This has made the rounds today through the basketball web but it does, on a more serious note, touch upon something I've talked about on here—Kevon Looney is one of the best screen setters in the league. One of the very best in screen assists. On and off ball. A fantastic DHO option. He's not a great finisher but he gets to the foul line and makes intelligent cuts to the basket and is a secure, sharp passer.
He's also very good at carving out space for drivers downhill and screening off big men from contesting shots from teammates. He is one of the better big man space creators around. He makes teammates better without ever having his number called offensively. Loon's addition is going to be better than it's gotten credit for elsewhere….it's generally been panned, but I think that's a reflection of people's lack of respect of Looney and his game and a lack of understanding of the value he will provide for the Pelicans this season.

Guess I’m supporting Pelicans this season when they not playing against the Warriors. Going to miss Tune’s intelligence and defence. Looking forward to seeing him team up with Poole again.
Looney screens hard and i hope he teaches the young guys how to do that
Looney reminds me of Steven Adams
He’s exactly the player we need. Terrific screener, terrific rebounder, excellent teammate
i just hope refs don’t start calling his moving screens now that he is out of GS
