Houston Astros vs Oakland Athletics 9/23/25 MLB Pick & Prediction | MLB Betting Tips

What is going on guys? Brad here from pickdos.com and I got a pick in this Astros first athletics game going down on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. You will find all my plays there. But let’s get right into this one, guys. We got the Houston Astros headed into Sacramento to play the Athletics. This is game one of this series. Both these teams do have Monday off. And this is kind of a tough game for me to handicap, you know, because on one side, I’ve been cashing in with the Orioles over the last month, month and a half. This has been one of my favorite teams to bet down the stretch. We’re getting a lot of great prices with them, and they’ve just been playing great ball. I feel like they’re a very young team. So, as the season has gone on, especially when it comes to their starting pitching rotation and some of these younger bats in the rotation in their in their lineup have just continuously got better and better and better, and that’s why they’ve been a really tough team to to face down the stretch. So, you know, I I see this line and I’m like, [ __ ] man. Should I just should I just keep riding with my athletics here? But at the same time, I mean, this game just means so much more to Houston. You know, the Athletics are knocked out of the playoffs. They have nothing to play for besides pride at this point, whereas the Astros are still just three games behind the Mariners. Like the Astros still have a chance to win the ALS, but they need to have a big series. So that’s kind of my thing where I’m going back and forth. It’s like, do I want to ride with this athletic scene that’s been such a money maker or do I want to ride with the Astros who where where this game is just so important to them? Um, when you look at the pitching match up, Jeffrey Springs is on the mound for the Athletics and Christian Javier is on the mound for the Astros. you know, Jeffree Springs, he’s great, but I I will say I do like Jeffree Springs a little bit better on the road. Um Jeffrey Springs at home, his erra is a a 5.0. Um on the road is erra’s a sub4. So a lot of I mean pretty much all of the athletic starting rotation is much better on the road than at home because how difficult it is to pitch in this ballpark at Sacramento. But I do want to bring that up. I like Jeffrey Springs, but at home he is sus susceptible to getting hit up. And Christian Javier, I mean, ever since returning back to action, he’s been all right. I mean, there’s nothing really to brag about. He has some good starts sprinkled in, but he has been giving up runs here and there. I mean, he has a 481 RA in his last five. Not incredible. I will say that the Athletics have beat the Astros in five straight games um the last five times these teams have played. And then they’ve also won every single one of those games by multiple runs. Um Oh, I forgot. You know, if you guys remember Nick Herz, his four home run game was against the Astros. Yes, it was that 15 and3 game. Um, sorry, I don’t know why that popped in my head, but guys, like I said, this one’s tough, but really it comes down what what it comes down to for me is this game means everything to the Astros. It’s a massive game. It’s a massive series. You’re going to give me an Astros team that, in my opinion, is still really talented at a dog price against the Athletics who have nothing to play for, I’m going to take it. I’m gonna take it. Does it scare me a little bit? Yes. And would I be surprised if the Athletics win this game and I’m sitting there with my Astros ticket thinking, “Damn it, why didn’t I just take the team that has been a gold mine as of late?” That could be the case as well. But I’m going to roll with the Astros on the money line. Um, I just I just can’t help it. I just can’t help it. I just can’t help it. But I I like I said, I just think the motivation factor is going to be on the Astros side. Um, also with the way the Athletics smoked them in Houston the last time these teams have played, I think this Astro team Astros team actually comes in a little bit pissed off wanting to prove a point. I don’t love Christian Javier. I I don’t I don’t um but I’m going to be on the Astros, guys. So, that’s going to do it. I appreciate you guys watching this, man. Drop a like.
