Astros vs. A’s Game Highlights (9/25/25) | MLB Highlights

Shows during this five game losing streak have trailed in 40 of the 45 innings. They need to take care of their business. We’ve been saying that for a while but there are only four games left. They win those four games. That is the ultimate opportunity to get into the postseason. Yes, you’re going to need some help from teams on that list, taking a couple of losses, but it’s all right here right now today. Young right hander JTK on the mound, you said Jenny final start of the season, he’s made 15 of them trying to finish strong, finish healthy and I think ultimately finish with a bang here against the Astros, an opportunity to put them to bed not only for the season series but for their season as well. And the Astros have two on with one out for Victor Caratini two men on is a start, isn’t it? It is. Now the Astros looking for that elusive hit with runners in scoring position. They were zero for five in these situations. Last night, there is a ball past the diving base. Darryl. Her being waved around is, is per he’s going to jog home and the Astros have their first lead in the last six games. It’s one thanks to Carini, great job by getting a pitch. He can hit hard, sing it past the second baseman now, 1st and 3rd 1 out and christian Walker can try to add to the lead. Slowly hit to third. It’s going to be a tough play to turn to, they get the out in second and safe at first walker. So that is just enough for Walker to get his 83 RB I of the year and the Astros lead two to nothing here in the first inning last game here in Sacramento. And it’s going to be started by Valdez, a new look high and tight as farmer takes the mound for his 31st start. 375, a over the season. But this month of September has been rough 0 to 4 with an 8.27 a first pitch and on base are trying to rally from behind early in the game. Here’s Jacob wilson up to the two spot today. He is hitting 3 1513 homers swing and a miss got him on a curveball in the dirt and wilson strikes out on three pitches, one away from, comes back from 31 to pick up a strikeout of Soderstrom. Back to back cases. Forde is 02 swing and a Miss. Good morning, good afternoon and good night, Brent Rooker struck out on a curveball from valdez allows a first pitch single, Then strikes out the next three. Zack Cole leads it off for the Astros. We go to the second, they lead two nothing. Zack Cole players one into right could be in a tough spot. It’s going to drop in for a hit. Cole is going to get to second as Brett Rooker could not handle it. Clearly, don’t think it would have mattered as Cole was on the move as soon as he popped that ball to right. He has a little double to start the inning one away that will bring up Mauricio Dubón Cole tried to steal the pitches down and a stolen base for Cole on the walk to Dubón that puts runners on 1st and 3rd with one out. That’s the first big league steal of Zack Cole’s career. So runners at the corners one out for altuve who struck out his last time up. Altuve, that’s a fair ball heading toward the corner. Zack Cole scores Dubón being held up and it’s a three nothing Astros lead. Jose Altuve drives in run number 76 on the year. Another hit with a runner in scoring position already the Astros way ahead of their game. So now 2nd and 3rd 1 out and Isak Per is the batter line drive base hit Dubón will score Altuve to third four nothing Astros Isak Peredes with an RB. I got a pitch to his liking and drilled it through the left side , they were pulled in. Remember infielders were in and Peredes threw it right past them. Three straight Astros have reached and four of the five who have come up this inning have gotten on base and now it’s Correa’s turn. He walked and scored his first time and that’s a ground ball weekly hit, left side coming in Harris. He gloves throws to first in time to get Correa for the second out. Altuve scores and it’s five Astros situational just put it in play by and the Astros expand the lead one walk to that will bring up the hitter langle 10 pitch swung on, hit to right center for a base hit Macy rounding second base and he will get the third single for Langs for shea. He’s now six for his last six and seven for his last nine runners on the corners for Jacob Wilson who struck out his last time up ground ball to third, Correo to second for one. The double play from Valdez, a double play specialist as he gets the double play to keep the shutout through three. How to be the third walk allowed by JT and the Astros have two runners on is a Pers already driven in a run with an RB singles. Last time up, he’s also scored a run light try that’s going to get home, a run around. Third comes Jamel, he’s going to score altuve heads to third and he will be safe at third RB I single for Peredes and the Astros now lead six nothing. There you go. Base runners and Then a big swing. Second RB I for Peredes on the afternoon and Correa now comes to the plate with runners on the corners, swung on him is he struck him out on the, and Kat is going to come out of the dugout looks like he’s going to make a move. So 81 pitches for again, it looks like his day is done is KSE points to the bullpen, lefty Brady Bass, the new pitcher and he goes the 32 pitch in the dirt ball for gets away from the not far enough. So it’s a walk to car, got a bat for Carini and that loads the bases for christian Walker and the was an opportunity to bust the game wide open now and that’s a single to right field base hit Altuve will score and Peredes will be held up at third base kind of a station to station with Peredes going from second to third and walker picks up another RB I it seven to nothing is going to be on a pitch hitter for Sanchez swung on and missed down. He goes, Basso strikes out Smith but the Astros add a couple more two runs on three hits, two walks. So draws the one out walk. Second walk. Bass has allowed it brings up mauricio Dubón walked and scored in the