Here’s WHY The Steelers Aren’t Throwing The Ball Deep This Season #shorts

You know, you want to know why Aaron Rodgers isn’t throwing the ball deep? You want to know why he’s 32nd in the league right now in average depth of target? Well, it’s because they can’t run the ball uh even when they have the numbers. And you know, it’s weird because this is one of the heavier offenses in the league. Um this past week against the Patriots, twothirds of their offensive plays were with heavy personnel, yet they still can’t run the football even when uh they have the numbers in the box. If the teams have uh two high safeties, guys, that means the Steelers have the advantage in the run game, and they still can’t move the football effectively even in those instances. So, why the hell would opposing defenses respect the Steelers run game if they can’t run the football uh even when they’re sitting in these two high structures? And

  1. Not sure what it’s going to take to get that going, but it’s become typical. We were always a run first team and it worked. We need Rodgers to spread the D with some 20-30 yarders consistently.

  2. The Steelers can’t run the ball because of their blocking scheme. That slide blocking scheme doesn’t work when defenses fire off the ball up field. That’s why the line men can’t reach their block. The Steelers need to just block the man in front of them and let the back pick his hole.

  3. Whether you can run the ball or not is not the reason you can’t throw deep there has been plenty of teams throughout history that couldn’t run the ball. The offensive line sucks. They can’t pass block.

  4. One thing I don’t like about our Steelers is the love to play people out of position. Talking about versatility. Versatility is for someone who is not an immediate starter. No way b.jones should have been at right tackle for 2-3 years. seumalo out of position yaya black out of position. Look at Kevin Dotson out of position sucked a stud with the rams. Online would be better of everyone stayed out at their right position.

  5. Oline for sure. I was at the Seattle game and was four rows from the field. Seeing them getting manhandled was insane. Many plays I just watched the line play on both sides. They were all moved off the ball.

  6. Definitely poor coaching!
Roethlisberger said Steelers oline start off ball standing up. Not in a low leverage position.
    Poor technique!
If Ben sees it you would think the Steelers coaches can see it. But nope!

  7. We've had a question mark at OLine coach for years and he somehow been able to keep his job. We had bottom 5 RT last year and instead of drafting or bringing in a replacement we think moving him to the Left side was going to fix the problem man you either coach a player up or admit he's not good enough. But not in Pittsburgh right now

  8. It's only week 3 people the o line is young af we gotta give it time to mesh and if it doesn't then we can have this conversation otherwise y'all need to quit yapping and jumping to conclusions that's what teenage girls do trust me I have one I would know 😅

  9. He’s tied for the longest pass so far this year.. 💀 we also run multiple te personnel. Its obvious our offense built to chew the clock keep the D off the field lol

  10. Everybody’s saying the O-line and yeah sure, that’s an issue. Not so much because of the personnel but for the coaching.

The other thing I can’t shake is the feeling that their strength and conditioning program sucks. Amongst other indicators, when Calvin Austin was rehabbing, he went to WVU due to superior equipment and personnel. Look up the article. Not the only time I’ve heard that mentioned. And seeing how gassed guys were Week 1 opposed to so many other players/teams I watch that day.

  11. All of our assistant coaches, aside from special teams coach, need to be replaced. I don’t know how Meyer is still the OL coach. Tomlin doesn’t hire guys that he considers a threat to his control over everything. He hires yes men. It’s time for Mike to go. Once he goes, we can get good, solid assistants that know what they’re doing. It’s easy to see. Our line gets their butt kicked every week, and our defense is easy to read. We should have put 40 on New England with all the turnovers but Rodger’s has no time. Same song different week.

  12. Its only 3 games. 14 games left. Is this a team that has p!ayed together before? What's new about this offense besides the QB, starting RB, #1 WR
I'll give them at least 8 games before trying to critique. At 2-1 give em some slack. I don't care about deep balls, I'd rather see long drives for scores.
The talk should be around the defense, what's up with that

  13. First the o line is crap and they don't have a good running back. I mean it's that simple. It's a shame because Rodgers can still make all the throws but the Steelers don't have what he needs. That defense ain't looking that good either

  14. Jaylen Warren has to break one or two tackles just to get back to the line of scrimmage. Broderick Jones is terrible, the left guard is out there just going through the motion. He might have been good years ago at Philly but he's terrible too. Wait until we face Cleveland. The whole league chips TJ. We won't chip Garrett he's going to get 3 sacks before they try to chip him.

  15. You need more than heavy. Add athleticism and instinct ( football IQ) But Steelers are stuck with heavy. So no run game. Facts is facts…
