Game Highlights: Jones, Pérez and Greene Homer to Power Tigers to Series Finale Win | 9/25/25

Off. We go in the finale between the Tigers and Guardians in the regular season and we will see if the Tigers can get back to even at the top of the American League Central Parker on the hill. Yes, indeed. He will be making his seventh start. This young man has been awfully good. He’s three to 02 to zero at home getting his first look at the Tigers. Jamia Jones plays strictly against left handers and 270 53 two is demolished. Jamai Jones. That’s a great start. That is what the Tigers needed tonight. Jemiah coming out ready for action in the leadoff spot. He loves that spot against lefties. He hit a couple of those leadoff bombs and that’s only the second home run. Messi has given up in his big league career. That’s the kind of energy we need tonight brings up wins. Perez, the strike one pitch swinging a fly ball left field. This one’s deep. This one’s got a chance and that ball gone wins. Perez number 13 Tigers, two home runs, first three batters, not sure what they did to get ready for this game, but I like it do more of it, whatever it was. Here’s Spencer to and he’s down swinging for out. Number two, Riley Green left on , left, swung on and missed. So Parker Messick bounces back after surrendering two solo homers to strike out the last two batters. The 24 year old from Newport Beach, California Troy Milton making his fourth major league start to get stephen out to start 24 year old rookie for the Guardians, George Valera with a big swing yesterday that strike three run at the very top of the basement stairs. Two down two down ramirez. That ball is lifted to right field. Perez is back and he runs it down. They’re coming out playing right now wins. Perez has had enough one down here in the second inning. Here’s Dylan Dingler as this is level to right. That’s a base hit. Dingler might have a double on his mind. He’s on his way for second base and this throw will not meet him there. It is a one out double for Dylan Dingler. Two down. Here’s he has been out a couple of games here in this series with a stiff neck, a great ball. It’s through the right side returns to the lineup. He has an RB I single and the Tigers on a three nothing lead in the second inning. Good to see Hobby back in full swing right out of Jump street. Here, here’s Jamai Jones, the one swung and grounded to third on the glove side, ramirez has it throws to second and the force ends the inning but the Tigers tag on and there’s a baserunner the first one for Cleveland, a one out walk. Here’s Angel Martinez in center field tonight, there’s a chopper to second base and the Tigers will take the out over at first Martinez retired Arias to second two down CJ one for three in the series. He put some good swings on the baseball last night, hit his first couple at bats line drives for out. There you go. Two out base hit right field. The wall scores to second base. It’s a two out RB I double that will get you going. So you get a score on a walk and a base hit. Here’s Roch who breaks his bat rolling to second base. Clever Torres handles it and the Tigers will carry a 3 to 1 lead into the third. Cleber torres at the plate, 234 hitters swing and he struck him out with a curveball. It was a beauty. His fourth strikeout one down here in the third. Here’s wins. Perez got him swinging with a changeup. They’ll give Parker Messi credit , Perez his fifth strikeout victim. Two down in the Tiger. Third here is spencer Toleen swing and a miss. He powered a fastball by him and strikes out the side here in inning number three, Riley Green. The hitter for the Tigers. It is 3 to 1. We are here in the fourth and Riley Green, the baseball make that 4 to 1 and that three run lead is back as a get me over fastball to a guy that’s got 35 homers. Riley is not going to miss that. No, sir. Left hander Brandt hurt is on the pitch for the Tigers comes on with two down and the bases empty. CJ K is the batter left on left bidding for a second hit of the night that’s going to get down. He’s going for two again. Perez throw to second is close but not in time. And CJ is two for two with two doubles. He gets in there and he beats the throw. He’s in scoring position. Now, now Brian Roo is the Guardian’s trying to cut into that Tiger lead. There is one of those ground balls. Torres got a bare hand on the money and they got four outs needed an extra one just in case instant replay shows up. It’s the right play over at first base to whistle at home. Labor do or die. Bang bang got him one down back to the top of the lineup for J Jones in on the hands and ramirez from third throws to first. It gets away a