Why Dallas Cowboys Fans Should STILL Be Excited About The Dallas Cowboys Defense!

Well, well, well. I have come to the conclusion that the national and the local media, they’re going to drag this thing with Michael Parsons until there is no meat left on the carcass. And they want it to be all doom and gloom and they’re going to talk about this at every loss and every win with Green Bay. They’re going to try to make us feel like that the worst thing that ever happened to us was Michael Parsons being traded to the Green Bay Packers. I’m here to tell you, I believe it is one of the best moves that Jerry Jones has done in years as being the GM of the Dallas Cowboys. And I’m going to tell you why right now why Dallas Cowboys ought to still be excited and even more excited about the defense we have right now. Let’s talk Cowboys. We’re about to talk facts. Welcome, welcome, welcome cowboy fans and cowboy haters alike. I’m the G and I’m the host of Let’s Talk Cowboys where we talk facts. And if you like this video, don’t forget at the end to please like, share, subscribe, hit that notification bell so you know the next time we post another video or go live. And if you haven’t become a channel member subscriber yet, please do. We have a lot of great things coming up this season. Now, let’s talk facts. Cowboy fans, we have a lot of reasons to be excited. And the reason why we should be excited is I believe our new coach, coaches, players, and mentality. And one of the things that Jerry and his front office has done under our noses is that they have continued to put talent on this team. And yes, we lost a talented player, but we gained a talented player that may not be as talented, but he makes the team better. And the reason why he makes the team better is because games are actually won on the interior of defensive lines. We’ve fallen in love with the pass rusher. We’ve fallen in love with the edge rusher. We’ve fallen in love with the sack because it’s almost like the defense is equivalent to a touchdown. We get excited when that edge rusher knocks the quarterback down, makes him fumble, maybe even make him throw an interception. We love to see it, but the reality is it’s not netting Super Bowls. Super Bowls are being won with the defensive tackles. Lines of scrimmage are being controlled by the defensive tackles or either the left and the right guards and the center on offense. The battle in the victories or in the trenches, but we fall in love with the sexy stuff and think that’s where the battles are won. No. No. The war is won in the trenches. The battle is won in the trenches. and the Cowboys have added to the trenches with Kenny Clark. But I want you to listen to the Dallas Cowboys players because I believe the Dallas Cowboys team, the team is excited even without Michael Parsons and they’re excited about what this defense is because even they know that the one thing that we just haven’t been able to do is stop the run, which has hurt us in playoff game after playoff game after playoff game. I want you to hear these players. I want you to hear Dak Prescott and I want you to hear these defensive players. Listen to how they’re talking as we get ready to go into the Philadelphia Eagle game. Check this out. Do you just We’re better or how do you how do you how do you look at it? I mean, we added a great player. Um obviously got some picks for the future. I’m not going to say we’re better. We’ve got to go out there and prove it. Um we’d have to prove it even if he was on this team. So So I’m not going to say that by any means. Um but but I know adding a guy like Kenny Clark, adding a true leader, a real man that’s um going to only elevate this team who’s been a Pro Bowl player um and and is excited about being here. I know our focus right now is Philly. I think that’s everybody’s focus in that locker room. I don’t think anybody’s hung up on that. As I said, there was enough news and enough media about it. I think as much as anything where it’s it’s good that a solution happened and obviously Micah got paid got paid very well and great for him and his family and um and we’ll see her see him here in about a month. So, I’m just honestly glad that uh I can’t say glad, but yeah, glad that we’re moved past that and everybody’s seems happy because of it. This team is relieved. A solution has happened and they’re happy with the player that they got because I’m telling you, they understand what this means. They still have edge rushers. It don’t mean that they’re going to get 12 sacks each, but the Cowboys had 52 and a half sacks last year and it it amounted to nothing. The teams that are winning Super Bowls are netting somewhere around 40 to 45. We don’t have to have 52 and 12 sacks. The biggest thing that we really need is to be able to stop the run in the trenches, push that pocket into the quarterback’s lap, and have a true leader on this defense. Leaders on this defense. The true leader of the defense is going to be Demar Overshon. But we have leaders on this defense. And I’m telling you that Osa Odigi Zua and Kenny Clark are going to be a problem. But I want you to continue to hear why you should be excited about this defense deal. Listen to these players and especially Kenny Clark. Let’s roll it. Kenny, obviously Michael Parsons is one of the, you know, premier players in this league. People know about him. You’re a three-time Pro Bowler as well. What can you tell people who are familiar with your game about quality of your game and what you have left in the tank? Uh, man, you guys just watch the film. I I don’t do too much talking. you watch the film. Uh my my game speak for itself. Was obviously shocked with Michael leaving. Um tough for a lot of them to take. What’s your message to the fans in terms of the commitment that you’ll bring? Uh man, like you getting a football player, you getting a dog and uh a guy that’s, you know, that’s that’s going to give everything. I love football. This what I this what I love to do. No nonsense. Um you know, I just want to play ball, man. This what I do. [Music] I want you to catch what he said. Check the tape. My place speak for itself. I’m a dog. No nonsense. I’m here to play football. That’s what you want. That is not only the kind of player that you want, but that’s what you want on that interior defensive line. The only thing that this team I’m telling you and this is one of the reasons why we ought to be excited about this team because we’re not going to hear anything now about this team other than football. We don’t have to worry about making excuses for what someone is doing on their off day or any other thing. No, this guy is saying I’m a football player. I’m not an entertainer. I’m a football player. I love it. Keep listening. I guess for life without him I guess from a scheming standpoint. Um I mean everybody was getting reps, you know, so like we’re we’re prepared without him as a passing, you know, a lot of sacks over the last four seasons. How much does that kind of motivate you guys as a pass rush to try and kind of replace I guess