Seattle and and show that that you can achieve the the kind of success that we all expect you to have. Yeah. I mean, there’s I I was listening to Matt Hasselbeck from the Seahawks standpoint and he was talking about during his playing days playing on Thursday and as far as like adjustments go from playing on Sunday and then having to play again on Thursday. Like what you see on tape is likely what you’re going to see out there on the g in the game. Yeah. There isn’t like they’re not going to just come and say, “Hey, we’re going to completely revamp the uh the approach here, the game plan.” So, like with that being said, you Kyler Murray has seen this Mike McDonald Seattle Seahawks defense. We know it didn’t go well, but there’s some familiarity there. You know what to expect. Can you take advantage of that? Can and you’re at home, right? You’re the ones not having to travel. Like, there are a couple things that play to the Cardinals advantages, but can they turn those into advantages, right? Or or is it going to be are they going to come out and is it going to be the status quo offensively? Are they going to continue to just kind of kick the can down the road that way? You know, I and I see like a lot of people kind of feel that and and just think that they’re just going to run into a buzzsaw Thursday night. They they’ve got an opportunity to kind of change that. But we did hear from Kyler Murray. Like are things getting tense between him and his wide receivers? Doesn’t sound like it. Um no, I talk to those dudes every day. Every day. Literally. Uh on and off the field. Um, so you know, I I my thing is, you know, I’m trying to build confidence each and every day. Um, and continue to give my guys opportunities when they’re when they’re there. Um, and I’m going to continue to do that. You know, obviously Drew makes the calls and then we got to go out there and execute. But, uh, when whenever the opportunity presents itself or the chances are there, I’m definitely going to give my guys opportunities. A lot of people ran with that today where we put it out there and said obviously Drew calls the plays and I I I I don’t know. I think it’s good that Kyler Murray’s like putting that out there. I don’t think he put it out there to be disingenuous, but it’s like Drew is calling the plays and it’s it’s it’s Drew’s baby. This is Drew’s offense, right? Like you saw Tennessee East’s coach gave up play calling. Atlanta’s firing coaches. Like, hey, I think everybody should know if they don’t already like this is a byproduct of Drew Petting calling plays during a game. And I people are upset that the Cardinals don’t like have more divas to like combat this in their locker room. I don’t think that matters. Well, and also it’s, you know, coaching points, right? Kyler Murray is is running the plays that are called in by the play caller. And then it’s also the coaching points. Hey, if this isn’t there, if if you’re facing um you know um what is it like he was talking about today? Um the the the why why am I blanking on it? Too too high safety. Too high safety. Like you know, is he is he what’s he allowed to do? is we’re doing because B we don’t have the clip queued up but he’s saying they are facing a lot of two high safety and with those looks it the coaching is to dink and dunk but like to Kyler’s point is like hey we’re going to take that that’s that’s the approach but we’re still not getting it done in the red zone so they’re one of the worst red zone teams over the last year so like even though they’re doing what they’re coached and and they’re they’re winning the time of possession as we pointed out yesterday right 30 over 31 and a uh minutes per game. They’re not producing and I think they understand that. Um you know, there was talk yesterday from JG and Nick Rollis or JG and Drew Petting about, you know, getting that run game going and how it could pay off for the passing game. We talked to Michael Wilson about, you know, what benefits that could potentially yield for the Cardinals. That’s a good question. I think obviously the way our identity wants to be ideally in our offense is our pass game is an extension of our run game. And so I I definitely do feel that if we’re not running the ball as efficiently as we have in the past and it’s going to make some of our run actions and play actions a little bit harder. Um but if that’s the way that it’s been the last couple weeks, like we got to find a way to throw the ball and and complete balls downfield and get open and catch the football and play fast. Like ultimately it’s it it’s going to come down to our room and I feel like we haven’t been doing a good enough job of like I said getting the job. Yeah. I mean I I I believe what he’s saying and I believe that like the thought process behind it. You run the football, it opens up the passing game. I’m a broken record on this show cuz I said it yesterday after JG confirmed that like they they they never thrown the ball well even with a top five to seven rushing game. Like I I I we’re sitting here and it’s like we’ll just wait for the run game to pick up. I saw like you know people lo local media here has put that out and has made that a sticking point. Well, they got to get the run game going. Guys, they had a great run game last year. It didn’t matter, right? Like the Michael Wilson, Marv, they didn’t get targets last year when that happened. like, “Hey, congratulations. You ran for 160 yards and you still lost. You still couldn’t score enough points and now you have James Connor who was one of your most effective red zone players.” I I teams will let the Cardinals get yardage from the 20 to the 20. It’s like they the p like think about last year. The best example of the incompetence offensively is that the best tight end in the world is on this team and didn’t have a receiving tight end until the second to