Cody Stavenhagen on Tigers clubhouse vibes: “First time there’s been music playing in a long time. I think like 3 or 4 different guys used some variation of lifting a weight off our shoulder. Wenceel Perez literally gave like the biggest exhale I’ve ever seen.”

  1. I hope this helps the guys loosen up and get back to playing some small ball. It’s nice to have the homers this year vs how few this team hit last year, but it seems like we can’t win without them. I also hope the loss sends CLE tumbling.

  2. Cleveland went on a run this year with small ball. Tigers went on a run last year with small ball.

Naturally, they should have always leaned into small ball just with the added possibility of power at-bats. I wonder when the league will stop pretending like elite small ball doesn’t still win baseball games.

Maybe Tigers sweep, maybe Cleveland loses out, and this was a really emotional rollercoaster that ends how we all want? My king Wenceel is here to save the vibes

  3. Riley Greene yelled out, “There you go! There you go.” Slugger Spencer Torkelson gave a look of pleasant surprise. Ace Tarik Skubal yelled out, “We got an [expletive] squad now.” And before Javy Baez hit the locker room door, former Tiger great Cecil Fielder hugged him and said, “Y’all look so different.”