what Mike brought to you guys? um you know, same amount of opportunities that we’ve always had in terms of pass rush, especially the ones that we create by stopping the run. So, just all got to take advantage of the opportunities that we’re getting. [Music] That part right there also diggly acknowledging that Michael hasn’t hadn’t been practicing anyway. So, I saw I said this already. This team is already prepared. He hadn’t been playing. He hadn’t been practicing the whole, you know, training camp. But the part that I really want you to hone in on is he said, “Take advantage of opportunities created by stopping the run with Kenny Clark and also Odigi Zoa.” The expectation, and I believe that this is going to come to fruition. They’re going to be way, way, way better at stopping the run. And it’s going to create a situation that even if we don’t have the best pass rusher, we got good enough pass rushers in Dante Fowler, Donovan Ezaraku, Sam Williams, Marshon Neland, James Houston. We have good enough pass rushers that if we can clog up the middle and force those guys outside, we will still be able to get sacks. This is why we ought to be excited about the Cowboys. Still don’t believe me? Listen to this. And when people say that there may be more reps, more opportunities because he’s gone. Not that you weren’t going to get a chance to make the most of yours if he was here, but there may be more snaps for you. Well, I feel like if you watch practice and and stuff, I feel like the opportunity was going to be there anyways, even if he was here. More reps and opportunities because like every day in practice, there was no fall off. There was no fall off day. I went hard every day and I and I gained a coach’s trust, my players uh teammates trust. Um and like if you ask them like you you just ask them like they they’ll tell you that Sam brought it every day. And that’s that’s the main objective like to gain the trust of the people around so I can uh be in those situations with Michael, you know, but he’s gone now. So I feel like Yeah. Sam, it’s been roughly 18 minutes since you football snap against an opponent in the NFL. Just talk about how hungry you are to get out there and finish your damage. Um, I’m very hungry, but at the same time, I’m patient. You know, I I like, you know, we got what, two two, three more days to play. So, at the end of the day, I just got to, you know, keep trust the process, be where my feet at. And I don’t want to get too excited, you know, cuz that’s that’s when when Sam start making penalties and jump out. Yeah. All that stuff. I just I just want to be man I just want to be great man. Like I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than I have now. And I just want to you know just go out there and showcase all the hard work I put in that part. Now I want you to catch Sam Williams said two things that are very powerful. Sam Williams basically told Clarence Hill, “Bro, I was going to get mine whether he was here or not. It’s not predicated upon what he does on whether or not I get mine. Sam said I got mine because I’ve been putting in the work. Sam said I’ve been putting it on the field. Sam said I’ve been putting it on the table. Y’all hear what Sam saying? Sam said it wasn’t because of him that I’m getting reps and was going to get reps. I was going to get reps anyway. Tell him Sam. And then Sam comes back and says, “I’m hungry. I’m hungry. I’m telling y’all, these are grown men. They’re not sitting around sulking. They’re grown men. They got contracts they’re trying to get, too. They’re trying to get paid, too. They’re trying to feed their family, too. They love football, too. They want to win, too. Sam Williams said, “Man, this is a great opportunity.” And I believe Sam is going to rise to the occasion. You not excited yet? Listen to this. and also pass from a defensive standpoint. What’s the biggest key for you guys to walk out of there? Um, you know, it’s going to be a physical game. Uh, we got to be on our keys. Um, and we just got to be a mentally disciplined uh, physical team. And I feel like as long as we do that and we take it one play at a time, I think we’ll be just fine. You’ve had a double digit sack season, but these other guys like Sam, Marshan, and Donovan haven’t. What should people expect from them? I think they should expect like, you know, productive play from out of them. Um Sam, he was been sitting out for a year, so he’s fresh. He’s ready to go. Donovan been coming off a 15 16 sack season in college. And um it translated to the NFL very well. And Marawn, he got his feet wet very early with, you know, playing um as a rookie. And I feel like me and him was talking about that today. People don’t know how how big of an advantage that is to go out there as a rookie and be able to play in the trenches as a as a pro cuz that’s that’s something that’s very tough. So once you get that under your belt and you get your feet wet, you be ready to go. Donovan, he’s just naturally pass rusher. Like he can wake up out of bed and rush just like how James Houston can. So we have a we have like James, he had what eight sacks in seven games. So you know um I like that. I like the way he rushed. I I like I like our edge rushers and um you know uh the addition with Adub um coach Aaron our defensive line coach who did an amazing job when he was with the Jets and um you know he had a lot of great guys put out a lot of great film so I think with that combination the hunginess of the guys in the room we’ll be ready to go [Applause] now if that don’t have you excited it. I’ve been saying this. Cowboys got pass rushers. They got good enough pass rushers. Pass rushing has not been the Cowboys problem. The Cowboys got 52 and a half sacks last year. Do we not realize that someone else got the other 40 sacks? the Cowboys, even if they don’t get 52 sacks, 52 and a half sacks, if the Cowboys become better on the interior defensive line, which I believe they have exponentially become better on the interior with Osa Odigiza and Kenny Clark, there is no doubt in my mind the Cowboys are better on defense because if you can control the line of scrimmage, you can control the game and you will win not only games. We’ve won games, but defense travels well. This is how you win playoff games in the trenches. This is how you get to the Super Bowl in the trenches. I tell you what, y’all can be doom and gloom y’all want to. Y’all can keep on talking about Michael Parsons until the Cows come home. I’m done with it. this team is better and I am absolutely excited for us to go against Philly and I’m excited to see what this defense is going to show. Y’all tell me what you think in the comments. 1. You know what I sit at my job and I listen to all the haters say because the Cowboys lost Parsons they're going to be garbage now and I'm trying to figure out where they get that idea from because our past rushers are all good Parsons was good I'm not taking nothing away from him but he wasn't the only player on our team making plays let's go Cowboys let's shut them up