last game of the year. So, you love your tight ends and running backs. Your route concepts couldn’t get Trey McBride a receiving touchdown for 16 weeks. That’s insane. And I think it’s a microcosm of this passing attack. So, the the run game is whatever to me. Like I I did they run it well this weekend? No, not particularly. But you know what? The pass was there. We saw it. We saw it in the second half. Kyler Murray wasn’t under any pressure. And did they force the issue? They did it one time. That drive worked conveniently. They scored a touchdown. Yeah, we didn’t get to it yesterday, but we’re going to get to it now. Who’s trending up? Who’s trending down for the Arizona Cardinals is all coming up next. PHX cards. It’s time for trending up, trending down. We do usually do it on a Monday, but yesterday was an absolute blood bath on this show, so we pushed it a day. Uh, let’s let’s try to stay positive here. Let’s start with trending up and Bo Brock, what do you got for the viewers at home? Let’s see it. Uh, we’ve got How about Trey Benson getting that RB1 opportunity everybody envisioned? Yeah. For him back when they drafted him, 66th overall in the 2024 draft. You saw the highlights from Florida State. Now, some things have transpired between now and then. and and people are really curious what they’re going to see with Trey Benson, but like the opportunities here. This is his run game to take control of. What he does with it, uh that remains to be seen. But look, you saw a guy that had uh some game-breaking speed with the Seminals. Really played sparingly last year and we’re seeing, you know, a a greater role this year, but now he’s got the keys to the offense or at least the run game and one that needs to get right. Can Trey Benson get going north and south enough to get those chunk yardages that we’re used to seeing from this offense that it’s been kind of quiet outside of the Benson 52 yard run and 29 yard run. Can he do it? But can he also, Johnny, get those dirty yards? He’s trending up to me because he gets that opportunity that everybody envisioned that was kind of stunted when James Connor signed that two-year extension. Yeah. Can I just say I think Trey Benson’s going to do a nice job. I I wanted Cam Scataboo here. I think I’ve been proven right. We’ll get to that. But Trey Benson to me, like James Connor, and I’ve said this consistently, is a rhythm carrier of the football. He needs bulk carries to get going and feel comfortable. And I think you’ve seen that this year. He already has a much better start to his rookie season cuz his carries were coming in volumes, right? He’s gotten entire drives to himself. Is he ever going to be like the power short yardage back that James Connor was? Absolutely not. But I think on the flip side, what you can see is he is going to break 20, 30, 40 yard runs. And that’s that’s a trade-off. And he was a top 100 pick. He was one of the first two backs taken in the draft last year. D Marcato outside of the drop has been great. And then Michael Carter hopefully being elevated. That’s your change of pace group. So I am I like I I don’t think you’re going to have excuses in terms of the run game. I think it will be okay. Yeah. Well, remains to be seen. Got to start somewhere. It’s Thursday night potentially. Let’s keep it going with my trending up. M Wilson Seiner was a man possessed on Sunday. He was a part of that key cog in that defense that did its part in a tough loss to the 49ers. How about uh M Wilson 12 tackles, pair of passes defense, including absolutely laying some wood on Christian McCaffrey and a TFL for M. Wilson senior. think he’s really kind of finding himself at this position change where he goes from Will to Mike linebacker and in the you know obviously the the quarterback out there on the defense uh calling the calling the calls. Yep. Uh he has been one of the best free agent signings. He was the gem of the free agent class that was otherwise a disaster in 2024 and I think he is putting together and we kind of telegraphed this in the offseason. He’s going to put together a Pro Bowl kind of season. Yeah. Takeaways trending up. Obviously, they were robbed of one a Will Johnson in the opener, but since then, two to start week two and then also a takeaway from Rabbit Taylor Demerson this past week, plus a safety. Give me the takeaways. It’s something we wanted to see with the uh improved personnel on defense and we’re starting to see that play payoff for Nick Rollis and Crew. The safeties in general have been playing really well. Katon Crawford played well when he got in last weekend. Taylor Demerson, Jaylen Thompson had to play the slot. did the best he could. So then of course Buddha Baker. So yeah, I agree with all three. Here are my trending up for 2025 week three. The 2025 free agent class. Dvin Tomlinson, Kus Campbell, Josh Schwe, they’ve all been fantastic. Tomlinson in particular looks good. Uh I think again this not a knock on guys like those three guys needed some added conditioning. They had a relatively light workload because of their age, because of Sweaty Jay’s workload as a Philadelphia Eagle playing late into January, February. Like those guys didn’t hit as much. They didn’t play in the preseason. And I thought you could see that kind of knock off some rust week one at New Orleans. But guess what? They’ve been three of the most dominant players the last two weeks. They’ve been great. Tomlinson, TFL, Kas, multiple sacks. Sweaty Jay, multiple sacks. Like, it’s unfortunate. Cardinals are going to have multiple players I think with double digit sacks this year and the offense is kind of playing spoiler to that. But to me, uh, Monty Austin Ford knew the assignment this off season. He didn’t get cheap. He didn’t skimp. He went big on these players and he’s going to add Walter Nolan to this. I know he’s a draft pick, not a free