Just a gentle reminder to Americans, for the vast majority of Canadians the conversation around homosexuality is settled. They’re free to live and prosper here and they are no different than any other citizen. No, religion is not an excuse for exclusion.
Canadians have settled issues like being gay and abortion some time ago. That’s where we are as a society.
Reimer will have to face those realities in the city he is in. One of the most diverse in Canada.
You can’t tell Canadians to “get over it” because it runs counter to our values. We don’t exclude people. That’s who we are. Religion be damned.
Canada is also, a secular state and in some places (like Quebec) it’s very explicit.
