SoCal Series Win | Royals Bats Back Lorenzen’s Nine Strikeouts To Win The Series
Mitch Ferris in his big league debut was great at Kauffman Stadium back on September the second and slowly but surely the league is catching up to him. Four starts. Of course, the first two were great. The last two. Not so much, Michael is on with a game opening walk. He had a good game on Tuesday night. Two hits two RBIs and a run scored with a fly ball. If this one stays in play, it’s Guzmán and the play any time you get Bobby Witt out that’s important. Look at Bobby Witt 73 extra base hits this season. This casual, I’ll make that play in front of you. Say hi runner on first with one out for Vinnie Pasquin. Pasquin launches it deep to right field ads to the track. He looks up and it’s gone. The first inning two run homer for Vinnie Pasquin and the Royals have an early lead tonight in Anaheim the year for Pasquin, a career year in many regards. When he went down, he kept his head down on that baseball really well and lifted that one out. Perez does have 30 home runs this year. He’s driven in 97 looking for his third career 100 RB I year. Here’s the pitch and that is a wave and a miss and that was a good change up there. And that one really fooled Perez struck him out with the Angels winning three. The Royals won on Tuesday night , 84. The payoff delivery, this is hit well into center field going after it is Teodosio has a bead on, it will make the catch a few feet from the rim of the tracks. Former Angel Mike Lorenzo, he was eight six when you go back a couple of seasons ago with Halos and 18 starts. 4 to 4. Got the opportunity to be a starter again called third strike. Sean didn’t like it. He did not. That brings up Mike Trout to an is ovation at Angel Stadium and Trout takes a called third strike and he’s upset really testing that theory that Trout never argues he did not like that pole didn’t say much, but you could see his demeanor as he heads back to the bench. Lorenzen is coming off a really good start and that was last Friday and that’s in there called strike three, a slider at the knees. Michael Lorenzen strikes out the side in the bottom of the first and every Angel went down looking and the Royals were hoping to finish the year above 500. Joe Adell leads off the bottom of the second inning lifts this one in the air into center field. It’s hit well and get center out by the wall jumping up. It’s out of here. A home run angels in the outfield are pretty psyched about that dead center field. Now, just three RBIs away from 137 as he takes over the lead. Now, home run pass it Taylor ward, Joe Adle crushed that one to center. Haven’t seen Taylor play a lot since coming back from the injured list. He’s filled in here and there. Strike three definitely below the strike zone there. I thought that was ball four. He was half way to first before realizing that was a called third strike and that was definitely not a strike. There’s a liner base hit for Logan, that ball smashed through the infield, another well hit baseball in the first pitch thrown by Lorenzen. You don’t want to get into a two strike count. You better be out there. Here’s the pitch and that one is Lowe. It skips off the glove of the catcher Jensen and easily moving up to second base on what will be scored a wild pitchy now at second, it could bring him in and tie up this ball game, swung on and missed strike three. Got him with an elevated fastball. Five K’s for Lorenzen tonight. Two gone in the bottom of the second that brings up DenzerGuzmán. Guzmán. It’s this ball sharply. It’s stopped by wit a dive and he was unable to all goes round to reach first and he saved the run on that one though, showing his range as a pitcher on the mound. You, you’re, you’re appreciate of that. You love the out. But he saved the run. That ball was hit hard. 100 and six MPH off the bat. How quick those reflexes were trying to get up, unable to get the handle of the baseball and the transfer. But he does save a run played an excellent defensive center field. We’ll see how the Angels that out for next year and Teodosio skies it straight away right field, Jack Cag Leones underneath it. He reaches up and makes a one hand catch. Teodosio is out and that ends the inning walked his first time scored on Paso’s two run homer. Angels got one back in the bottom of the second on the home run by joe Adell his 37th of the year. Mike. He is on for a second time tonight. He has 176 hits five away from the injured Bo Bichette for the major league lead off the end of the bat. And that’s down Garcia Reddit and he’s going to make the turn and with one out, the Royals have runners at 1st and 3rd, that is the approach it’s going to take for the Royals hitters to get back to what they did last season in 2024 batting with runners in scoring position. Extend the innings Moore down to second back to first close but out for now, Vinny did not react and Q is going to challenge Kansas City is challenging the alcohol at first base that looks like he’s safe. We don’t know when this is the better angle. When does the ball make contact with the interior part of the glove? I think he’s safe. It looks safe good hustle by Vinny coming down the line after review, the call on the field is overturned. The runner is safe. Kansas City duper makes it possible. Vinny getting out of the box aggressively. You see the head down, he wanted , he could smell it. RBI a little bit of a win as he went through the bag but well worth it for him and for the team Royals three and angels one to keep an eye on the second base. So, what a dangerous hitter at the plate now, line down the third base line goes off Montas