agent, but uh, to me I’m bullish of this group. Bo, I like it. I do like it. You especially you’re removed, as you mentioned, from a tough class. Yes. Yeah. Uh I I’ll pass Robert Taylor Demerson because obviously he did well uh on Bose’s list, but Yel Frol, who we have presser clips. We’re probably gonna skip on that today. Uh his PFF grade much better this week. I thought he was excellent as a pass protector. I honestly think the O line’s doing pretty good outside of week one. Again, Cardinals didn’t hit a lot with their first team offensive line in the preseason. So again, that unit, it needed extra time. The run blocking that remains to be seen. I know Teao Mackey asked um what was it Drew Pineing if the Clayton Adams departure is impacting the run game and it was a firm no from Drew Petting which I think all of us scoff at. But just from a pass protection standpoint, Froltz’s been fantastic. Um you you need Isaiah Adams to meet him at his level potentially. But that interior offensive line is going to have to carry the load this week because you’re going up against two fearsome defensive tackles for Seattle. We don’t know the status of Paris Johnson Jr. Now Kelvin Beichum didn’t practice like that. That’s a That’s a group that has a chance to dictate this game and they need to build off a a solid pass protecting performance. Bo, yeah, calling Trey Benson a bust at this point is crazy. I mean, the guy’s averaging six yards a carry with two huge explosive runs on his resume. He’s been behind James Conor. Yeah, he’s behind the the bellcow of the offense. We got some bus here. We can go through some bus. He’s not a bus. I mean, let’s let’s let’s see where he can go on Thursday. Like I said, those dirty runs been between the the tackles. That’s going to be so important. Can you be productive there? Uh let’s get to trending down. Um seems to be the vibe. Let’s get into it. We’re all down. Yeah, that’s where I’ve start. The vibes are down. Yeah, it things are not good. Two and 0. Those vibes are gone. Oh, I love this list. This is the best. What What happened to them? At least you could hang your hat on a dub. No longer vibes at an all-time low in 2025 for the Cardinals. We just saw a very downtrodden Michael Wilson. We aren’t seeing guys that are happy golucky any longer. Uh Vibes down. Amari Demercado, he’s down for me as well. He’s trending down. Had a sure touchdown. I felt like that he could have really kind of changed that game. Dropped it. Amari’s been a guy that is is a self-made player. you love his path to being on the Cardinals for a third straight year and having his role, but man, did he just kind of blow an opportunity to take advantage of James not being there and him kind of taking on a bigger role in this offense that uh just hurts. I mean, I think he was trending down before like Trey Benson had taken that third down back role. Yeah. So, uh we’ll see what what his role is going forward. And then me, I’m just trending down right now. I had some some takes. Let’s take the graphic off the screen so Bo can talk to the people right now. I had some takes where I said, “Hey, let’s let’s be patient here. Let’s let’s give Drew Petting this offense the benefit some of some time and then I watched the first half of football being played in San Francisco and I said, “You guys might be on to something.” Uh, that was kind of strike one. I will not take any flack for being Cam Scat anti-Cam Scataboo with the Cardinals. I mean, they didn’t miss out on drafting. He was drafted before they they selected in the fourth round. So, they didn’t miss on him. They would have sacrificed taking Jordan Burch to get Cam Scataboo, but whatever. Don’t let the details get in the way of your point. Uh, but no, look, I I I’m trending down and there’s there’s only one way to go from there. It’s back up. In the words of Dr. Ian Malcolm, got to hate being right all the time. Here’s trending down for me on a week three. Uh, and boy, we all respect you. Offensive confidence, Drew Padine. I think just the confidence from the players offensively. You saw it. I made this list before that Michael Wilson presser Marv emotional in his locker. You’ve broken this offense. You’ve broken the player spirits. You And here’s the here’s the kicker. You guys just speak on the mantra of we want guys who captains, academic, all high football character. You know how hard it is to break guys. You can break Tyreek Hill. You know how hard it is to break to break Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr., you know how much messaging has to go in one ear and out the other to break these young men? That that that to me is a huge indictment of their offensive coordinator right now. Uh running back depth is trending down as well. Bam Knight, I forgot about him. He had a nice preseason. He actually made the team over Michael Carter, which I completely forgot about. Um, but I mean their Trey Benson injury or Trey Benson ineffectiveness away from that that’s dicey. And again, you can supplement like give Cliff Kingsbury credit. He traded they traded for Kenyan Drake mid mid year and it and they it was seamless the next year. But the Cardinals are so dependent on backs. I mean James Connor was a crutch in the best possible way for Drew Ping. I we’ll see what happens now. But Trey Benson has never carried the ball more than what 15 times in an NFL game. And now he’s like the guy. He’s the man. He is the man. Uh Cam Scataboo could help alleviate some of that workload. The Scataboo Doubters, mostly Bo Brock, but the Scataboo Doubters. Cam Scataboo already taken over here in week four for um the New York Giants backfield. Yeah, the Cam Scataboo is a man among men against the Kansas City Chiefs on uh prime time. He’s running over players, scored their only touchdown. I’m not saying you take him over Jordan Bur, but we started our coverage