Three Things: Streak in Dallas, Jenkins vs. Clark, and self-redemption

Hey everybody, it’s three guys with three things and Mike, you are up. Well, Larry, as we all know, a little less than 15 calendar years ago, the Packers started a rather amazing streak in that stadium that is known as Jerry’s World down there in Dallas. And a few interesting nuggets about this six-game winning streak the Packers have in that building. They have averaged 36 and a half points per game. Three different starting quarterbacks have won games there. Three different defenders have pick sixes in that building. Now, is any of that going to matter on Sunday night? No. But what will matter is for a young team like the Packers have, a bunch of those guys were part of that big playoff win two Januaries ago and they’re at least going to be able to walk into that building and remember that success and psychologically maybe that gives you a little bit of an edge. All right, Weston. For the past seven years on the Green Bay Packers practice field, specifically Nichki field, we got to watch Elton Jenkins and Kenny Clark go at it in padded practices in every type of scenario you could ever imagine. And on Sunday, if Kenny’s ankle is okay, we’re finally going to see that matchup under the bright lights of an NFL game. The cool thing about this is I don’t think there’s any animosity there. It’s business. Everybody gets that. But what Kenny brought to this locker room and seeing these young guys now, whether it’s the Kobe Woodens, the Carl Brooks, even a guy like Nazir Stackos who only played with him for a few months, seeing the kind of impact he left on them and now having a chance to go up against one of the Packers best offensive linemen is going to be one of the really fun storylines to watch on Sunday. Thank you, gentlemen. I know many of you are contemplating how the Packers will respond to their loss in Cleveland. and speaking from the perspective of a person who’s lost more games than I care to remember, who played poorly more games than I care to remember. Selfredemption is a powerful motivator, perhaps the most powerful motivator. Keep that in mind as we get ready for Sunday’s game in Dallas. And that’s three guys with three things. See you next time.

Larry, Mike, and Wes look ahead to the upcoming game against the Cowboys.

  1. I grew up watching the Packers and Larry McCarren play and I don't think I ever saw him play poorly, no matter how humble he acts! He was easily one of the best Packers on those teams.