glove and Karam is down the left field line to the corner. Bobby Witt Jor gets to second. He’s got a one out RB I double. He scorched it down the line. He put the hot in hot corner and moncada could not get the webbing around it. Michael Lorenzen has gotten 24 runs of support over his last two starts. Junior moves toward the middle, sets his feet and throws in time. How he mixed it up tonight. Well, a little heavier on the sinker last start. He threw 22% cutters tonight. Only 1.6% cutter and there is strikeout number nine. Guzmán goes down that ties Lorenz’s career best from 2022 against the Phillies line to shortstop right at Bobby Junior. He gloves it chest tie that ends the inning. Michael Lorenzen has retired 10 consecutive batters. Michael Lorenzen has been really tough tonight. He set down the last 10 in a row. Wells zero for two out to right. Jumps on the express and sends one out his 12th home run owe with his first hit in this series. And that is home run number 12 of the year and it cuts the Royals lead to two. It’s 42. Kansas City Angels pitching coach Barry Enright is coming out and they’re going to get ready for Adam Frazier. So Adam Frazier who had a two run double and two hits in the game on Tuesday feathered to the left side of the infield and the throw is late and Frazier gets an RB I infield hit to score Bobby Witt junior. Well, there you go. There’s the feather you’ve been looking for, put it in your cap. Nice job right there. Back door breaking ball just able to put it in play. Let his speed do the work here. The big time hits in his career versus Kansas City. There’s a centerfield on the rave is back at the wall. Yeah. One going to start a new countdown to 500. Mike Trout hits a laser to straight away center another home run for the 400 the first time in his career that’s vintage Trout and win out. This is a 20 two degree launch angle. The premier power hitter of a generation. How about another big swing back goes, Adele all the way back and it breaks the game open and reaches 100 RBIs. Look at that needed three of them, got them all on one big swing tonight. He thought he might have got it too. Maren Leer, got him but still able to cash in three and there’s a base hit into right center. Here comes Salvi around third and the Royals score four in the ninth inning damage with two outs right here. Slider trying to go in below the barrel to Jastremski doesn’t get it there and these Royals hitters have made him pay for it big time hits with two outs runners in scoring position. We saw it on Tuesday. We’re seeing it again tonight. So the Angels are down to their final out in this ball game and it’s chopped out to Junior and Avila gets the job done in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Angels go down in order Salvador Perez with a three run double in a four run ninth inning.
Michael Lorenzen punches out nine to tie a career-high, and Salvador Perez collects his 100th RBI of the season.

glad to see these bats heating up…. after our season is over
Why do we play so good after we miss the playoffs 😭
Next year looks promising. We have Kolek and Bergert to reinforce the bullpen and start if needed – if Bubic, Lugo, and Ragans can stay healthy and do what they've done for us when they are, maybe bring Lorenzen back, we have a great starting rotation. Wouldn't mind another bullpen guy to help bridge the gap between our starters and Erceg + Estevez – but Jensen is playing like an all-star, and I think Caglianone just needs an off-season spent working on some things (I'm not very concerned at all about his struggles this year) and if Bobby Witt can play even close to as good as last year, then he + Pasquantino, Perez, and Garcia, are a great heart of our lineup (as long as Garcia continues to play well) – add to that Frazier and Yaz playing how they have this year, and a couple of good free agent righties not named Hunter Renfroe or Mark Canha (I wish Grichuk could have hit how he has against lefties before he was on our team because him and Yaz looked like a perfect left/right platoon – it might be worth giving him another shot to bounce back on a cheap contract) but with all of that, we have a chance to make a serious run in the playoffs. I've been saying all year that the Royals are underperforming, and the Tigers are overperforming, and I think recent games have proven that. The Guardians, in my opinion, are still the team to beat in our division. Anyway – I'm excited for next year, and confident that it will live up to our expectations. This year was honestly a half building year, half competitive year – so if we end up over .500, that's a great sign of things to come, considering how incomplete the team felt at times. Just need our owner to open up his bank account a bit, and we are more than set. Our team is motivated, but I think that after last year, their motivation kind of got them worked up. Not even going to mention the hitting coach, I think he got us off to a really bad start with his off-season antics, and of course, Q not winning the game in front of him because he's always thinking about the game 2 days from now.. I just hope he learns from his mistakes, and that our pitching coach takes the route of trying to refine our pitchers, not overhaul their style, like he did with Ragans (I think he learned his lesson from that) oh – and if Massey can stay healthy, and India can hit around .250, that would help a lot.
Long winded post, but I needed to put it somewhere. 😂
The Royals will be back!
5:43 I love this guy's voice 😂 he sounds like an old-timey umpire
Angels defense gave the game away
Was the home plate ump related to Angel Hernandez, by any chance?