day three of the draft. We we we had done about 20 hours of coverage and the Cardinals were picking in the top what were the top half of the fourth round. They needed to trade up with the first pick of the fourth round to get Cam Scataboo. It would have cost you a ham sandwich to get up and get Cam Scataboo. But they, you know, they overthought it and now I mean like I the Giants are a disaster, but like Cam Scataboo is going to be a revelation for the It’s your favorite offense. You love the Giants offense. You love it, Neighbors. Scatter. You just love it. You point to them all the time. It’s it’s your main point maker. Look at Neighbors. Look at Scat. Those are my beloved. And it’s it all that’s wrong. All that’s wrong here is all that’s right in the Big Apple. And Cam Scataboo. And look, at least Cam Cam would Scataboo would have been the best RB3, RB4 in the league here, too. He would be RB1 right now here. I No. Do you agree with that? Yeah. Watching Cam Scataboo run. This is We’re not dissecting Panera Bread that AC ASU played last year. Cam Scatoo is running hard and scoring touchdowns in the NFL. Yeah, he it’s and like the vibes are great with Scat. He’s yelling at people. He’s getting people fired up. I mean, that part that’s part of it, too. The Cardinals offense is the walking dead right now. They have no juice. They have negative juice. Scatter’s over there. It’s crazy how you guys talk out of both sides of your mouth. He’s like, “You I throw it to the wide receiver. Throw it to Marv. Draft a running back. Draft a third running back.” You still need to run, but you still But I think Cam can catch the ball out of the back field. Clearly, De Marcado dropped that pass last week. Does Does Cam catch that ball? I think we know. I think we know. I I I it’s it’s it’s been an unbelievable conversation. It continues on. But for those with our TV partners who’ve been along for the journey, go to gophnx.com. PHNX Cardinals continues there. Overtime. Pew. I love Scat. I do love Scat. Is that part of our our overtime? Unbelievable. I got to take crap for them not trading up in the fourth round for Cam Scataboo. You do. You do. Absolutely. And here’s the thing. It’s It’s just It’s another one of those where it’s like I’m not antiscat. You are. It’s like I I It’s like there was there’s a position that was full for the Cardinals. You guys were like, “Go get him.” I had some takes this off. I think he’s gonna be I I’ve said it. You you can go back look for the receipts. I I said he I thought he was going to be a good NFL running back. I did I think you said you thought he was going to be like a good RB2 RB3. I don’t think you like his phone right here. You never you never said he was going to be a good starter. What are you 12? I I need to have No, I think tomorrow should just be me exclusively going through all of my wins from the off season. The passing game’s a bust. Check. Great. Such a humble host. I wanted Hassan Reic. He’s kicking ass right now. Although sweat’s great, too. I mean, I just lot a lot lot of things are going really well for me. Um yeah, the pass rush is not an issue. No, it’s not. It’ be sweet to have us on Raticure, though. Um man, what else do you want to talk about this? I mean, this game Thursday night, the Cardinals initially came out as a favorite. Now they’re an underdog one and a half plus one and a half uh at home against Seattle. I mean, like we’re going to Is that a product of the public money? No, I think it’s a product of people not believing the Cardinals can score points. I think there’s I’m going to tell you right now and Ganon hates this. There’s noise around this team. There is. When you have to ask players about the passing game every day, all day and that’s going to continue. Like, guess what? You’ve entered in you’ve entered in is Drew Petty being fired every week moving forward until you have a good offensive game. Welcome to the NFL. And and to Drew’s credit, yesterday he said like comes with the territory, right? Yep. Guess what Matt Eberlu’s had to deal with every week with Shane Waldron last year? Are you gonna fire Shane Waldron? Are you gonna make a change a play caller? Because guess what? This is a You’re not grandfathered into these roles. Turns out that this fan base and the NFL in general, we have never had more information at our disposal. Not only can we see that it’s not a good product with our eyes, you can have all the analytics and data and say, “Here you go.” And you and Teao Mackey and people can go, “Here, coach. What do you think about this?” And you can only spin it for so long, especially when it’s impacting your bottom dollar in terms of wins. I I think they this is the most important game of the Jonathan Ganon era this Thursday night. It used to be last year, you know, the Seahawk game at home or the Carolina game on the road. No, this is it because you got 10 days off and your season can do one of two things. You win and you look competent offensively, which god forbid is a huge ask, and you’re okay. you got some breathing room. If you lose and the offense looks bad, guess what? Guess what the attention’s going to turn to? Not playoffs, but when is the coordinator being fired? When are you making changes? Is JG on the hot seat? Which I don’t believe to be true. I don’t think anything could could happen to JG this year, but like that’s that’s the reality of the situation. You’re you’re only grandfathered in so much grace as a play caller. It would it would create a lot of goodwill if they can get something going. But c can you can you hold off the dog the dogs? Can you hold off the angry mob uh one more week? It doesn’t go away like like you said like this is this is just maybe putting it on pause for like you said a little bit of a elongated period and then you get the Titans right with it with another opportunity to get it right