just uh what’s the feel first day of camp? Just some of the new faces figuring things out. Uh a lot of spacing, a lot of speed, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. The approach and attention to detail that was shown today by everybody. Absolutely. Uh the focus was there. Um and even with that high level of focus, uh everybody was still having fun. What do you think about Jordan P just came your first day on the court with him? Good dude. Uh great player, very vocal on the court and you know he’s going to provide a lot of spacing for me on the court. How does this first day compared to you know the last couple first days of training camp uh for the team when it comes like the vibes? Uh you know it’s different for me especially stepping into a leadership position. Uh like I said you know the focus was there everybody was locked in. practice was great, uh, especially for the first one. And, you know, everybody had fun. You know, that’s all you can hope for out of the first practice. And coach talked about you speaking to the group. How much was that kind of a goal for you this season, wanting to just be more vocal with the team? Um, honestly, I didn’t I didn’t view it as a goal. It was more so, like I said, the press conference, you know, if I want those responsibilities, that’s what come with it. So, you know, it was just it was more natural to me. Uh, cuz, you know, my teammates are looking for me to do that. So, it was it was natural. What was kind of your message to the team? I’ll let them tell y’all that. Uh was short. Just it was it was short, sweet. Just let’s have fun. Let’s put this work in. Let’s see how far we can go. What was it like having uh Herb and Trey back out there? It was great. It was great seeing those two out there. Uh man, you almost forget that how we ended last season. A lot of guys were out and stuff like that that stepping on the court with them again was definitely a breath of fresh air. And the guys mentioned uh pool being very talkative during his first day as well. How much did that stand out to you? Uh I wasn’t shocked. Uh and I say that from a basketball perspective. Uh you know, even when I competed against him when he was on other teams, you know, he was very vocal. So, you know, for him to bring that championship experience here, uh like I said, uh I’m glad to have him here. Did you follow any of the stuff? I mean, it seems like he got barded with it on social media about how good you looked, how happy you were, the excitement. And I saw where even like the MVP odds swung significantly because of your look and mood yesterday. Or is that just kind of outside noise? Outside noise. Like I said, the press conference, none of that stuff means nothing to me. Whoever was here when we were working and people doubted us. That’s who I want to celebrate with when that time comes. See, obviously establishing chemistry is going to be the biggest thing, right? All these new faces. But Jordan P says something about how it felt all natural the way guys react to each other. Do you think it’s going to be kind of easier because you guys do get along? You kind all on the same page? Uh, I can agree with that. I think the only time we really messed up was because we were probably trying to be over passive. Uh, but no, I think he’s hit the nail on the head with that. Uh, it’s natural. Like the spacing is there. Guys want to share the ball and, you know, we’re going to get out in transition a lot. You were talking about the spacing, how fun today was. Sounds like it was really good vibes for you and this team. How nice is it to start out training camp on such a high note after, you know, all the bad luck last year with injuries and just, you know, that how that season went? Like I said, it’s definitely a breath of fresh air and, you know, to have a first day like that, that’s all you can ask for. What have you seen from the the growth of Trey Murphy like on the court last year as a leader this year? His game has definitely grown. Um, him as a leader, he’s grown. Um, and like I said, the press conference, he’s he’s ready to take that next step. What are you saying from uh fears as he’s kind of finding his way as a young rookie? Uh he’s definitely going to find his way. I think he kind of took the approach that you know most rookies including myself took just kind of observe pick and choose when you going to make your move. But I know in that time come for him to show what he can do. He going he’s going to do it. So how much are you looking forward to October 22nd for the season over? Uh we got to go to Australia, man. Can’t skip over that. But, uh, no, I’m definitely looking forward to it, man.
