This isn’t what I meant when I wished for the best offensive line in the division.

  1. I really think some of these bad rankings are attributed to the reduced preseason and teams opting to not play their starters. The first month is even more jacked up with not knowing who is truly good or that bad

  2. As frustrating as this is for Steelers fans imagine Bengals and Ravens fans.
They have two of the best qb’s in the NFL and can’t protect them. Burrow for sure deserves better.

  3. We, rightfully so, have been complaining about the OL for years. But can we at least appreciate the fact that, despite going through multiple QBs, unlike us the stripy Browns over in Cincy have a franchise QB and STILL don’t protect their guy?!

  4. Honestly I believe things would instantly improve if we got away from being so zone heavy, it relies too much on technique and what meyer is teaching clearly isn’t working.

If you noticed the Lions the other night most of the time they were just double teaming guys and moving them out the way even when the defense knew what was coming. Whereas in a zone scheme most of the time players are moving horizontally at the snap instead of forwards.

  5. Monkeys Paw curled

It would be so funny if we had the best OL in the division while being 4th worst in the league

  6. The only thing this tells me is that we will get approximately zero sacks combined in those 6 games.

  7. Honestly, I don’t think the Ravens’ offensive line is as bad as this chart makes them look. I saw some outlet say they allowed 30 pressures against the Lions, but rewatching every single Ravens offensive snap and being very generous with what I counted as a pressure, I counted 15 (obviously still not good). Only maybe 5 of those would I say were “quick pressures,” one of which was a TE one on one versus an edge rusher. I honestly think this narrative is the media continuing to mythologize Lamar (don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a top 2 QB) by downplaying his supporting cast.

  8. I appreciate the guy who made the chart averaging together the various OL raters, because otherwise I’m not sure how to interpret “Dallas is either absolute dog shit or one of the best in the league” lol. Probably somewhere in the middle!

Edit: same with Baltimore now that I look closer, either absolute 0 or else a top 8 unit who can say

  9. My son is a Bengals fan and we were talking about this the other night.

Both of us think Pit is going to win the division at 9-8 and then proceed to get wiped out in the Wild Card round…probably by whoever finishes second in the West.

  10. I think that week 3 probably put us a lot higher than we were after Week 2.
I will say I’m curious where we land on this by Week 9-10. Brod was not a problem in Week 3, our guards were with the run game.

    Baby steps.