the following week. Then you got to stack performances because until there’s maybe a longer proof of performance there’s not going to be buying. Like I I think the Cardinals could very well like if they had a decent performance on Thursday and one against the Titans and then another against the Colts and the Green Bay Packers, like it it’s still not going to inspire the people who are out on petting until maybe they do it like deep into the into the regular season. I I think Yeah. And I think like at that point then you evaluate Drew at the end of the year and depending on whether or not you make the playoffs, but like like we’re living in I don’t care what they say. I don’t care. We’re living in like week to week you you have one of the worst offenses in the NFL. If that doesn’t change like people lose their jobs. This happens every year. Go look at every coordinator that underperforms that has heat on them coming into the season. The And I love JG. You can say whatever you want. The the fans ownership, public perception, that dictates who’s on your staff based on production. Like Nick Ros has an evergreen contract because he’s elite at his job. He’s flipping elite. When you Mike McCoy, I mean like what happened with Mike McCoy? He had the the was it Steve Wilks? Steve Wils and Mike McCoy. It was it became a running theme. Are you firing him? No. Have confidence in Mike. And then eventually it’s just like, okay, I have to fire him because it’s just this is embarrassing, right? You have to turn to Byron Lewitch. Like this happens every year. Multiple teams by the way. Wils didn’t have control of that staff. That was a handpicked staff from the chief for sure. But I just mean like this this is not a this is not unique. Like we’re not in unique territory. This is year three of a rebuild on a team that backto-back years has a losing record. And the reason that they had a losing record last year at 89 was because what? Because the offense underperformed. And like it’s not the fan base’s fault that you decided number one not to fire Drew and number two not to bring in more talent offensively. Like you guys made that decision. And so like we’re sitting here now and this is the product and people are like okay like what gives you you can’t be pissed off about that. Like this is you’re this consequence is your own actions. Like unless you correct it if this is the status quo like he’s he’s not he’s not staying the OC of this team. Like we’re not we’re not writing this out till January. We’re not wasting a season. Like you you have you have to your players you have to inspire your players. Your players aren’t inspired by this. This this is the NFL. Let’s get into some super chats here. Uh we’ve got you guys crush it all show long. Let’s keep it going. Uh is it call in uh five bucks game on the line? Which you choosing? Classic petting run play or a classic cliff screen pass? I think like classic pets run when it’s working is better than cliff screen pass. But I’d probably go screen pass right now cuz I mean is it Hold on. I need all the facts here. Is is Cliff dialing up the screen pass with a 5’8 receiver blocking down field? Yeah, because then yeah, it’s just it’s dead the rights. But both not great options. Alance jumping in. 499. Why can’t Kyler say something about the play calling to the staff? Why not demand to open it up and air it out uh let’s see early and often? This is insanity. I mean, there’s a good chance that’s happening. Just we it’s not available to the public. They’ll Kyle Murray’s been trained. I think he’s very media savvy now. Like I I think he gives great press conferences. Like I they’re not gonna put that out there and they shouldn’t. I don’t want I don’t want the the Dolphins situation here. I don’t I don’t want that for Jonathan Ganon. I I think that they have built a great culture, but when you have a fracture and it’s costing you wins, it tests your culture and their culture is being tested right now. I mean, this is impacting you. You went into the season, you preached Bo. Everybody preached vibes and everything looked great at camp and now it’s like, “Hey, the game started. You guys, are you guys going to score points? Are you guys going to be able to throw the ball?” Alance comes back. I have a second one. Okay. A Moses 89499. We drafted Tip Ryman in the third round. Bo, we could have had easily traded up to draft Scat in the fourth round. #JV was right about Scat. I mean like if like the justifi I would rather have Jordan Burch than Scat. I have no issue with that. But to say like Scat would have been an overdraft in the third round. I think to your point Aosis he would not have been because they used this third round pick on a blocking tight end. And now like guess what that gimmick of of the blocking tight end in the third round suddenly looks kind of effed up because you can’t run block now. Like the the benefit of having Tip Rhino is we we have an enforcer and we can run. You can’t run block now. Wait. Okay, now he’s just another tight end. It’s like Sakovich. This is That’s what it is. Tip Ryman was cool when the Cardinals could destroy people in the run game. Now what? Sorry I’m being so negative. It’s okay, man. Okay. Yeah, it’s all right. Um I I’m You’re just not going to convince me that trading up to get a third to fourth running back is is the move given their their their group. Yeah, cuz I I mean Demer I think Demer is a good fight. Do two wrongs make a right. What’s that? Like to to take a a tight end 82nd overall and I’m on record saying shouldn’t have done that. Even though I see like what they visualize his role is, right, Tip Ryman, I understand why they did it. Still think you’re punting on the value there. Yeah. And then it’s like, let me ask you guys this. What’s the value of a really good third to fourth running back? I think you and I differed. I