HIGHLIGHTS | Canucks vs. Kraken 09.24.25

off the forch and now here come the Canucks to center chance for a two-on-one down the left wing. Quick shot by Baines. The rebound to the left circle was out of the reach of Lenus Carlson as the Canucks cleared to the line but not out. It’s held in right point by Jeremy Porier with a long shot tipped on. Great save by Demco and he made another stop on the rebound as well. Thatcher Demco instantly his his first shot coming in at him gets tipped from the point off Aari and he has to make a quick athletic save to his blocker side goes left circle for Heel right side Ver shot hit the go post they score keeps the play alive off of the Henley clear clearing attempt that doesn’t get out but then quick puck movements really sets this up it goes from Kudriatzv at the up to Heedle on the left side who fakes the shot, rips it through to Vlander who puts it off the near side post and Hoglander’s able to be hard on his stick and Archie Beans gets it top of the circle back to the line for Mancini. Beautiful tow drag down the wing. Manini third the crease and Carlson missed a tapin chance to the back door. What a play by Victor Mancini to create that chance. Now another wristster from the line is blocked in front by Jake Bean. He takes a hit from Lena Carlson and can’t clear the zone. Arste Baines holds in left corner for Carlson in front. They score [Applause] by the Canucks staying on top of Calgary as Calgary is trying to break out. They seal the boards able to keep it in. Carlson ends up behind and what he’s done so well in this building in Abbottzford before and he’s trying to show he can do it at the next level. He has his head up. He sees Mancini all alone streaking down the back. Now back to Chase Stillman covering up the point. to Marcus Patterson for Vander left circle. Quick shot right on and Prospatov made the save. Another centering feed out of the left corner by Marcus Person. Doesn’t find the intended target. Anneil Oman sweeps it to the right wing. Dried and Hunt. Dug it free for Basher. Now it ends up high slot. Mirror Manov tried a shot that was blocked. Rebound. What a save by Demco. Quick reaction save. Something we’re so used to and honestly take for granted when you see Demco in net. This game seems like it’s just a preeason game for him. But at the same time, you know how much thought he’s put into this. It’s been a long year last season. And the Flames clear to center. Marcus Person in his own zone. Makes a nice quick pass ahead for Max Sassin. Sassin right wing. Drops to Carlson to Bates to Sassin. What a chance. And an even better save by Prospatov. Pretty passing play in across the Calgary line. Back to Kudri Abset. Left circle. Heat over to the side. He scores. [Music] Great job of using the bumper from the right side to relieve pressure. Ratu up to Kudriatv who throws it across. Heedle with the lefty holding holding and waiting asen does a great job taking away the goalender’s eyes but he’s got to wait for the screen to move past and Hedo’s able to fire it far side to take the three nothing lead on the power play. 704 left in the second. Chase Stillman hassling and harrying him deep in the zone. Now the Conucks come up with the puck. It’s set in front. Here’s a chance for Neil Zan deep to the forehand. Stopped by Proattop. Rebound loose in the crease. Where’s the puck? They can’t tuck it home. I don’t know how they didn’t score. Now Mancini rips a shot wide of the net right at the buzzer. Out of the right side for Sunnia. There’s a pass to the back door. Dryen Hunt. Did that stay out? It looked like it was in to me. It sure looked like it from here. But there’s a big round of applause for Nikita Toapilo. We’ll need a replay on that one. I thought that was in from my vantage point. A one-time for Dryen Hunt from the right circle. And Nikita Toapilo got it. It was behind him at one point, but that’s a nice save from the young net minder. Oh, he reaches behind himself with his glove and is able to keep it from bouncing over the line. Oh, gets it with the paddle. Lenus Carlson along the goal line. Pass couldn’t get through. 5 seconds left now. Vander knocks down Farabby on the near boards and that’ll do it. [Music] The Conucks get their first win of the preseason thanks to a pair of power play goals from Neil’s Hoglander and Philip Heedle. Victor Mancini scored even strength tonight as well.

  1. foote is trash why he playing MacEachern on top line with chytil. He has 5 grade A chances and whiffed on them all like the journeymen ahl'r he is. while u could have given kratsov a chance to see what he got and let him play wth cyhtil who he played with in new york and thus he would have been more comfortable to showcase his skills.

  2. There were maybe a dozen guaranteed NHLers on the ice, and that's both teams combined. So, you can't really use this to judge how the Canucks' season will go. That said, it was great to see the team playing this good this early in the preseason. The Canucks clearly have a lot of prospects that are, at worst, injury call-ups right now. Not all of them are going to make the NHL, but many of them could be used as assets in trades, if the Canucks don't think they have a path forward with the team.

  3. Sorry, but some people actually can tell a Calgary Flames logo from a Seattle Kraken logo. For one thing, Calgary starts with C. Seattle starts with S. I suggest you revisit elementary school.
