Hr battle update
MVP vs MVP vs MVP HRD vs MVP ASG
Wow! Shohei hit his 54th homer. 1 more to break his own record.
Aaron, Cal, and Kyle did not hit a hr.
The Fantastic HR 4
4 score and 7 years ago, the Fantastic HR 4 were born to hit over 50 dingers.
When the moonshot hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's the Fantastic HR 4 amore.
Cal MVP HRD Raleigh
.247, 60, 125, 144 hits, .954, 7.2 WAR
Kyle MVP ASG Schwarber
.245, 56, 132, 145 hits, .943, 4.8 WAR
Shohei MVP Ohtani
.280, 54, 101, 169 hits, 1.010, 7.5 WAR
Aaron MVP MVP MVP Judge
.330, 51, 109, 175 hits, 1.140, 9.2 WAR
My MVP is the same from the beginning of the season, Aaron and Shohei. Back to back MVP and 50 hr seasons. As long as both are in their prime, no other player will win MVP. For at least 5 years. Cal will receive some votes but I don't think he will win.
My Cy Young is also the same, Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal.
Paul Skenes
32 games, 133.0 ip, 10-10, 216 ks, 10.4 k9, 136 hits, 42 bb, 45 r, 41 er, 1.97 era, 1 cg, 0.95 WHIP, 7.6 WAR
Tarik Skubal
31 games, 195.1 ip, 13-6, 241 ks, 11.9 k9, 141 hits, 33 bb, 55 r, 48 er, 2.21 era, 1 cg, 1 sho, .089 WHIP, 6.6 WAR

Maybe
Probably. It definitely won’t be unanimous. Judge will definitely get a lot of votes but I think Cal will take it. Both of them really deserve it.
Either way, either team and player would rather have a championship than an MVP.
It’s Most Valuable PLAYER, not Most Valuable Batter. I enjoy watching Judge play, but he’s more valuable in the on deck circle than he is in the outfield. Cal runs that pitching staff and gets beat up every day behind the dish. There is no comparison.
if cal wins it is simply voter fatigue. what judge is doing is so far and away better than anyone else in the AL. not really even a debate.
Raleigh is obviously having an historic and spectacular year.
But Judge leads the majors in BA, Slugging, OPS, WAR by wide margins. Leads the AL in runs scored by a wide margin.
To me, two stats that really matter are OPS which takes into account the complete offensive performance of a player and WaR which takes into account, a player’s performance relative to other players who play the same position. In OPS, Judge leads Raleigh by .180 and in WaR he leads Raleigh by a full 2 points. Raleigh is the best story of the 2025 MLB season but Judge is the MVP by far.
Any other position and Judge has such a great shot but the fact a *catcher* is doing this alone has my vote.
Let’s talk about Cal’s defense, this season, not last. Dude is giving up 80% steal rates, has a negative Defensive Runs Saved, and is 7th out of 8 for range factor among AL catchers.
Somehow that makes up for 200 points worse in OPS? Somehow that cancels out Judge winning a batting title and hitting 50 bombs?
It’s voter fatigue and a pity award if Raleigh wins.
Cal deserves to win MVP most years, sure, but Judge is having another season for the ages.
Skubal’s WHIP is insane. Pedro’s peak, among the goatiest of goats, only had 1 year with a lower WHIP.
Technically no. Do a lot of us still want him to win? Yes. Dude had a historic year of catchers and is a pivotal part of his team. Judge just happens to be on another planet
If you had to pick anyone in the AL to be on your team to help them have the best regular season possible, nobody is picking Cal Raleigh over Aaron Judge lol
When you use the WAR that “more accurately reflects value for catchers”, he is still behind by half a win.
Honestly if the Yankees won the East by a wide margin I’m giving the award to Raleigh. They’re currently tied with Toronto.
I don’t think either team wins or has a chance to win the division without either player. Due to this I have to give the award to Judge just because he statistically had the better year. Had the Yankees won the division by a wide margin I’d give it to Raleigh because it’s the most valuable player award not the best overall player award.
Why are so many people being dramatic about how one person is clearly the number 1 choice!!!
Voters are going to give themselves fits going back and forth this year. Both have unbelievable cases.
A batting champ with 50+ homerun power vs an everyday catcher hitting 60 homeruns while leading one of the best pitching staffs in baseball
This is great for the game lol enjoy the debate and dont take it so seriously!!!
When was the last time this was such a difficult decision?
Gonna be close. He’s still inferior to judge but voters may just want to give it to someone else regardless.
Bold of them to assume he’s done hitting homers at 60.
I’m just some filthy casual, but the way I see is Cal has a bigger WAR advantage over the next closest catcher than Judge has over the next closest outfielder. Is that the wrong way to look at it? Probably. Is that how I’m going to choose to look at it? Yes. Jake from Jomboy Media said it well when asked about it. He doesn’t want to see Judge robbed of 2 MVPs, but he thinks it’s going to happen. He’d rather have the MVP the year Altuve over winning against Cal.
I know MVP is different now but the three AL triple crown winners between 1934 and 1947 didn’t win MVP and the 1934 guy wasn’t even the MVP of his own team.
MVP should be the biggest impact on his team not the best numbers.

A Catcher hits 60, propelling a nonplayoff team, into the playoffs? … that’s your MVP
Judge is 9.2 war
Cal is 7.2
Easy decision
If you believe the sports talking heads they seem to lean towards Cal for MVP right now
I think a loooooot of you need to learn the difference between the MVP award and the Hank Aaron award.
If Cal wins it’s because of voter fatigue. He doesn’t have the all around numbers to beat out Judge
I hope it’s Cal to put up those numbers while taking the beating a catcher does is very impressive.
The sentiment seems to be so disingenuous as it comes down to Cal hit more homers and isn’t a Yankee, asking those people to actually look at every other statistic or tool results in fingers in ears and head in the dirt mentality
Both Cy Young stats have miscalculated k/9
Judge should win MVP. Cal will win MVP.
I don’t really think 9 extra homers makes up for the almost .200 difference in OPS. Judge should get it, but can see the voters going Raleigh
Why do we act like 60 home runs is far from 51 home runs? Judge also has a higher batting average that comes with it.
Ohtani would have 12 less home runs if he played at T-Mobile
Judge would have 3 more!
Why is this title phrased as if the award is judges already. Why does cal have to “beat” judge? Shouldnt judge have to “beat” cal?
Subtle wording like this has an impact. It creates the impression the award already belongs to judge.
They both win co-MVP like 1979
