Till this day I was so sad when we lost to the rams

  1. NFL needed to help the Rams pay for their new stadium by giving them the Super Bowl aka Ron Torbert. The Super Bowl win also helped the Rams by getting them new fans in a new market that they recently moved to.

  2. When Burrow got sacked I literally walked out my door and ended walking like 5-6 miles around my neighborhood. Tough night.

  3. The only game from that playoff run I haven’t rewatched. Still remember the Higgins TD after halftime and laughing with my buds about how it was a good no call from the refs. Good times

  4. No lie being from la seeing the bengals play for the first time was a crazy experience but deep down ik it was written on the walls for the rams to win that game 😭

  5. Sadder now having realized that may be the highlight of burrows career here. At the time it felt like they’d be back a couple times by now and win one but that’s not how it’s gone

  6. That game was rigged. There was no way they would let the Rams lose the Super Bowl in their home stadium. The NFL should have had a secondary stadium if teams make it to the Super Bowl so they don’t have home-field advantage and get calls and non-calls to help them win.

  7. I was bummed but very grateful to have witnessed a Bengals Super Bowl run and I was convinced we would be back there very soon. Hopefully we can build a team around Joey B over the next couple years and keep him healthy.

  8. More sad about how we lost it. I fully expected to lose going into it and was just happy we made it, but getting that close hurt

  9. All I can remember is being dressed head to toe in Bengals gear and going to a new friend’s Superbowl party. And so I’m sitting there watching the game start and other people are showing up.

I quickly realize that the Superbowl party is just an excuse to party for almost everyone here. And it’s just loud as hell, talking and sharing videos, they start playing music, discussing friend group stuff I have no interest in. I can barely hear the TV. And the Bengals start losing.

And then some girl who’s been loud as hell turns to me and asks, “oh, which team are you rooting for?”

I’m head to toe in black and orange. “The Bengals.”

    “Are they winning?”

  10. Just once, I would love to see the Lombardi come to Cincinnati. I want to experience that feeling of seeing them win it, going to the parade and being able to buy apparel that says champs, just once

  11. Unforgettable year! No one outside Cincy fans saw the Bengals emerging and going that far.

The defense showed up when it mattered the most, Pratt breaking a 31 year playoff drought, Anarumo out scheming Andy Reid, Burrow seems bulletproof, surviving 9 sacks in the playoffs and then conquering the Chiefs in Arrowhead.

Chido, DJ Reader, Joe Mix, Bates, Mike Hilton, Von Bell, Sam…the whole gang was there, still at their best.

Man, we were so close. Still have faith the Burrow led Bengals will win a title, just wished we won with that roster. That unit was special. It will always be my favorite Bengal team of all time, until the new one brings a title.

  12. Yup probably the only chance they will have for the next 30 years. I doubt I will ever go back and watch it again.

  13. Holy shit looking at the sack differentials in the box score is crazy

    *Matthew Stafford: 2-13*

    *Joe Burrow: 7-43*

I’m sure being forced to punt 4 times in a row didn’t help either

  14. I said when the bengals made it I was going. Being there and so close was such a feeling. Also would have won $10k for betting on them to win it all preseason

  15. Logan Wilson actually won the game after cleanly breaking up that pass. Change my mind. (WARNING: You won’t be able to.)

  16. I went down in my basement and destroyed a wooden stool with a hammer. It didn’t help, I’m still sad

  17. I want to k!ll myself everytime I see any graphic or screenshot from the game, thanks for posting

  18. Refs we lost to the refs rigged ass game in LA with celebrities all in blue bandanas crip walkin

  19. As a Browns fan I was actually pulling for y’all that game. I hate you in the season but I could not in good faith cheer for the downfall of an Ohio franchise in the Super Bowl. Lord knows we go through it enough at the pro level in this state.

  20. 49ers fan here. I was sad when the rams knocked us out and was rooting so hard for the bengals.

Our mutual hatred of the rams that year and the chiefs is what gives me a soft spot for the bengals
