NFL Network’s Kurt Warner: Eagles’ Offense Is Boring & They Couldn’t Care Less | The Rich Eisen Show

Let’s talk about the Eagles offense. A lot of conversation about it being simple or overly simple or boom or bust, right? Where uh Herz just finally uh started winging it around. I mean, I don’t know if they took the governor off of anything. I I have no idea. Kurt, you you’re seeing it. Your your opinion of the Eagles offense and uh and and it’s um its effectiveness moving forward is what? Yeah. And we do talk about it being simple and the concepts that they run in their pass game are fairly simple. But if you know if you had to take any coach in the world and say, “Okay, how would you want to play football? Okay, here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to run the football.” And when a defense decides that they have to put extra guys in the box to stop us, then we get one-on-one on the outside, then we’ll throw the football. And we don’t have to get complicated. We don’t have to fool anybody with our scheme and be all fancy and be one of these gurus. I got AJ Brown out there one-on-one. So, if you want to stop Saquon and add an extra guy, I’m just going to run a simple concept over here to this guy and I’m gonna throw it to him one-on-one. Oh, and then you’re going to drop into coverage. Okay, now we’ll go back to running the football and doing what we do. And then when you want to change it up again, hey, we got Devonte Smith over there. You go one-on-one. We’ll throw it to him. And so, I understand, you know, I’m a quarterback. I love the X’s and O’s. I love designing plays and the new thing. But I think if any coach out there um you know could say this is how we want to play, it’s like the Eagles play. Run the football, do what you do best. You know, work to your strengths the offensive line and then once a team changes it up. Know that you’ve got guys on the outside and you can keep it simple. You don’t have to over complicate it and make it too hard for your team. This is a simple game. Our guy’s better than your guy. Play pitch and catch. Let him make a play and we’ll go. Oh, our guys are up front or better than your guys. You want to leave extra guys out there. We’ll just block a hat on a hat and we’ll beat you that way. And so, I understand it. I understand why it’s boring and it’s simple. But it’s because they’re built in a way that they don’t have to over complicate it. And too many teams over complicate it, I think, at times. Um, and it and it’s more of a negative than it is a positive. And I think Billy has just said, we are fine being boring. we are fine just doing these things that we’re really really good at and forcing a team to show us they can stop us doing those things before we’re going to create you know reinvent the wheel and try to do something that uh that may over complicate or may make it a little bit more difficult for us at 60 Hey you made it all the way to the end thanks for that check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern

  1. New Offensive Coordinator is the real factor. Eagles fans remember going through this after we got to the last Super Bowl and the Colts took our Offensive Coordinator

  2. Did none of yall watch the video? He used it as a way to compliment us, then they used it as clickbait so you all would click on it, pause it, and comment without even watching it. This is the internet, believe none of what you read and half of what you hear.

  3. Why is everyone talking like this current eagles offense is just going to be it for the next 13 weeks? They are clearly still looking for their identity and you could argue they may be playing too conservative but the beginning of the season is all about stacking wins even if the games are messy. Form is only important when you get closer to playoffs. Go birds B2B incoming

  4. This is the dumbest topic in sports🤦🏾‍♂️ they literally just won the Super Bowl and are undefeated this season and people complaining about how it looks if you don’t like it don’t watch it. They still are winning.🤷🏾‍♂️😂
