NHL Preseason Highlights | Kings vs. Ducks – September 24, 2025

that coach player trust, right? Yep. And there’s that respect. We’ve talked about that before. You’ve got a head coach now with three Stanley Cups under his belt, great assistance, and uh it’s just a positive vibe, folks. And we’ve talked about it already. And uh it’s really been fun, I have to tell you folks, even during practice and uh time away from a regular season game, but we have a good group of young defensemen here. And it’s only going to get better and better. Here is Anaheim going after the puck. Chris Krider, the former New York Ranger is out there. Big addition during the off season. The veteran forward. He’ll be helping especially a lot of the young kids that are here in the lineup. Might have had an opportunity to see some time at this level. Didn’t quite work out that way, but you know what? It could this time. Puck shot side of the net and it’s covered up on by the Kings goalender. Meeting number two of a scheduled four between these two teams. They’re going to be tired of one another before the regular season starts. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing as the puck goes into the Anaheim Goender pit. Kevin Fiala, longtime player in this league. Back out high slot shot is fired, bouncing off a player in front of the net. Now an opportunity to move it to the right wing side. That deflected wide behind the net. Pressure coming from Los Angeles and some pushing and shoving between the two teams. Puck worked out near the blue line. A drive and that hit a skate in front of the the net. Statistician tonight. He’s got all the numbers. He’s got all the answers. He’ll follow everything very closely. No. Yeah, but he’s good. Yes. 13-10 to go in the first bit. So happy you’re with us here. Game three of the pre-season for the Ducks. Here’s a feed in front of that. A shot and DTO made the save off to the left of his crease. stop scoreless first period near the halfway point and we’re so happy you’re with us. Luno will chop the puck over on the other side of the rink. Uh his glutes loaded and just ready to go at all times. He’s so powerful. He’s so effective. Uh-oh, here comes Biffield. And a drop pass, a drive. And that’s a pad save by Dolto there on a shot for the veteran Joel Edmonson. He takes an odd bounce, recollect possession, and just slide it home. It’s impressive. Here’s Kempe making a play in the circle area to the left of Dostall. Another shot from way out. Straight shot couple of inches inside the blue line. This one by Kempe. And 283 games played in the NHL. I think he’s going to be a nice asset once uh we get the regular season all started which isn’t too far away by the way. All right, puck set behind. Go stall watching his teammate get the puck and play it out to center and the Kings almost intercepted a pass full force. Elenius got in the way. It’s dumped in behind Oall. Here come the Kings again trying to get on the board first. Teams are at full strength right now. Shot attempt high slot now one blocked by a leg in front of the net after the shot by the Kings. Another chance for Los Angeles to set up. Shot blasted. I don’t know if uh still got a piece of that one. I don’t think so. Now he feathers one away to the corner after a shot from the point. He provided a spark. And there’s a big time shot by Neenko. All right. Puck picked up by Anaheim. Bring it out high. Another shot. This one a right pad kick out by the Kings. Darcy Keer, their goalender. And then a collision out near the blue line. We’re going to try to bring you some exciting hockey here and you know get the playoffs and all the good things that come with that. All right, Kings shoot it. And that’s wide. Stick side of Dost. Oh boy, close call. Keel Thomas, the guy that went from the boards to the front of the net. Lost possession. Then they put another quick shot on goal. And opportunity there on the penalty kill. It just it makes you think, right? Every shot counts. Face off to the right of the Los Angeles goalender Darcy Keer. And again down at the other end, Lucas Tostto, if you just joined us here in the 142 that remains in the opening period. Here comes Los Angeles Malot. Kick the puck to himself. Lays it off a shot. They score. Big shot by right-winger Martin Croak. He’s from Slovakia and he gives the Kings a one to nothing lead late in the first period. How about Jeff Malot breaking free him taking that puck from the near side. He gains a solid entry. A little shimmy. Pretty good deception before making a solid 15 foot east west pass right on the tape of Martin Cromiac. He makes to those