wobble from Jose ramirez over at third. He can’t believe it. So Jones at first with one out and Labor Torres zero for two. The batter up the middle in the center field, that’s a base hit Jamai Jones wants third base and he’ll take third base. Thank you very much. It’s a two strike hit three and one that’s ball four. It’s bases loaded. One down for Spencer to a mistake here could really, really blow this thing and lifts it high in the air to shallow left. Charging in is out goes. Arias. Arias makes the catch not nearly deep enough for Jones to try and score and now there’s two outs, a huge out recorded by Messi and now it’s Riley Green. The Tigers with a chance to really open things up here in the fifth inning trying to work out of it with no damage done. Struck him out and the Tigers squander an opportunity to blow this game open. Riley Green strikes out to leave them loaded. Parker Meadows takes a walk with two down a Baez trying to prolong the inning here with Meadows at first. And that is to shortstop ricocheting off of Arias Meadows a great read. He’s on his way to third and he’s in there safely. Holding on to the bag. Joey Cora pointing right at the bag and time called. It is 1st and 3rd for the Tigers. And here is a big opportunity for Carey carpenter to grab a baseball bat. He hits for Jamiah Jones, swing , struck him out and fo holds the Tigers at bay as Detroit two more here in the sixth. Back to back two out walks once again, Tigers trying to break it open. They lead 4 to 1 in the seventh. And now zack Mckinstry, another left handed hitter to the plate and a ground ball to Manzo, he’ll take it himself and the Tigers strand two more. They’ve left seven in the last three innings. Austin Hedges to lead it off. He’s singled in the third struck out in the fifth hedges with a line drive base hit to left field green cuts it off. It’ll be a leadoff single for hedges. His second hit of the night. This crowd is up on their feet. He said a big moment. Oh, what a catch by torres. He robbed Quant of a hit and boy that would have really ripped up the momentum in this inning. Instead, it’s a big first out Kyle Finnigan who has given up just two runs in his time with the Tigers and Daniel Schne will hit for Rodriguez on the ground right at first. Tort takes it in the chest and won’t even throw to second base hedges to second two gone. And jose ramirez who the Tigers have intentionally walked before they will not do it to bring the tying run to the plate. So he will hit here a base hit left center field around third. Austin Hedges will score. Jose is digging for two. He’s in with a two out RB I double and it’s a two run game now at 4 to 2 swing aren’t climbs another ladder now the clubs all time leader extra base hits. Congratulations. 726 but don’t stop there. We need more kyle Manzo with two down. See what Finnegan does swing and a miss strike three out of fastball that quiets the crowd and ends the eighth inning. Guardians have a one game lead over the Tigers in the A L central. The Tigers have the lead tonight at 4 to 2 and it’s up to Will V who’s trying to right the ship after three T outings. That’s there. Strike 31, strike three A slider. Cork screwed him down. Will Vest has back to back punch outs. Naylor is going to pinch hit for Noel. They want the lefty to get a crack at V gets him swinging. The losing streak is over. The Tigers are back in a first place tie at the top of the American League Central Tigers played that type of baseball. Good things can happen.

  1. Its great they finally got a win, but they had multiple chances to blow this game open and no one could get a clutch hit. Same problem thats been going on all during the losing streak.

  2. Greene, Tork still failing with RISP, waving at junk. Too many bats shrivel when the pressure is on. Why this is a problem now at the end of a great year is a mystery only they can solve, and they gotta do it quick.

  3. in the bigger picture…isn't it great that the Tigers are a winning team again…..go TIGERS….a weekend in New England….means alot…overall….. thanks Tigers for a great summer…

  4. Take that Cleveland announcers, you boobs. You're the worst homers in all of sports.

I absolutely hate Cleveland so much. They are the mistake by the lake. They literally only exist to embarrass the Tigers in the regular season and then embarrass themselves in the playoffs. They exist for no other reason. Their city doesn't care about them, their owner doesn't care about them and so much so to the point where they forfeited their historical and glorious name the Cleveland Indians. I absolutely hate this city so much. I cannot wait to no longer be in a division with them.
