Think anybody on this list is inducted in 2026 (Gary Anderson, Davis DeCastro, James Farrior, James Harrison, Carnell Lake, Maurkice Pouncey, Allen Rossum & Hines Ward)? https://www.steelers.com/news/steelers-among-nominees-for-hof-class-of-2026

  1. I’d love for Pouncey to get in. I’d prefer if he and Ben go in the hall of fame together the next year though

  2. Maybe James Harrison but I don’t know if he has the perceived longevity. Otherwise he checks all the boxes.
Hines is definitely deserving but the voters have shown they don’t like him so fingers crossed for both.

  3. I don’t think any of them are inducted. I think Hines is the most deserving, but there are so many good WRs waiting to get in right now, and for some reason people don’t give him as much credit for career numbers as they should.

Pouncey was arguably the best relative to other players at his position throughout his career. 9x pro bowler and 3x all pro. Should also receive serious consideration, but I doubt he gets in. Harrison’s peak was crazy, but too short.

Edit: gonna amend this and actually I think Pouncey is the most deserving. Love Hines to death, but he was never the dominant force that Maurkice was

  4. Obviously I strongly think Ward should get in but he really is in the Hall of Very Good. Fitzy is probably the only WR deserving.

  5. Pouncey will get in eventually but not quite a first ballot guy. The rest have difficult odds. Personally I prefer a more strict selection process rather than letting in guys who are borderline.

  6. Pouncey eventually gets in, but just not right now.

I would love Hines to get in. Not many receivers have played the game like him. A top 3 all time blocker at the position. I just don’t think he’s got the receiving stats or awards to get in.

David DeCastro is such an interesting outlier here. He only played 8 years, but was arguably one of the best guards in the league all eight years. I don’t think he gets in due to the length of his career, but man, he was impressive throughout.

Kickers deserve love and Gary Anderson was one of the best to ever do it. But he is a kicker lol.

  7. I expect DeCastro to get in, but a few years down the road. Pouncey could, but the same thing. Harrison has an interesting case. The others likely won’t.

  8. Pouncey, DeCastro and Lev all get enshrined together next year in the fictitious universe inside of my mind

  9. I wish Hines but it seems the odds are stacked against him right now.

His value as a WR is so much more than just his stats.

  10. Several of these guys are more than deserving, but I think it will be hard for them to get in. Pouncey and Hines should go, but probably not in 26. Harrison deserves it, but he’ll never get in because he has a reputation of being dirty. Look at the number of fines and rules that were introduced because of him. The League will never allow him to be honored.

  11. Harrison and Hines need to be in the HoF IMO.

I also think Carnell Lake and Gary Anderson are deserving, but have less of a shot.

Pouncey definitely HoF caliber, but probably cost himself by retiring so young. Everyone else, Hall of Very Good?

If the 00s to early 10s teams had won one more Super Bowl, I think you would have seen a lot more of those guys enter the conversation.

  12. Pouncey will get in eventually but looking at how long it took Faneca to get in I could see it taking even longer for Pouncey.

  13. Harrison, Pouncey, and award all go in eventually. Decastro maybe also. I loved farrier but didn’t think of him as future HOF. I don’t remember Anderson or Lake or Rossum well, granted I’m only like 30

  14. Hines is a Hall of Fame football player, whose position happened to be WR. He’s the only WR who forced the NFL to change a blocking rule, because he broke a LB’s jaw. He was a football player for the Bulldogs playing QB, RB and WR. He wasn’t the prototypical WR, which is why he may or may not get in the HOF.

  15. Pouncey will get in eventually but probably not immediately.

I’d love to see Ward get in, but I can’t imagine he’ll do it with Tory Holt still waiting. Ward might get in, but it’ll probably be a Cliff Branch or Drew Pearson type situation where he gets in 40 years after he retired.

Anderson absolutely deserves it but won’t get in because he’s a kicker and the Hall of Fame hates kickers.

I think DeCastro had the skill necessary but he’s career was just too short. Unfortunate for such a talented guard.