I envisioned Scataboo as the air apparent to James Connor. You did not. But then So you’re punting on the third round pick you just took the previous draft. I mean like a guy who averaged 4.6 yards per carry at the NFL level. I De Marcado averaged nine yards per carry. He’s the third string back. Like I I think I think this offense wants to have multiple backs. Like I I don’t Kyle Shannon takes a back every year. So I like I I mean like I don’t think it’s a crazy take for people to have like I we liked Cam one. It’s not based in logic. No, it’s it’s an emotional one. Cam Scataboo had better college tape than Trey Benson. Like that’s not just because he wasn’t like fit fit in a box fit like the prototype running back. Like his vision you couldn’t coach. And clearly it’s like a problem now for NFL defenses. I’ll come on the show. If we fast forward like six weeks from now and he is mid and he does not look good, does anybody think that’s going to happen? like he’s got he’s he’s gonna have a ton of catches, a ton of yards, a ton of touchdowns for that team. But guys, there there’s there’s players like Cam Scataboo, the running back position that are RB1, RB2, like Be is saying at that point in the draft every year. Yeah, but I you know me, like I wanted the the highlight of it being the local product and all that, too. You wanted all the romantic emotional stuff. That’s it. You guys can admit that. No, that’s not not just admit that that that’s what needs to be that’s what I need from you guys. Sorry. He’s a friend of the show. He’s been on the show before and I wanted him to be continue to be a part of this show. I I also and I don’t like you guys can say I’m cherry-picking this because it’s happening recently, but like I like his energy. I’ve always liked his energy. I like he was like throwing up on the sidelines come back in the game. Like I like I’m into that. Everybody likes that. Who doesn’t like that? You apparently you don’t like it. It’s like I I there’s just it’s cache and substance. It’s like the perfect blend. It’s exactly what I want in my NFL player. But I mean, yeah, like I hope I still think Trey Benson’s going to be good. But like, am I comparing Trey Benson to Cam Scataboo moving forward? It’s a great like this. We’re going to have a barometer now and Cardinals have a better offensive line than the Giants. We’ll see who’s more productive. Who do you think we we’ll fast forward two months from now? Who’s more productive, Scatter or Trey Benson? Um, the fact that you even have to think about this. No, because you got to think about the the Giants are going to be chasing leads. We’ll see what they do. They just made a quarterback change today. They did. Are is Cam going to be fed more or less? Like, who if Jackson Dart comes out and is not great? Yeah. Like, does that impact Scat’s ability to to get yards? Like, if is he facing, you know, stack boxes? It’s never been a problem for Scat before. Yeah. He’s gone against he’s gone against like I don’t know he was bouncing off of Chiefs players like it it was a pinball machine. It was unbelievable. Scott 499 I was at that game versus the Niners and I wanted to run onto the field and slap that putts. Jesus come on man. Drove seven hours to the game for that. Loving this new brock. Again I don’t condone hitting anyone. Yeah. But here’s what I will say. That’s a that’s a [ __ ] afternoon driving seven hours to watch that product. And like and again that was the worst of all realities. And again because what did we say before the game? We’re like the way the Niners win this game is if it’s a Nick Bosa Christian McAffrey game. It wasn’t either one of them. Nick Bosa went out early in that game and Christian McAffrey really like he had some decent runs but he wasn’t great and they shut him down in the goal. He got his ass lit up by M Wilson Senior. I uh yeah, and again like that I know Jonathan Ganon didn’t mean disrespect when he when he defended Pine on local radio and I listened to the clip and I didn’t think it was disrespectful, but when you go so hard in the paint to support somebody that now the fan base has it out for that you’re guilty by association. Maybe he wants that and you and you you don’t want to be disassociating yourself from coaches. So, it’s a maybe it’s a lose-lose, but like sports hero is just just crushing me today. Call me Bus Brock. Bo is Bo is of the mindset that Drew Pettine is on the hot seat and is not doing a good job. Like, you’re you’re on that you’re of that mindset, right? Yeah, but I mean, as far as do I think he’s going to get fired anytime soon? I don’t. Yeah, I don’t think I said that. I said like I think it’s fair to qu I put this on Twitter and I delete it because some some people were upset. I think people probably close to Drew, but like I said, it’s it’s fair to wonder and I put this out on Sunday if Drew’s coaching for his job Thursday and then Ganon came out and it’s clearly they’re not going to fire him Thursday if he doesn’t perform well. So, I deleted the tweets. Sports Zero. Don’t worry about it, man. This it’s welcome here. This is a handle. This is ongoing roast. I’m roasted every day for my chugging ability. B can handle it to Johnny. It’s It’s a lot funnier. It’s hilarious. The mocha gate, the chugging, the steak. $9.99 and like Bo never had my back in any of those instances. I’ve had his back. Nothing’s going to hurt me more than my co-host talking trash about my question today organically. Yeah, that was tough. We might not be able to have a show tomorrow. We might need a day a buffer day. There are like four other reporters here locally that I thought would ask that question before Bo. But you asked about uniforms to Montani Austin for the general manager. It was the appropriate time in the offse. It was not just after this team went wearing the uniforms on Thursday the first time