guys. That way their wingers Troy Terry for Leo of course cutter they can do what they do best and that’s shoot the biscuit. Yeah. You know what? It’s funny. We’re we’re talking about uh Leo Carlson. We’ll be talking a lot about him during the record. Look, can it change again? I definitely think so. It’s all about feeling it out here early in preseason. Yep. And you got enough games to do that. That’s for sure. Now, that’s another interesting uh conversation too is that we can talk about that during a upcoming uh break right now real quick. But uh broken breakaway there missing just far side wide. But another guy not missing too many is Sam Cleenzel on that last play. Oh, breakaway for the Kings. Copitar Bright Futures in front of them. So, some depth in that department. Here’s a puck moved in front. Save. Kings go. He didn’t know where was Terry. He’s over near the bench right now. Will stay on the ice. I think that’s just a big time acquisition there. Here is Granlin in shoots. Pad save there. Kings goender keeps it up. That’s Darcy Keer. And again, Lucas Stoall at the other end if you just tuned us in. Almost at the halfway point of the game. Kings lead one to nothing, but both teams with someone in the sin bin at the moment, making it a fouron four. That’ll change here soon. A shot right on by Jeff Meot. Stopped by Doto. Yeah, Jeff Malot for the Los Angeles Kings. He’s been a spark plug for the Kings all game long. But one of the keys for the Anaheim Ducks, they must come out with the puck on that near side offensive zone corner puck battle, right? You have Criedes in there. You have, of course, Comr in there. But at the same time, I get that it’s late in the shift. Oh, there’s a big time save by Lucall. It’s late. Moving in full speed ahead for all five that are out in the ice up front. Netor try to center it to creating an opportunity from behind the King’s goal. Puck centered and a backhand shot there is partially blocked by Chromiaak who has a goal in this hockey game. The Kings only goal. Ducks are down one- nothing. And boy, how about that quick reaction by Ghost the leather robbing Jared Woolly. What a save. Oh boy. Flashing that glove. The defenseman helped block that one. Here comes NI breaking in the youngster Soulberg. They go to the net. Loose in front and the puck knocked in the air and rolled wide to the post. Hope you stick around for our intermission show as well coming up soon. Shot. How’s this one going to end? Well, we know for sure you need to score goals to win games. And we’re down one to nothing here. Recent 50 goal season not too long ago. Uh upwards of 75 points there as well. There’s a long bomb from Joel Evson. That puck right down Main Street. And how about those silky mixs going outside, back, inside, almost connecting on that last play. All right, Los Angeles Kyle Burroughs trying to clear. Can a shot off to the side of the net and that one just missed. Sam Kangelo and by great four checks. Some great speed like this one through the neutral zone. Still only two shots and they just took one away. So shoots it in. They’ll hustle in after it. Kings goalender Keer is there first to make a play up for Malot cruising in on right wing and the youngster. Steen Soulberg there to help defend that opportunity. They had puck at the point. Pointto-point shot score. Burroughs was out at the point. So was Will Woolly. They’re the third deep pair for them. And it’s a guy that I mentioned lots earlier in this game. He’s been skating well. He’s been getting to the gritty areas as what a lot of his game is. But he just pencils himself right above that top hash area. Opens the face of his blade. And how about that? Just over track down those pucks. Yeah, do it. Here, here comes LA moving the puck through center ice going behind the net. A little roller in front and they score off a clang. And it really wasn’t his fault, but somehow the Los Angeles players surprised him. Threw the puck in front off his leg over the goal line and that’s a three nothing lead on a goal by FIA. behind him, around him, not sure where that puck was. And we said afar maybe a little bit quiet and just like that he starts that play off once again playing everywhere. Here comes the three on one led by Kosier. Oh, and a little wrist shot in tight. Stopped by Keer and that folks is history. This game is in the books and the Kings with an impressive win tonight here in Anaheim against the Ducks 3 nothing. [Music]

Jeff Malott scored a goal and added an assist while Darcy Kuemper stopped all 14 shots he faced as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 in pre-season action.
