0-3 sLop & 4/5 seasons he had a bottom 5 or 10 OLine on the Giants. 2024 being the worst, Up to the point he left at least.
Colts have a top 10 OLine.
Giants were The Problem, Not Daniel Jones.

I said this until I was blue in the face and people in this very sub was acting like I was booboo the fool. You can’t be a good quarterback if you are running for your life on every play and getting mollywhopped 5+ times every game.
The easy answer for both players is they went to teams with better o-lines.
He was here for 6 and regressed every year, yeah the coaching sucks, but so did Jones.
Daniel Jones had 6 years to prove he was a good QB here.
any Giants fan that knows football knew Dimes wasn’t the problem.
It’s three games
Both things could be right at the same time. The line sucked, and he also played like shit most of the time.
Xavier McKinney
At the beginning of last year, before Andrew Thomas got hurt, the line was playing at an average to above average level and DJ wasn’t good. Multiple things can be true at the same time.
Dude had some good games here. He had 2 good games and one meh game in Indy. He’s the same dude as of right now. If he can stay consistent and not get hurt for the year then I’ll say Giants were the problem with him but jumping to the extreme from 2 games is pretty haphazard and reactionary.
Daniel Jones was not a good Quarterback for the Giants. Good games for the Colts does NOT change that.
3 games against garbage teams lmao let’s wait bro he had good games with the giants bunch of fucking goldfish memories I swear.
Jesus christ, you guys are fucking exhausting
Jones is on a better team with a coach whose system fits his game a lot better than Daboll’s did. He has a better line and more playmakers. Happy for him to show out a little.
It’s not just the oline…stop trying to make Daniel good….hes an average qb. He benefits if the scheme is good and if he can make presnap reads. His post snap processing is still dog. The colts have talent around him and an excellent scheme. It’s dj 2022 but with more talent. The 2022 scheme wasn’t shown on film so it took the league by surprise and we had a soft schedule.
Daboll has had 3 years to change and be creative and all he shits out is the same scheme hoping he can find his Josh Allen to elevate him again. It’s not daboll, it never was. He’s an above average offensive mind but not a damn guru.
Did we not all watch the same clips of single reads, running INTO sacks, having zero anticipation, and refusing to throw to deep open receivers? Cool, he’s found something somewhere else. For 3 games. Mostly against garbage or overhyped teams. Let. It. Rest.
Getting a good center would be a start. Haven’t had one of those since 2011.
Wait until Dart gets smothered by the Chargers.
Before we anoint him as the next Tom Brady, let’s take a bigger sample size than 3 games against teams with a collective record of 1-8.
No fucking shit
Can the fans start to admit we are part of the problem? We have been toxic as hell to these guys. Jones got shit on from the draft, and so did Saquan to an extent because we took him so high. The noise around Saquan died down but fuck NY is a miserable fan base to these guys. Yeah coaching and ownership has been bad but so have we.
He was hurt last year and you could clearly see it. i still think of him as the same player but with better coaching and a better support system. So yeah naturally he looks better but he is what he is and that’s good to great with support and awful without it.
Daboll and Schoen are the problem?
What about Shurmur and Gettleman who actually drafted him?
Do people actually blame Dabs for Jones? That was never his QB. Dabs was his third coach.
The issue is oline and an inept ownership who can’t put the right people in the right places, specifically offensive line.
A) SB does not have the season he had with the giants. WE ALL KNOW THAT, so what is the point of bringing it up.
Now, DJ has a very good running game and offensive line. Did the giants have that?
DJ processes the field slower than other QB’S. Could an added .5 sec mean the difference, it absolutely could.
Better line and scheme. He is throwing to his first read 80% of the time. It’s open more often and he is protected
This has been the way since they blamed Eli and Coughlin and they still can’t get it through their thick heads. Coughlin was right to not shake hands on his way out.
TL:DR. Has a good team around him, the right scheme. He isn’t good enough to elevate a team/other players but it good enough in the right situation.
How does every fucking football “influencer” or whatever-the-fuck keep missing the obvious answer: THE FUCKING O LINE.
If I was cynical, I’d say they were ignoring it on purpose to drive more hysteria clicks.
I knew he’d be better elsewhere….because the o line is better. Same for saquon.
This shit is getting ridiculous.
Jones consistently missed wide open WRs with a clean pocket for years. When he was under pressure it was way worse.
He has more time and WRs with a bigger catch radius right now, so things have gone well for him… hell he put together A good year with us. So this shouldn’t be that surprising, maybe give it more than 3 games before sulking.
And at no point was Saquon bad with the Giants, just injury prone. In his first couple seasons the offensive line was giving him he a yard before contact as the average. Still that is nothing like the help he gets in Philly. He went to a complete team, of course he was going to flourish.
Daboll held back Josh Allen as well. He got wayyy too much credit for helping him develop. That was all on his qb coaches eg. Palmer. He always called predictable offense and most Bills fans were kinda over his run run pass garbage.
So many fans personalities became “Jones is Hitler and the root of literally all my problems in life” so I’m not surprised we still have folks here who can’t admit they probably were wrong
Stop
So, so tired of this nonsense. Barkley was one of the best RBs while on the Giants. He didn’t suddenly become good with the Eagles. DJ was and still is a serviceable NFL QB, but if your team is down 7 with 2 minutes to go I can think of a dozen QBs I would prefer to have before DJ. He can manage a winning game but I would expect him to win any games by himself.
Fewer games into his redemption than years floundering, I’m sure this will age well.
