Rays vs. Orioles Game Highlights (9/23/25) | MLB Highlights
Tough news here. The tarp is on the field. Tampa bringing the weather with them as this game between the Orioles and the Rays. MLB owners unanimously approved the race sale to Patrick Zeleki from Jacksonville and a group of investors. We’re a little late today, about an hour and 10 minutes. So, but we’re all clear now and ready for baseball. And hey for Dean Kramer if he can post one more good start today his 30th game 29th start of the year got a chance to finish with a winning record and he is eight and two/3 innings away from his careerhigh numbers since the 2023 season has had six starts against the Rays. He’s given a grand total of three earned runs including just two this year in three starts. He’s 2 and0 with a n5 erra. I think everyone wonders maybe this will be the time that the Rays could hit him cuz they really never have in the past. He’s been that good. 02 a popup near a shortstop. Backing up is Henderson on the outfield grass. Now walks back towards the diamond and makes the catch to open up the ball game. And now the reigning American League player of the week. And I was surprised to see that Yandi had never won one before. Even in the year where he won the batting title, he never won an AL player of the week, but he did this week and popped him up on a splitter just like Simpson. Kramer’s hoping to make a put out here. Jordan Westber says enough of that. down from third makes the play and Dana has two pop outs on the splitter. Well, Brandon is one hitter in this race lineup who has had success against Kramer. La with a soft ground ball to Gunnar Henderson. Nobody hits the ball close to hard and a one, two, three first for Dean. Holiday West Henderson coming up. Well, Ryan Pepio making his 31st start of the season looking for win number 12. Jackson Holiday Jackson is just one for his last 22. We did have a hit Sunday in the Orioles most recent game to snap an 0 for19. So Holiday gives the Orioles the leadoff man on base. Leadoff man on base for the Orioles. And that’s going to get Westber up right on right. Westber to third. That ball gets by Cabanero. A rocket that the Rays third baseman couldn’t collect. It’ll send Holiday to third. Jordan is into second. First extra base sixes return off the injury list and the Orioles are set up beautifully. The Orioles with a real threat working here in the bottom of the first. Premium spot for Gutter Henderson. But another hurting on Ryan Pepio. Put in the air high and deep left center field and caught right at the wall by Jake Mangum. Oh, so close to a home run. It is enough to bring in the first run. Henderson shakes his head, but he’s got an RBI. Westber’s down to third and it’s one- nothing. So runner third, one out for Tyler O’Neal. O’Neal ground ball down to shortstop. Carson Williams will go to first. Westber got a great jump and the Orioles have two productive outs for a two nothing lead. Kramer with a two nothing lead through two. Well, six up, six down for the Rays against Kramer. Popped him up left side of the diamond. Westber will glide to his right beyond the third base bag. A stride into foul territory now backpedaling into fair territory handling the popup for out number one. And he swings and misses. is a terrific cutter and Kramer has his first strike out. Boy, that’s a little cutter placed perfectly down the way. Sets it up with a fast ball. Watch where this ball starts and where it ends up. You can’t throw a cutter any better than that one right there. Oh, Kramer is one out away from a perfect first time through the order against Bob Seymour. Seymour little looper to second is speared by Holiday. One, two, three. Perfect work in the first time through the order turned in by Dean Kramer. Bottom of the third inning with the O’s on top. Two nothing. Broken bat pop up. Shallow into center field. In comes Simpson. He’s streaking forward. Out from second goes low and he can’t get it. Drops in for a base hit for Kobe Mayo. Bad luck for Pepio. Henderson nearly hit a home run his first time up off the fifth. Sinking line driving into center field. Down for a base hit. Rounding third coming down the line. Mayo will score. Simpson’s got no play. It’s an RBI base hit for Gunnar Henderson. He’s driven home two of the three tonight and the birds are on top three nothing here in the third and Pepio’s fired up. He he got the new baseball from the home plan Seaha charged to the mounds. Two is waved out and miss strike three. Down on strikes goes O’Neal on an excellent change for Ryan Pepe. And if that ends the season, it’s a pretty good way to finish. Royals have three runs. Rays have no base runners. Dean Kramer perfect through three. Misfires to start against Chandler Simpson. And no chance to get Simpson even if Henderson had fielded it. This is one of the fastest men in the big leagues