The concept of Ayton as a roll-man next to Luka looks good but I donno, his Blazers days seemed a bit iffy lowkey.

  1. Those two are a perfect fit on the court on offense and they’re good friends off the court.

    Chemistry will be 🔥

  2. Yes no doubt they’ll be extremely effective on offense.

What matters much more is ayton’s defense and effort.

  3. Ayton is already a more reliable double double than In N Out.

The question is whether the Lakers can turn him into an All Star level center.

  4. We have one of the best pick and roll finishers and the best pick and roll ball handler on the same team. And to go along with that Ayton can kill switches to. If it doesn’t work something has gone stupidly wrong.

The Blazers were a tanking team without a good shot creator and basically just let rookies get their reps trying to run the show. I wouldn’t put too much stake into what happened there.

  5. Ayton is either gonna be a 20-30 million dollar player or a vet min next year. Hopefully that’s enough motivation.

  6. Need more defense, feels like a glass cannon team. Lakers bout to win games on about 147-139

  7. I think JJ’s point was that Chris Paul is a perfectionist and Ayton was able to play within those expectations. I don’t think Luca requires the same perfection as the short guy.

  8. Yes. It’s really all in the mind with Ayton more so the ability. And I think the mind will be there in LA. Perfect situation and he has a lot on the line.

  9. > His blazers days were a bit iffy

I don’t think this is the correct way to judge Ayton as a player, he was playing next to  inexperienced guards like Sharpe or Scoot

Next season is legitimately make or break for him. This is the first time since Chris that Ayton has played with a generational playmaker that is suited exactly for his vertical ability

Judging off Ayton’s play off when he was playing with Rubio/CP3 is better because those are two high level playmakers that emulate what the two man game will be with Luka

  10. How well Ayton plays will be up to him barring injury. He has the talent. If you can’t buy in with the Lakers on a prove it deal, you’re going to be out of the league

  11. Only Ayton can unlock Ayton. Let’s hope he has a sense of urgency and some selfishness to be the 3rd option, otherwise he’ll be disappointing all the unrealistic expectations of us fans.

  12. He turned lively Gafford into competent centers. I think ayton can be fixed. Ayton playing for next contract .

  13. It’s not ab skill w ayton. His motor is the only thing that’s holding him back from his full potential. That’s something only he can fix.

  14. Can Luka just feed him the ball a third of the time, and the other two-thirds do some front court magic or throw LeBron a lob

  15. i don’t have an issue with the offense. it’s the iq,défense and how mentally strong he is i’m worried about.

  16. Of course he can. Luka is one of the best p&r ball handlers ever. He always makes p&r centers around him look better than they really are.

  17. Luca is the type who likes to make friends. He made Derek Lively do nothing more than stand and wait for the basketball to come to the basket.