ever. I wanted to know, you know, his thoughts and then I got the uniforms changed. People People are saying that I did it. I’m not saying that, but a lot of people are. Do we have any new supporters sponsors? Supporters club. We did have a supporter earlier in the show. I I don’t know if we did. Yeah. No. Would you find that so we can make sure that all the supporters are are highlighted. Um I’m a supporter of this man right here. Uh, okay. So, Drew Petting on the hot seat, not in jeopardy of being relieved of his duties yet. You you don’t think there’s any pressure that comes from the fact that other teams are giving up play callers, firing position, coaches, firing coordinators? I stand by my my original comments where I say like the the heat is getting turned up, right? And it’s it’s going to put his play calling even more so under a microscope and it’s going to be under the microscope from you know the the decision makers like you’re we’re at this point now where like there it is. Yeah, there’s Stephen. Steven just became a member. Hell yeah. I swear I saw somebody else too. Um but appreciate all of our members. Um let me see if I can find it. No, I’m just I’m at the point where like I I hate like being critical of coaches and players who’s had a couple there. Alance, that’s that’s what I saw. Big game for Alons. Appreciate that, Alance. Um I hate coming on this show and being critical of a guy when it could lead not because of my comments or our comments, but could lead to him be becoming unemployed. But you also have to understand like there is so much invested in this season like every season but especially this one when when we’re sitting at home and it’s like execution isn’t great but then beyond that the infrastructure of like what they’re trying to execute. Nobody has belief in this offense anymore. Yeah. That’s the tough that’s the part where like it’s going to take a long time for people to get belief back. And again, winning cures a lot of things, but you can win ugly in this league. Like I I think to for Cardinal fans in particular, it’s like I know this John and Ganon and Austin Ford and Michael Bidwell feel this way. Yeah. They want people buying tickets to watch this team. This is Thursday night is a great litmus test. Like you have earned their trust back off of two very commendable seasons rebuilding the culture and bringing talent here and stars here. on Thursday night at Safe Farm Stadium, if you can’t score points and can’t score touchdowns, people will check out at least not like consistently week to week watching it, but like you’ll lose the credibility that you’ve built over two years. Yeah. And I think that that’s that’s a dangerous thing. This is not Major League Baseball with 162 games. This isn’t this isn’t the NBA where you have load management. Like you get 17 cracks at this. You start the season 0 and2 in the division and the driving catalyst we believe would be back-to-back weeks of offensive ineptitude, people aren’t going to care what you say at press conferences. They’re not going to care about player only meetings. Like people are going to be out. They want change. They’ll want change at that point. People are going to say, “We love you, J. We’ve had enough. You got to get rid of this coordinator.” Right. Well, and like they don’t get pressed for the sins of their predecessors, right? for what Kim and previous coaches did, but like there still is a pretty bad stench as far as playing on a bigger stage. Like that that didn’t get worn off because of how important it is to get eyes on your product and perform. Like the last in 2022, the last year that the Cardinals actually had like couple prime time games, it was bad. Mexico City me, it was an international incident. It was terrible. like they played on Christmas and you had to put out uh Msurley out there. You were there. Yeah, it was bad. Uh and Tom Brady come and beating JJ Watton’s final home game. It was it was a mess. It felt like any prime time game that they got, they they embarrassed themselves. So like you got one token prime time game last year was on an app. It wasn’t an official one. This is a real one. This is Amazon paid a ton of money. They they’ve got Al Michaels and Kirk Curbstreet. They got the whole deal coming out here. your product has to match their quality of product. If it doesn’t, you know, the NFL is gonna put up a stink and and then Michael Bidwell’s antennas are going to be up. Like, are you a serious franchise? You can’t be a serious franchise and look like that offensively. And I again, like I I I think I would feel so much better about this. Yeah. Even after Sunday if the messaging was different yesterday. Hey, we understand. It’s got to be better. It will be better. We’re working on it. I have you could say something effective like I have immense belief in Drew because he’s done it before. Yeah. But thank you Anthony for becoming a member. We appreciate that my guy. I I think like but the to continue to double down. You can’t do that. You can’t you can’t do that when the product looks like this because then me and everybody else we’re just going to start pulling data and none of the data is good. None of the statistics are good. You got to juice your numbers off the 49ers corpse in the finale last year and the and a bad Patriots team. Otherwise, you’re scoring under 20 points per game your last what, like 8 to 10 games, right? You can’t score three touchdowns a game in the NFL. I I just I you got to be really careful. And again, Hank Hill saying this, this came in the press conference Sunday saying people have been running with this. I this is I’m comfortable in the offense that will never change or something effective and it never will play calling, right? And there there’s an important transaction that was made today that that we’re going to get in here before we get out of