and he’s the first raised base runner. Sounded like a broken record, Ben. Another out on the splitter. Broken bat. Fly ball out to right. Here comes O’Neal. He gets there in time to retire the side. That single does no damage. Runner left to third by Tampa Bay. Midway through the fourth inning. Dean Kramer trying to get through five shut out. Two and two for Fiducia. And another beautiful splitter to put him away. Second strikeout for Dean. And the location is absolutely perfect. There’s a perfect look at that splitter. And look where sets up. Cut and a miss. He got him on the split. That pitch was really working for Dean in this inning. Backto back strikeouts of Fiducia and Williams off the split. Pen is Ian Seymour after Kevin Kelly pitched a 1, two, three, fourth. Colton Cowser, the first guy he faces. New pitch. That’s a rip up the middle base hit for Colton Cowser. Orioles had the leadoff man on base. That number just went up. They’ll get through. It’s all going Kobe Mayo’s direction right now and the Orioles have two singles. 36 on the fielders choice. Cowser to third. Jackson over to first with one away. Right. Wesley’s got to find a way to get this run in with just one out. Runners on first and third. Fly ball into center field running on Simpson. He moves to his right, staggers back, makes the catch. Tag from Cowser at third base. Throw home on one bounce. It is late sacrifice fly for Jordan Westber to extend the Orioles lead to 4 nothing. Two base runners, Simpson single, Mangum on an E7. De Kramer’s last seven starts against the Rays, now 41 innings, three earned runs. Career against the Rays, he came in with a 183 erra. Let’s update that. It’s at 168. And another perfect frame turned in by Dean Kramer, who is working a gym tonight. Seymour holds him on. And now the batter is Colton Cowser. It’s four to nothing Baltimore. Sixth inning. 3-2 pitch. Hower clubs it straight away center field. Simpson back at the wall. Goodbye. Whoa, did he ever rock that baby. Cowser with his second hit off a very difficult lefty Ian Seymour. This one leads to a hug in the center field bleachers. 426 ft and went his 40th RBI of the year. And he’ll put the homer helmet on. The Rays can do nothing against Dean Kramer through six innings. They have done nothing against him for a couple of years now. And Dean’s facing the heart of the order for a third time. Oh, what do you know? A splitter. Well, haven’t seen that since every other inning. Four strikeouts for Dean. We’re getting to territory now where this might be when you talk about location and starting in the right place and just letting it work. It has been outstanding tonight. Dean was dealing tonight, a one hit shut out from Dean Kramer and Orio fans are going to send him off with a rousing ovation. Jose Castillo working in relief of Dean Kramer who was fabulous tonight. The Rays have first and third and two out of third. Hello Jordan Westber. That’ll do it for the seven. Amil Heraldo will look to send us home. Yeah, Heraldo making his 16th appearance. He’s worked 17 in a third with 16 strikeouts and opponents are hitting 231 off the righthander. Razer down 6 nothing to Baltimore. Breaks his bat. Ground ball left side. Westber in front of Henderson will retire for here’s Richie Palasios. Another nasty splitter. Kramer started the game with disgusting splitters and Aldo’s trying to finish it with one. And what is the first walk by Orioles pitching tonight comes with two outs in the top of the ninth. And here is Josh Low. Swing and a miss. Hey, struck him out. Bucket for the birds. It’s a six nothing shut out on this Tuesday night at Oriel Park. The Orioles get quite a start from Dean Kramer. Six and a third of shutout baseball. four strikeouts. He’s known for dominating Tampa Bay and tonight he does it again. [Music]

All we can do is look to 2026. Let’s go O’s!
Dean Kremer looking good tonight! 😊😊
2026 🙏
I'm very optimistic for 2026.
2026… I think we’ll surprise some people.
I ENJOY WATCHING THE ORIOLES PLAY BALL ! UNFORTUNATELY THEY JUST ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE AROUND 10 GAMES UNDER 500! BUT THE DID STILL HAVE A LOT OF EXCITING BASEBALL! THERE WAS SOME REAL HEARTBREAKERS AS WELL! LETS JUST HOPE A PRAY , GOD GIVES US TEAM THAT CAN DO BETTER IN THE STANDINGS ! THEY SURELY DO DESERVE IT !
It amazes me how with such a long season and so few days off and so many chances for bad weather throughout the spring, summer, and early fall that they manage to play every game.
Kremer with SICK stuff tonight.
The Rays never got a bead on those split finger fastballs.
Heh heh.
Let's sweep 'em and not end up in last lmao.
I still believe Adley is the key to us being successful. I think we really missed Anthony Santander's veteran presence this season.
Let’s Go O’s!
If Gunther doesn't win the Gold Glove, it will be a crime against humanity.
