FULL 9TH INNING: Noelvi Marte’s SPECTACULAR no-look catch keeps the Reds alive 😤😤

Alio Pagan has never had 30 saves in a year. He bids for number 30 right now. [Applause] [Music] in the air right field. Marte one down. Pagan’s command was not clean last night. Fired to score Leenning but did so on 26 pitches. had to work around a hit batter, a base hit, a walk, and he left him loaded. Brian Reynolds has singled. He’s one for three. Strike out bounce to first. Steer plays deep and tight to the line. [Music] When the Reds get to Milwaukee, they’re going to try to exercise some major demons. Brewers have claimed 13 straight series, 17 of 19 head-to-head against the Reds. If they’re going to make their way into the playoffs, they’re going to have to earn it in some way. And the Mets have certainly stumbled significantly. The Diamondbacks fell in extras to the Dodgers yesterday. Reds trying to handle their own business here. Go five and two on the final home stand of the regular year. 3-0 to Reynolds. He swings highf fly right field. Marte all the way back. Leaps at the wall. He caught it. He takes away a game tying home run. The biggest play from Mart in the outfield. He saves the day. I saw him after he caught the ball running to TJ Fredo like, well, does he have it? Does he not? That is an outstanding play. Getting to the wall, scaling and extending. [Applause] Outstanding. That’s a great play. Pagan himself and stunned disbelief. From oh no to oh yes. McCutchen to right. Marte and route again. He got it. The Reds close out their home slate of the regular year with a win. They top the Pirates two to one. The Reds are a half game out in the wild card. Well, Nicolo certainly did a really nice job and the bullpen comes in and does it well. The offense figured it out. And maybe the biggest move of the season was taking Noel Marte and putting him in right field. We’ve seen him offensively really wake up. But that inning right there recording all the put outs culminated by that home run saving catch. Outstanding. What a way to finish the home stand. Now you got an opportunity to go to Milwaukee and really change the narrative. Good luck, buddy. Noelvie Marte got the Reds on the board last night. He drove in the first run today. He scored the second run today. That proved to be the decisive tally and he saved the game with his best fielding play as an outfielder, period. Really working on instinct. I’m sure he’s gone out there and he’s worked on scaling that wall, but he gets back to what he does great on that particular play. He’s he gets back to the wall and then he’s able to go vertical. And I mean, he got up well over that wall and pulled it back. That ball’s definitely out of the ballpark, but what a great play. And what a great time to make that great play. So, Reds a half game out. Diamondbacks are down. Reds own the tie break over both the Mets and Arizona. Lark, a great year being with you. Thank you.
