Forty Niner Way: “La Casa de Los Fieles” – Week 3 Recap vs. Arizona Cardinals

[Applause] to be able to get to 2 and 0 in the division and 3-0 when you consider the injuries and the health issues this team has had with some of its best players. It’s money in the bank, man. Just keep making deposits. I think the 49ers are feeling themselves and the 49ers defense is the real deal right now. Contrastandencia Latina. The Niners in their throwback whites. The only time they’ll wear these uniforms this year. We got that in there. All white. We got a whole squad gota tell you. [Applause] Let’s do it. Get your mind right. If that ain’t right, get your mind right right now. Play for your brother. Play for your brother. Give me everything you got today. Let’s go. Let’s go beat dad. 1 2 3 go, baby. And this place is buzzing as we get ready for the 49ers home opener. The winner of this game will have an early spot at top the NFC West. Steady Pinero made his Niners debut last week and he’ll boot it away. Arizona has dominated possession in this first half. Lowscoring affair as the defenses have shown their muscle. Second down for the 49ers. M. Jones. Play action. Straight drop. Holding up. Holding up. Holding up. Throws. Cuts and lows. And there’s Ricky Pieraw. First first down for the Niners. said it’s Pearson. M Jones half rolls and then a beautiful in cut route in the middle of the field by Ricky Pear. M Jones takes the shotgun snap. Quick throw out and it’s snagged with the fingertips. Kendrick Bourne a catch back like he never left and a pick of a nine and down just three nothing. This crowd can sense for all that’s gone wrong. The 49ers can take the lead in the blink of an eye here. And here comes Eddie Pinero to try a field goal here at Levi Stadium of 38 yds. Thomas Morstead’s going to put it down at the 28 on the right hash. The kick is up. It is away and it is good. The 49ers have tied the game. Job Eddie. It’s been a physical game. Look at M. Jones’s jersey already ripped up near the shoulder. It’s 3-3. Arizonans want to try to salt this clock away. The 49er D have got to get off the field and get it back to the O before half. Tyler Murray’s going to go under center here. Third down and less than two. He turns. He hands. There’s Connor. And there is Fred Warner. They’re going to mark him shy. It is fourth down. What a big step up for this 49ers defense. First 28 minutes kind of lacking rhythm offensively, but these two minute drives, both teams have all three timeouts. This is a chance for San Francisco to get into a little bit of rhythm here. M. Jones turns hands off. Christian McAffrey big hole through the left side and McCaffrey is forward for a first down to the 31 yd line. and one of the better third down teams in the NFL last year is 0 for three so far today. M Jones steps up, throws, cut over the middle and another conversion. Ricky Pearl is a first down machine. M Jones drop back, throws and there’s Kendrick bouncing off defenders. He gets all 10 yards back. Another one of those slants that he and Mac Jones feel comfortable with. Eddie Pierro will get a chance from 51. Kick is up. It is on the way and it has more than enough leg. Eddie Pinero drilled it and the 49ers lead six to three. Yeah, Eddie. Yeah, Eddie. [Applause] Remember BSA is out right now with that knee injury. This is where Michael Williams has to come alive and mature fast. He’s just a rookie making his third start here. Murray running out of time. from his own end zone. Got away from West now trying to maneuver away. Got rid of it with Mike Williams bringing pressure. What a great job by defense just keeping it alive and continuing to swarm. Oh, I don’t care how it looks. We got to survive here. And to survive, Pearl’s got to get the ball and it’s got to go to 23 Maccaffry. Here we go, boys. Jones takes a shot. It is Pier. Did he hold on? He did. Oneon-one ball and number one holds it in for the best catch of the day. It’s first and goal San Francisco. Ball of the two tie game. 49ers with it. M. Jones turns play action. Rolling left. He’s got use check. Use check makes the catch. It’s a touchdown. 