Guardians Lead AL Central Over Tigers for 1st Time Since April | MLB on TBS

of Detroit. It seemed untouchable and now just one game back. Scooble on the bump gets that strikeout swinging to end the inning. He would have eight Ks on the day. But we’re going to pick it up now. Top of the six. Two out. Riley Green with a two out home run. Ding dong Johnson. That was like just a line. You know, it wasn’t really a ding. It was a ding-dong jump. This play was wild. Scooble picks up the bunt, tries to snap it like a center in football. Monday Night Football is not tonight, though. No. Run, scores. Now, this play is graphic. Please turn away if you can’t handle it, cuz it is intense. Wow. David Fry squares up to Bunt Scubble. 99 mph. You can see he was clearly impacted by that. He would go to the hospital. Frywood for observation. He’s likely going to be held overnight. The play stopped for a long time. Making sure he’s okay. And this is like two pitches later. Another run. Scores were tied and it would keep coming. Scooble, another run there. Cleveland goes on to win this one 52. That hit by pitch clearly impacting the game. Here’s Scooble afterwards. Sixth inning. Um you you pretty much dominate them. big shock that they come out with that small ball attack on you in that inning. Did you watch the inning? I did watch the inning. Yeah, it’s kind of I mean a lot of balls are I mean two bunt singles, a swinging bunt. Um a lot of unfortunate things kind of happened there and then unlucky things happened there to to end up giving up three and and giving up the lead. All right, here is the postseason picture now. And then look at that on the left. Cleveland Guardians division leaders. That’s crazy. Houston for the first time since April. Houston’s on the outside looking in and suddenly Detroit is finding themselves in a wild card race. We did not see this. No, I thought that was going to be unthinkable. How do you process that inning by Scooble there, Pedro? Whether it was the the snap between the legs which led to a run, the hit by pitch, and then the wild pitch. What What happened there in that six? Well, obviously, uh, school, I guess, tried to do magic with the with the baseball down there. It would have looked pretty if you It would have looked great, but it was unnecessary. Unfortunately, uh, you have to, you know, play baseball fundamentally right if you can do it or whether you don’t get it done, just do it the right way. But uh after the hit by pitch, obviously a good man like Tariq Scubo is bothered by by what he saw. And uh you could see that when Fry was leaving actually gave him a little sign like I’m okay. But uh it seemed to bother him and even after when he was talking I could sense that he was kind of concerned about it. But if there is something I must say to Tariq scuba, you didn’t mean to do that. So don’t hang your head on it. I’m sorry for, you know, the next athlete that got hit, got hurt, but things happen in baseball. So please don’t hang your head and don’t quit pitching inside either because he’s going to need it for the rest of his career. And everybody knows that nobody wants to hurt anybody that way. So Fry get better and Scooball keep your head up. But now just looking forward here. Detroit threw out school and you lose that game and now you got two more games against the Guardians. We see that there. Guardians will then face three against the Rangers. Tigers has three at Boston. They lose the scoo. Now what? They lose the scoo. And then you saw the Cleveland Guardian fans slowly coming in. Now they got optimism. Now they’re excited. The good thing is the same energy is going to be there tomorrow and you’re still in a good spot. You win tomorrow, now you’re back on top. You’ve just flipped it. So unfortunately, you’ve given it up. Yeah. It’s now 000. Forget everything that’s happened right now. Win and win out, you still control your own destiny. But you have to take care of tomorrow. Even though school’s done tomorrow, it’s 000. Cleveland’s going to have the same side of things going. Plus, their fans are going to come there. Steven vote, their manager, asked the fans to come out. They came and they’re going to come in even a larger grow tomorrow. Make a prediction for me, Jimmy. Who wins this division? The wacky Central. Oh, wow. The Central. It is. And I am going to go with the Cleveland Guardians. They’re they’re they’re riding the momentum. They they’ve been chasing this team down. And we’ve always said that the team that was fighting for their life is always going to be the most dangerous team. They they’ve had on their battle gear for the last month. They’ve seen this lead and it was kind of like you guys in 04 like let us win one. Just let us get there. We’re there. We’re facing them. They’re controlling their own destiny. The team that was in front of them, they’re playing straight up. Yes. We can take control of this division this series. It was going back to 07 when we played you guys. Uh at our place, we have four games. We’re like, we won’t win the division with these four games, but it would definitely put us in position and things have to go right. They have a better situation. They’re playing the team that was ahead of ahead of them. Now they have a chance to make some distance between them and a team that’s behind them. I’m not ready to give up on the on the Detroit Tigers because they they have been faced with adversity the entire season and they were able to survive that. They have a really good manager in them. They have a a whole bunch of young players that are really hungry. Uh, I think if there is something for this team to show, they need to show it in the next two games. And also, but Cleveland’s face adversity, too. They came out and lost their closer in the middle of the season. That just kind of throws everything in a right. It’s like, what are we doing? You know, your focus kind of goes to that. They have the right ingredient. They have the right ingredient, which is momentum to their side. But I think as watching Cle uh watching Detroit play all year and going through everybody in the league uh kind of leaves me with the sense that if they are able to just pick up one more game, they’re going to be okay. 16 of 18 Cleveland has won, which is talk about a hot baseball club. Only one thing left to do. Talk about great movies. Major League Win the whole damn thing.