  2. I agreed with you brother! People are just slow man….GREAT TRADE! DONT FORGET SOLOMON THOMAS bruh! he is a beast …..Cowboys have talent bro….I AM EXCITED ….GO COWBOYS!

  3. You can't talk to these folks who know nothing about trench warfare. That is a vital part of winning and advancing further into the postseason. We haven't had that since this trade. Kenny Clark alone brings that. Now pairing him with OSA. You now possibly have one of the better interior defensive lines in football. Moving a grown a$$ man from A to B and winning is a helluva feeling. Go Cowboys!! #DC4LYFE!!!

  4. If you’re think the media loves the cowboys you’re out of yeah mind, not else cowboys can do that the media going to love, let’s go cowboys 24 – 14 cowboys won on Thursday 🎉🎉🎉

  5. Kenny Clark does not drastically improve this defense. They are Swiss cheese. Even with Parsons. They need to completely rebuild the entire unit. Philadelphia has the horses to put up 45 tomorrow night.

  6. These DEs need to set the edge in the run game. Micah wasn’t good at that. Why teams ran at him. Sacks come when you have 3rd and 6. Micah is a tremendous athlete. But you don’t sack QB’s when it’s 3rd and 4. That pass to the flat is that easy.

  7. Damn G seems like ur trying to get a job😂from Jerry Jones 😳 so ur going to make like the last 30 years doesn't mean shit the way ur hanging on Jerry Jones SMH well it's always one of us 🤯let's see what ur greatest GM do when free agencies come around they been needing to stop the run for 20 years
