Salvy Makes History | The Royals Come Out Swinging In Series-Opening Win
Sam Aldi is on the mound for the Angels here tonight against the Royals and we talked about how well he’s thrown over his last 10 minor league stars, er, a 254 , so many different things at the plate, he can drive the ball deep into the gaps like this right here and he’ll take an aggressive turn and run on Ward and there you go, leadoff double. That’s what he does. You want that in the middle of your lineup? Sure. Knock in some runs you want at the top of the lineup, of course , set the table for the guys behind him and he goes the other way against the lefty that will get Garcia to third as Adele comes up throwing and the Royals have runners at 1st and 3rd and nobody out. Vinny’s 107 RBS and he has a runner at third with nobody out and there’s a wild pitch and the Royals lead one nothing. And you could see junior at the top of the screen, he went ripping around second base and was for a moment thinking about going first to third strikes out swing of the miss on a fastball away the better Italian in that at bat Salvi 96 driven in. So he is pursuing both 100 RBS and 1013 for his career and he’s going to line that one to center field and it’s down for a hit. Junior had to make sure it wasn’t going to be caught. And here he comes and the ball is cut off and Salvador Perez with 1013 career RBS is second all by himself in Royals history. Moving up the list and only Mr Royal George brett is ahead of Salvi now. 113 RBS. It’s a changeup up in the zone two up for Aldi trying to get that ball down. That was Salvi’s ball for the 1013 RB I that was taken to the authenticator Cole Reagans and this is his second start since early June. Very lovely moment for mike Trout here as this audience at Angel Stadium gets to celebrate with Mike for the first time, his 4/100 career homer on the road in Colorado, his first at bat back here at Angel Stadium since Then and he strikes out Trout on three pitches. This looks a lot like his first inning on Wednesday against Seattle and the strikeout. We’ve seen two of them, 171 strikeouts make it 72. That’s three strikeouts in the first inning and back to back starts for Cole Reagan’s Cole Reagan’s two starts two first innings, six batters faced six strikeouts swing and a miss strikeout and a 95 1 fastball by Reagans. Ras has struck out four of five , five of six. That time. It’s a change up, up and away. It wouldn’t surprise me to see that continue to happen. The old swing and a miss on a good changeup out of Cole Reagan’s and he is rolling here in the first two innings. Frazier was off balance but he pulls it through the hole. So he grounded out to that side. First time up. This time he gets it through Moore and Sean Owe Carter Tensen fouled out to third in the second inning bouncing ball to second Moore will go to second base and somehow Guzmán was able to pick that out. What a play by DenzerGuzmán. Guzmán. He was a first baseman there almost. This was an incredible scoop out of the dirt and that’s a tough haul. The pitch is grounded to short, looks like two flip to second relay to first and it is a double play for the L some good defense here in the fourth inning. Logano will be the next batter. He was a strikeout victim. His first time up hit the bag. Garcia got a glove on it and a long hop to Vinny there he is folks likely your gold glove, third baseman in the A L hard hit ground ball that has a little bit of hook on it because of its right hand batter hitting the bag and a defender going into a slide and still able to make the play. I believe that’s a first baseball’s answer to the tip drill. Guzmán got a glove on it but it’s out into center field and Miquel going to dig for second and he’s going to hustle in with his second double tonight right there. That play was made right there by garcia makes an incredible play but does not just rest on his low line drive. Look how quickly he’s out of the box. He’s thinking too if he gets by him gets Mike to third with one out and this is even with all of his RBIs, this is an area where Vinny has scuffled this year. That’s fair and Vinny gets Garcia home and now he’ll make the turn and jogging to second base with a double and his 108 RB. I just keeps on climbing 52 RB. I now, since the all star break , he leads the American League in that department right there. Hard hit. We’ve seen a lot more of this in the second half from Vinny Paul Reagan. Seven strikeouts against the first eight hitters. The hand that is, is good. Another one right there climbs the ladder 95 nine strikeouts for Reagan and he gets Guzmán with a fastball, the batter, he popped out to the catcher Salvi Perez, his first time up driving one to left field, it’s back and it’s gone. Bryce T AIO has his first major league home run and it was a bomb off. Paul Reagan’s as we celebrate Mike Trout’s 4/100 home run here at the ballpark today. Let’s celebrate Fo’s first career blast. Wow. Did that go a long way? It was 100 and seven off the bat. 394. Get yourself a ball game. Now, the next one on Trout, he’s going to take that one and he’s called out on that one and that is how the inning will likely it for Reagan’s same as last inning. The first two hitters strike out the next two hitters reach and it’s 1st and 3rd with two down picturing in my mind, adam Frazier with a three quarter swing, feathering a ball into left field. He’s going to get a full swing and hit it to the no feathers right there. That is an absolute bullet and he’s going to try to go three. And what he did was force a cut off which allowed to score from first base. The Royals have runners on the corners with nobody out. Garcia has been busy tonight, two doubles, two runs scored and a walk in this game that will get through and the Royals have a four run lead and Michael Garcia has a three hit night and he’s been on base four times. Well, he’s shown the ability to hit the ball to all fields tonight and now Bobby hits a smash up the left field line and there is speed on the bases and Bobby Witt Junior will stop at second base. The Royals get two more as Rave and Garcia score and the Royals have three in the eighth inning. Well, you call a Rhino line smashed by Bobby Witt Junior and as I watch those runners around the bases, it almost looks like an Olympic relay team. Sam Long is the new pitcher for the Royals here, but we’ll see carlos Estévez at a point. Former Angel. Here’s the next delivery. This is hit well out into right center field, it’s out by the wall and that ball is out of here. Taylor Ward starts things off goes the opposite way to right center home run number 35 of the season for Ward Angels get a little bit closer and now it’s 8 to 3. Kansas City Adell gets to third base, but now the Angels are down to their final out in this ballgame. Christian Moore could help out a base hit and a run scored earlier that is a swing and a miss and ball gets away. So joe Adell comes home to make it eight to four and grounded out to Frazier and the Royals take game one and move to one game above 500 with Michael Garcia leading the way tonight with three hits, three runs scored and an RB I
Salvador Perez collects his 1,013 career RBI, and Cole Ragans strikes out 10 to set up a Royals win.

Bobby, Garcia, and Vinnie should all have Gold Gloves.
Also – next year is looking bright… if Jensen and Caglianone hit how we know they can, then we have a dangerous lineup. We already have a solid 4 in Bobby, Vinnie, Garcia, and Perez.. add Jensen and Caglianone, bring back Frazier Yaz and Isbel, then all we need is a couple of good righties to go with our healthy starters + Kolek and Bergert to maybe reinforce the bullpen… and we are SET to be a contender. The world is yours, Royals – make the right moves this off-season.
I agree. They are in pretty good shape. Definitely would like Frazier back and maybe get an outfielder. Tolbert needs to be the off the bench base stealer.

Anyone else notice ever since they were knocked out mathematically, they are suddenly trying to keep the line moving like in 14 and 15 and destroying teams? Someone from the organization needs to point this out to them for next year. STOP going for the long ball! START keeping the line moving again!
