Arizona Cardinals to debut rivalry uniform vs. Seahawks in Week 4 | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

Tonight in Arizona, the debut of the rivalry uniforms. Well, one of them. This is where it gets a little weird. Only the home team is wearing the rivalry uniform, not the road team. And the Arizona Cardinals will be wearing a uniform that literally looks like it’s been dragged on the road. Or it’s WY Coyote on the wrong end of the latest high jinks of the Road Runner and he’s had mud splashed all over him. I actually like it. As the rivalry uniforms go via the ongoing nification of the National Football League, the Cardinals are the best. The other seven are, and I’m searching for the right word. Kaka would be the word. But that’s what happens. The Dolphins, give me a break. We get to see those on Monday night. So, it’s it’s just another way to wedge more merch onto the shelves. That’s all it is. Remember the color rush uniforms? They come up with this marketing slogan. Don Draper stands in there with his easel and he sells them on how we’re going to basically sell more stuff. That’s what it is. This rivalry thing is all about selling more stuff. And I know, I know. Go ahead and get off my lawn. I don’t care. I want the traditional uniforms, but I kind of like the Cardinals uniform. I kind of like the look in the field.