49ers. San Francisco. Hey. Hey. Let’s go. [Music] sir. Murray takes the snap, turns, looks, throws, endzone, and McBride. Did he get both feet down? He did. Touchdown for the Cardinals. He went almost three and a half quarters with only field goals and now backto-back drives. The teams have exchanged touchdowns. Blitz coming. Murray batted down by Warner and Fred Warner is San Francisco’s defensive superman. M. Jones takes the snap. Pressure up the middle. He’s in the end zone in trouble. Flag is down. Matt gets away. This could be a penalty against the 49ers in the end zone which would be a safety and give Arizona the lead. Kus Campbell gets two points for Arizona and it’s going to be a safety kick here. Tyler Murray takes the shotgun snap now running to his right with a lead block from Benson and Maris Teagle comes up to tackle him at midfield. Gain of one yard. When you can stuff him like that, keep it second and 10. Now you got a chance to stop the clock with your timeouts and hopefully get the ball back to go kick a field goal and win. Kyler Murray again in the shotgun. He’s going to give this def Benson up the middle and Fred Warner is there. Alfred Collins is there. Mike Williams is there and a big third down and nine coming up. Game’s on the line. Hey, we’re going to get a shot, boys. Third and nine. And out of the shotgun, Tyler Murray straight drop. He steps up. He throws and it’s broken up. Upton Stout with one of the biggest plays of his young career to break up what looked like a sure catch and a first down for Z Jones. And the 49ers have a shot. We got a chance. Out comes you, baby. Let’s go. Three times M. Jones in his NFL career has led a game-winning drive. Let’s go. Be great, bud. Let’s go. Do it. And now San Francisco still has one timeout left and 106 seconds to try to get into field goal range for Eddie Pinro. Trying to do it in a divisional contest today. And he finds a tight end and Ponis for a first down. Blitz coming again. Another quick throw. It’s good for a first down to Bourne who pinballs his way down to the 36. 40 seconds in counting. McCaffrey beside M. Jones takes the shotgun snap. Sets up the screen. There is Christian. He’s got it. Block in front. McAffrey another. Cuts it back at the 20. McCaffrey down to the 15 yd line. A first down for the 49ers. They are in position to win the game for Eddie Pierro. [Music] [Applause] as gold San Francisco. [Applause] The final score is the 49ers 16 and the Cardinals 15. The Niners are 3-0. They’re in first place in the NFC West. It was not pretty, but there is nothing finer today than that win for the San Francisco 49ers. Hey, wasn’t easy, but we got it done. Let’s go, baby. Hey, first home, baby. Let’s keep it rolling. Yes. [Applause] That boy. Let’s go, man. You too. My boy. All right, guys. Hey, bring it up. Guys, unbelievable job. Man, the fortitude of you guys, the resilience, the character, whatever happened in that game, guys. You guys didn’t panic. We got them done. Man, I tell you, I told you guys last night, whoever ran the ball better this game. That was awesome football. All right. When I look at that and I go down to the end of that game. All right, M. You battling through that. D, you guys gave us a chance to run away with it. Upton style, where are you, man? Let’s do it. Let’s do it. What y’all boys taught me the most. Learn how to battle when get hard. Don’t put your head down. Always keep your head up and just get ready for the next play. Let’s get ready for next week and appreciate y’all. Love you guys. Hell of a win. Enjoy it tonight. We’ll see you guys tomorrow, man. Family on three. 1 2 3. [Music]

  1. As a former HS kicker, and lifetime diehard fan, that last shot of Eddy getting to break the team down hit deep. Very cool moment for Eddy. Keep it going boys!!!!

  2. Niners locker room always seems very close. The culture plays a big part in all the wins. If you have a toxic locker room that can destroy teams. That's one thing you can't talk bad about Kyle and Lynch, they've made it clear they go for players who fit that locker room and who they know will not be toxic.

  3. Watching all of our rookies making game changing plays in the third and fourth quarter was a beauty you got Mykel Williams and cj west and Alfred Collin’s causing the grounding call then Siegel making a game tackle on Murray for a yard on the final drive and Upton stout with the PBU on third down when you gotta have it these dudes are rising to the occasion

  4. Upton is such an intriguing player.. Excited to see how his game develops over the years but early evaluation shows that we got us a good one.. Lets Do It!!!