second flight out in the fourth that is hit sharply over the leap of Harris and down the left field line bounds all the way to the wall racing to third. He’s getting away from, here’s the throw to the plate by Wilson on the slide is in there over to third base goes to and the Astros lead is eight to nothing. And the Astros continue to tack on with the Astros up eight nothing. They scored eight runs total over their five game losing streak. Here’s altuve an RBI double in a walk. He scored twice today. Pops it up with the infield in her has to try and find it. Here comes dan trying to score and is going to get in. That ball is not handle as soon as he turned around, he looked right into the sun and couldn’t find it through his arms out. So a break there for the Astros. It is an RB I single for altuve back out there after a quick top half of the sixth inning. So far, working on a five inning shutout has allowed five hits, two of them last inning also walk to and struck out 71 away and that will bring up Colby Thomas and a three pitch strikeout again for proper. He’s got five of them today of his eight strikeouts, the strikeouts matching the he had against the Yankees September 2nd the most he’s had in the last two months. Two out nobody on for Nick Kurtz , who’s one for two today with a single and a strikeout stroke to left, going back from at the track, he’s right to the wall. He will watch it and Nick Kurtz goes the other way once again and burnishing his rookie of the year resume with his 34th home run. That ball just never came down. It was a curveball and a pretty good one. And Kurtz the left, he went down there and scooped it the other way for the homer and it’s 9 to 1 Astros. That is the 10th hit for the Astros on the day. 1st and 2nd will bring up the third baseman Carlos Correa, the ball down the line and right. Correa has a base hit to the corner in the score. The Astros with double figures. It’s a 10 to 1 game as Carlos Correa drives in his second run of the game with a aa bad time to go out pad stat to continue to get good base hits. Been very good at going the other way since putting the Astros back on the Astros been good in risp situations from Valdez still out there for his seventh inning of work. He got the top of the order due up and a three pitch strikeout again, six of his nine strikeouts have come with just three pitches. Today is dialed in. Oh, what a bounce back for from valdez. He needed this badly. So did the Astros strikeout number 10 for from valdez double digits for from ground ball to short Dubón backhand his throw in time from Valdez has his best outing in a while seven innings of one run. Baseball. He strikes out 10 Astros with a 10 to 1 lead as we start the eighth inning in Sacramento. New pitcher for the A’s right hander, Scott mcguff and christian walker lines his first pitch deep to left field and that ball is off the top of the wall and over for a home run for walker. Christian Walker with his 24th home run of the season and the Astros lead is 11 to 1 walker with his third RB I of the afternoon. That’s the first home run of the series for the Astros here in Sacramento. He’s new pitcher for the Astros right hander Angel De Los santos. So one on and one out for nick Kurtz, he’s two for three homered in the six. Kurtz is another five ball to left. This one is deep and going back is for me. He is right to the track to the wall and he’s done it again. Another towering majestic mood shot home run to left field by Nick Kurtz second home run of the day for Nick Kurtz his 35th of the season and it is 11 to 3 Astros. He is ridiculous is on his way to second base and he will hold up there with a leadoff double his fourth hit of the day and his second straight four hit game and that will bring up to not able to make the catch off the wall. And in comes langeliers 11 to 4 ball four, putting two runners on the Astros have an 11 to 4 lead over the athletics here in the bottom of the ninth inning, a couple of runners on nobody out and Joe to go to the closer Brian, this will be his 60 ninth appearance. First pitch to Schuman. His way high goes all the way to the back on the fly and both runners advance to 2nd and 3rd pitch with the chopper to third with the run coming across 11 to 5 11 to the whole backhand by dan, his throw on the money good play by Mauricio and the A are down to their final out. So Nick Kurtz the final hope for the A’s, he is three for four with two homers, three RBIs ball game over Brian Abreu closes it out and the Astros with a much needed 11 5 win snapping a five game losing streak and they keep their hopes for that wild card picture alive. They still have an opportunity to control their own destiny if the Red Sox and Tigers lose later on tonight, they needed that one in a bad way.

  1. Nooooooooo!! I wanted the A's to pull another sweep! The Tigers better get a win tonight! Now the Angels have to follow up on this act. Can they do it? Rangersforever❤

  2. I know, everyone still hates the Astros, and thats fine. I have been a fan since 1980. 1st game was Ryan's 5th no hitter. Astros buddy 1981-1986. Long-time fan. This years has been maddening and if they make it to playoffs, great. If not, no surprise. Injuries have been insane. Love the Astros and hope for the best.

  3. They waited until the end to start playing. I'm glad Framber got rid of the horse hair. Even if they make it were losing in the first round, just like last year. Maybe next year.. maybe.

  4. Hey Marty!

CBS Sports is now showing a 17.2% projection of making the Postseason for the astros.

    Too bad…Too Sad.

Remember you said, whatever the sports media says is the absolute truth. 😂

  5. What's pathetic is that fans assume there will be another baseball season. You do know whose in charge right now , right? That thing in higher office will make sure only MAGA attend sporting events. The days are coming if you don't worship his image then you won't be able to attend games.