here. But yeah, there there’s as far as the press conferences, you know, things you didn’t hear what you wanted to hear. I mean, really outside of one hero asking an off-the-wall question to to get an answer that showed the focus of the franchise quarterback. You were testing him. That’s right. And it worked. And and Kyler Murray doesn’t care about the uniforms. Cares about getting that went. It’s what he’s focused on. But everything else is like, I don’t like that. I don’t like that. But I like that. Yep. That’s right. Uh what happened today on the transaction waiver wire? Yeah. the Arizona Cardinals. They went and plucked from the uh was it the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Yeah. Um practice squad. They uh are taking Dantry Jacobs. So, or actually he was on he was on the practice squad. They just brought him up for the Cardinals, not the that not the Bucks. I was thinking the Elijah Simmons deal. So, they’re bringing up an offensive lineman uh who did not perform well. Was it for the Patriots? Yeah. He’s he’s not a good player. He’s hasn’t been good. He plays the tackle position. Can’t imagine this is is trending well to seeing Paris Johnson Jr. this week. Just a little concern as he remains on the injury report. Missed the game on Sunday. I don’t know if they’re just uh there’s not a lot of um I guess experience behind Paris at the tackle in Beach on the at the tackle position. They had to elevate Jake Curran. So, just something to kind of follow here the next couple days. What about Josh Friers? Maybe this is an indictment of him. Maybe he is. I mean, he just he’s an undraft drafted rookie free agent. He’s never played an NFL official NFL snap. He played a lot of preseason. People are saying on Twitter that it could be that Beachch is out and Paris is back. Do you believe that? Beach didn’t practice. Yeah, but that was a rest. Was it? Yeah. I mean, it said he had arrest. And then the as far as Beichum, it’s still I mean, he’s on the injury report for knee, but he’s also on there for rest. Okay. So, we’ll see. Like, one missed the game and one hasn’t. I’m I just I’m numb to this. It doesn’t like I They stunk on offense with Paris. They stunk on offense with Kelvin Beach. I don’t want to build in excuses based on injury. You know who can do that? The defense. And they they don’t do that. They’re like, “Oh, Will Johnson, Garrett Williams are gone. Whatever. We’ll we’ll give up 16 points and get a safety and have a should have been a game-winning interception.” Like, “Hey, guess what? It’s the NFL. figure it out. I I’m not I’m And they’re not making excuses. I’m not here to make excuses either. I’m going to come on the postgame show and rip their ass if they look awful offensively again. And I’m not going to be like, “Well, they lost because of I have too much respect for this audience of 400 people right now to say, “Well, Paris didn’t play.” It’s like, what? And we’ll see. I mean, I don’t know if they were being cautious and and this is just a roster move they they wanted him to make to make sure they they kept maybe there was a threat that he was going to be plucked from their practice squad just like Simmons was last week. Yeah. But uh you know hopefully maybe they bring him up as a six line. Yeah. Hopefully it’s a moot point and you know Paris is good to go come Sunday. Beaches can be you know back to a swing tackle spot. It’s Kyler Murray versus Sam Darnold in your building. Like be competitive, right? It’s like what we said Sunday. It’s like Kyler Murray can’t lose to M. Jones. Well, he lost to him now. He was let down by his pass catchers and his play caller, but that that all like are we going to go into this season it’s just like losing to M. Jones, losing to Sam Darnold, 0 and2 in the division, can’t score points. It’s just like people will check out of you fast. We we did, you know, it’s funny. We do so many shows. We did hundreds of shows this off seasonason and the constant theme was man, you guys are really positive. We are positive people and they and they had an off season to commend in terms of the defensive talent they brought in and I was not and this is I can say I’m wrong about this. I wasn’t of the mindset that they needed to go big offensively. Yeah. Because I wanted to equip and reward Nick Rollis and I was also the mindset I think Ammani Austin for was correct. Why does Drew Petsy need more receivers when he doesn’t throw to him? Yeah. Yonas was asking from Norway why Kyler Murray dinks and dunks. Is that a Ping thing? I mean, that’s what Kyler said. That’s that’s when they’re they’re playing that too high look. That’s what they’re going to go with. That’s that’s that’s a coaching point. So, it’s been a fun show. You guys crush it all day. The uh the MVPs of today’s show has been the chat. No doubt about it. Absolutely. Uh it’s been fun having Johnny in studio. We have lots of content coming from our time spent today at the facility. More Kyler clips, more uh Michael Wilson, we got Rabbit Taylor Dmerson breaking down his interception, all that. Of course, you want to subscribe to PHNX Sports here on YouTube. Uh like this video. We’re back at it tomorrow. One more day of practice. We’ll get some injury statuses for the game. So, we’ll find out. You know, it’s Paris Questionable as he ruled out. We’ll get all that tomorrow. WILL "THE TRILL" JOHNSON 0#! GO RED ♥️♥️♥️
It is a possibility Marvin Harrison jr. forces a trade. I would.
Gannon is coaching the offense how he DOESNT like to play against an offense. Not for the offense to be efficient
PETZING IS CAUSING UTTER DISASTER TO THIS ORGANIZATION LIKE HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE. TRAGIC!
WE MUST TAKE STAND. AND BE OUT WITH “PUT-ZING”
I will literally never get tired of you two strawmaning each others positions 😂 not a good faith argument in sight for two good friends lol
