For me, he's definitely in the rotation, but I'm thinking he gets somewhere around 15-17 minutes per game. It might be less depending on how well Nance plays. What about you guys though?

single digit minutes per game
play backup C against teams with legit centers (Pistons, OKC, Grizz, Nets, Heat..etc), allowing Mobley to focus on being a PF till winning time when he slides to small ball center
Provide spacing on offense (half his shots last year were 3’s), protect the rim on defense, foul the shit of anyone who penetrates from the wing
I’ve been begging for a decent backup center here for 3 seasons. I think he’s gonna be a great fit
Third stringer who gets 10-20 CDNP, likely averages around 12-15 mpg.
Backup big/stretch 5. <15 mpg. Play fast and run the floor. Give us an extra jolt of energy off the bench and a little inside toughness in the playoffs if the matchups don’t tilt in Allen’s favor. 6 extra fouls to give in a Hack-a-Mitch strategy.
The exact same role he played with the Pacers, 15 minutes a game.
He hustles hard and can shoot a bit. Not a great defender/athlete but useful as a back up C to reduce JA/Ev minutes. Particularly against bigger centers
Pretty sure he’s going to be getting the minutes people on this sub thought Tomlin was going to be getting. Could be wrong though
Unless Mobley or Allen miss extended time probably ~10-12mpg while not playing at all in a good portion of games.
Mobley/Allen are going to soak up ~60mpg, and against most teams I’d expect Wade, Hunter, & Nance all likely to play the 4 beside one of them more than being paired with Bryant.
1st big off the bench
He will be valuable and play meaningful minutes during the 82 game season when guys are resting. He can shoot some 3’s. Playoffs he likely will not have much of a role but he offers the Cavs some versatility with lineups. He is better than what we have had in previous years as a backup big.
He’ll occasionally play when the Cavs play a team with size off the bench, or when there’s something limiting Allen/Mobley’s minutes. He should be more playable than TT was in that role.
To give breathers to both Mobley and Allen during games. Dude can block shots, pass the ball, rebound, and be a presence underneath while one of the two starters gets rest.
Bryant can hopefully be a reliable option in the playoffs when we’re dealing with size and physicality from opposing bigs, which has routinely been a problem for the Cavs in this era (Jarrett Allen in particular). He can stretch the floor well enough to demand some attention and he’s a sturdy enough post defender where teams won’t just be able to impose their will on him.
Not a huge signing by itself, but he’s more quality big man depth, a luxury the Cavs haven’t had in a VERY long time.
The main 10 man rotation (Don, Darius, Max, Evan, Jarrett, Lonzo, Sam, Dean, De’Andre, Larry) seems mostly set, Bryant probably only plays in garbage time or when one of Larry/Evan/Jarrett are out. Larry probably won’t play back 2 backs, so that should give him a chance for some minutes.
If everyone is healthy 8-12 minutes at backup center. His shooting allows Mobley to play the 4 while Allen is out. Mobley plays more 4, Hunter plays more 3.
Some games we will go small and Mobley will play more backup depending on the matchup.
Put the ball in the basket + preventing the other team from putting the ball in the basket
When Jarrett Allen has his zero energy game one out of every three games, Bryant should immediately be subbed in or we go small. Im tired of watching Allen get manhandled because he lacks conditioning.
Im suprised how many people in here think hes going to play every night.
He will be in the TT role. Only playing with injury
Ima going to keep it simple: backup.
Let Jarret Allen catch his breath.

Cracking skulls and making threes
IM THE CASUAL? 😂😂 ur an idiot. I’m not even hard stuck on the 15mpg part of it. I just think you’re dumb for not thinking he will play at all. You think theyre gonna run mobley and allen into the ground this year for what? Look at what happened when we got to the playoffs last year and they werent even playing heavy minutes in the regular season. Kenny is gonna keep legs fresh. Thomas Bryant is a good backup. He isnt a bum. He’s physical and can shoot from 3. If you dont think he plays around 10 mpg with some cdnp’s spread here and there then you dont know ball. And I love nance but he isnt a 5. He can play small ball 5 but they arent the same player. It will be situational
If we’re switching rotation philosophy and going to 2 bigs all the time he’s going to be getting maybe 15 a game, but if he’s the 4th big and we’re playing Mobley at the 5 then he’s playing when someone’s injured. He’s good enough though and we’re injured enough that I think he does get regular minutes early and we play relatively big till max and DG are up and running
Pardon my ignorance, but can someone enlighten me…
I was under the impression we were trying to beef up our defense, but I’ve seen several comments [on the NBA sub] saying Bryant was a “terrible defender.” TT was bad offensively, but provided some value defensively, especially with rebounds.
Not saying I’m against signing Bryant, but if the comments were true about his defending then I’m just a bit confused.
