NOAH PHILP WANTS A ROSTER SPOT! | Edmonton Oilers vs Winnipeg Jets Pre-Season Post-Game

Hey friends, this is Dolan TV. Glad to have you aboard here for a postgame edition. Really truly the first postgame edition on the channel of the pre-season and of course for the Oilers. One that is worth mentioning. A lot of standouts for the club, a lot of guys that stepped up and got the job done tonight in a 3-2 victory over top of the Winnipeg Jets. It’s always a good day when you beat the Jets. You know, really in terms of Canadian competition, that’s who we’ve got right now in the Western Conference. And hey, you know what? It’s always a good time to be the best team in that matchup. All right, friends. What do we got to know? Well, if you’re new to the channel right now, take that time to take the rest of the video to consider hitting that subscribe button. Would love to have you aboard as a regular subscriber on the channel. Just allows you to get the uh get the videos a little quicker. You can enable notifications and you know if a post game comes up you want to tune in to it’ll be right there for you as opposed to having to find it. All right, what do we know? Well, what do we know is the standouts after this third third game of the preseason. Yeah, that’s where we’re at. Third game of the preseason already up and done. Noah Phelp with two assists. He was a man on a mission tonight. You go back watch the tape on both assists. Absolutely gorgeous. one finding Quinn Hudson in front secondarily finding Ty Emerson at the far blue line when Emerson walks in and absolutely wires home a shot. Speaking of wiring home a shot, we’re doing this all out of order because I’m having fun with it. Ike Howard Rockstar zone for the Oilers at least while we talk about that. That would be the uh yeah, Leon Dry settle spot scoring that one. An absolutely wicked release showing off what makes Ike Howard special. Now again, is like Howard going to get a ton of power play time? No. Is the second power play unit going to get more time? Maybe. And if it does, and he’s allowed a top six spot to start the year, he could very well do well for himself out of the gates. Quinn Hudson as well. I think it’s really just uh coming down to everything you heard on the Oilers broadcast. It is just Quinn Hudson, he is a smart player. He’s a guy that knows where to be, when to be, and there’s a reason why, you know, there’s a lot made about the family that he’s from. So, I would say, you know, for Quinn Hudson, there’s a lot to like about this young guy coming into the Oilers organization last spring and what he could bring to us over the course of the next few years. So, that’s that. That’s the news today out of the game. Calvin Pickard, you saw on there as well. Flash that up again with three exclamation marks. I don’t think the Oilers win this game if not for Calvin Pickard in the first period. He had himself a fantastic start to the game. Obviously making some key saves, getting some bailout help there from Cole Perfetti. Maybe Fanning on a bit of a breakaway as well. So uh yeah, no, all in all a great game for the Evston Oilers. positive note and again this is the tough part about the preeason last year is a lot of the time after a game you weren’t so happy and smiley because it was like man these guys got to get it together but nan Hopkins an assist on the power play again I tell you if the Oilers power play goes to shop first again we are going to see Nan Hopkins be a 100point player if he plays all 82 games I can almost guarantee that that is of course the key for N just piling up those power play points And at this point of his career, if he wants to pile up power play points, put the Oilers in first place and win a Stanley Cup all in your one year, who’s to complain about being a power play merchant at that point. So friends, for right now though, that is all I really got for you. I think you know the defensive miscues over the first half of the game, flush them. Atal lepin again continues to be a very exciting, promising player for the Bakersfield Condors at least to start this year. And the Oilers are going to have some conversations on defense over the course of the next eight months. I’m going to tell you that much. So stay tuned for right now. That’ll do it. I am up on out of here.

Noah Philp had himself a heck of a game, and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Jets despite a late Winnipeg push.
